It’s not a real theater. I tried to go on Fandango and get tickets to see the Emoji movie there and they didn’t have it that night. The toilet paper their isn’t soft enouf.
Everyone is pleasant and helpful and the acting is always superb even when I am confused about the play itself. Best to sit towards the middle so you can see the stage sides and I get the audio description single ear headset as I find the description s helpful to understand the plays actions.
Saw the East Coast Premier of Manhatta by Mary Katherine Nagle. Fantastic set. The whole entire production was NYC Off Broadway Caliber! Something youd expect from Yale Repertory being so close to NYC, with the elite Yale School of Drama pool of student designers and alumni to pull from. If you live in CT or New England and love theater, you must see a show here if you havent already!
Saw Manahatta by Mary Kathryn Nagle! The theatre like other Yale buildings carries a piece of history. The theatre is small but the layout is perfect for a decently sized audience.
Innovative plays in a casual setting. Many have gone to Broadway. Went to see Manahatta.
Beautiful theater. Historic. So many acting heavyweights have performed here. Definitely a must if youre in New Haven. I would recommend seeing a play at the Yale Rep over the Schubert.
Small university theater. Small hard seats, but the small venue means nearly every seat is a good seat. Some food and drink options at normal theater pricing. Generally, very talented actors with a diverse offering of performances. With the diversity you will find some plays to meet your tastes while others certainly won’t. Some of the plays were among my favorites I have ever seen at any venue and I am sad I will likely never be able to see the plays again. Other plays I have seen there should probably not go any farther than that. Lower prices than larger venues, and discounts for students.
The plays they choose reflect the growing diversity of this nation. Giving equal time to important stories about our history, bringing great works of Shakespeare and telling untold adventures are just a few of the things Yale Rep does well.
A very cool theater and very professional. Several things to note: Do NOT be late. They dont want to let you in after the production has started. Allow time to use the restroom beforehand. They dont want you to leave your seat.
Friendly staff, great show! Wasnt crowded on a Tuesday night, but I imagine it might be busier on weekends. Definitely planning to come to more shows.
Nice theatre. Parking was hard to get, but everything else was good. I saw the play Anne at this theatre. Staff were very professional and were informative.
Nice place for some great theatre. Staff is friendly. Has a nice ambience and a comfortable feel to it. I absolutely love the Yale Rep productions. Must go to one if you live nearby!
Nice space. Center balcony seat with a great view. Bright, colorful, fun show. Will definitely return*
I loved the show. The music was awesome. The graphics were amazing and beyond words.
Quality productions and ticket prices that dont break the bank.
I love going out to the Yale Repertory Theater. I went to to see the showing of Native Son which was an amazing. I love the coziness of the theater along with the layout of the theater. I really love the acoustics as well too. Ive sat nearly every quadrant of the theater and every time I never feel like Ive got to be straining to hear the show being preformed.
Yales excellent drama school theater does four plays a year. This year all four are new. Always well acted and staged and interesting.
I finally got a chance to go to a show at Yale Rep! I was not disappointed. Inside and out, the building is beautiful. I was impressed with just about everything. The cleanliness, the free coffee downstairs before the show, the friendly staff, and the views of the stage from every seat. I cant wait to go back.
Always great seating, and very good performance. Dont forget the free coffee and tea in the basement!
Cadillac Crew was an awesome play. Great performances.
Great place for drama and concert
Fantastic people and good entertainment.
Nice, accessible theater just down from the New Haven Green.
I like the Yale Rep; its cozier than the Shubert, but less weird than the Cabaret. Since its toward the edge of downtown, parking is good if you know where to look. Ticket prices are ok; but I got free ones from Willoughbys
Always an enjoyable experience even when you arent crazy about the play!
Nice place to enjoy a show locally
This is one of the best repertory theaters in the country.
Nice theater with good shows.
Intimate theater with wonderful productions of very diverse genres. A gem.
Excellent productions. This is where August Wilson premiered most of his plays. We saw Seven Guitars recently. Wow!
Small but very cozy
Imogene says nothing was really good. Court life was really bad. Cool theater, shows seem hit or miss so far.
I saw Imogen says nothing this weekend. This play was truly horrible. The actors did their best with the material, but the plot was incomprehensible. Stay far away!
Every seat is good. Good value for your $
The world famous Yale Rep has trained so many talented actors, including Phil Proctor and Peter Bergman of Firesign Theater.
Very provocative plays! Worth season tickets.
Wonderful season so far
Intimate theater, top notch staging and acting
Awesome!
A go to for must see
Ill be there today for the play, and OT!
Very cool
Nice theatre, despite bad show
Great theatre and wonderful addition to New Haven
