We have always had good service, good food, and a lot of fun. Dont miss the shorts 30minutes before the show. Its always very clever.
We stopped going as it seems the place is going downhill maintenance wise. It doesnt seem as clean as it was, the previous theatre before renovation had that moldy buttery carpet smell and now it is happening again. The water tastes weird, like soapy. The food quality is not as good as EVO Spot in San Marcos or the newer EVO near Schertz. We only go if there is a movie we want to see that is only screened @ Alamo. We used to be regular customers. Hopefully during Covid shutdown they did some maintenance and upkeep. Havent been there since Covid-19.
The nachos are great in the vanilla shake as well must-try.........!
Food prices are not always worth it but the pizza is. But its great for just seeing a movie.
I love the theme of the Alamo, there are many references to old school movies that I enjoy seeing.I usually get my tickets online so I am not sure about the wait in line here, but when you get your tickets online it is as easy as walking in and finding your seat, and an attendant will check your ticket before the movie starts. While you watch the movie you can order food which I find delicious and enjoyable. Though like many theaters the prices here can get pricey for some, but otherwise they are great with their food in my opinion. The only bad experience I have had was in my last couple visits, a few attendants never walked by to get my order so I would miss out on an order, but otherwise I really enjoy this place.
I really enjoyed this movie theater. Prices were very good, seating was great and the staff very nice. You can choose your seat online if you like or just go with the flow. The menu is better than I thought it would be. Quite a few items to choose from. Appetizers, main courses, beer, mixed drinks and even dessert. Wow! Not bad. The appetizer was a bit spicy for my tastes but the pizza, very good. So I say try dinner a movie and a drink. How could you go wrong with that. Oh and I paid only 25.00 for that enjoyable nite at the movies!
Awesome picture house. Big bar to wait in. The food was surprisingly delicious. I got a steak salad and it was fantastic. You could taste the fresh greens and beef. Popcorn was great too! Oh yea, the theater was well kept and seats are comfy.
The movies are great and the picture and sound are amazing. The pepperoni pizza is good and the drinks are always great. The one thing that is a pain is the service. We were in 3 hour long movie and were only helped once. We left several notes and even asked for helped multiple times but never received it. To make us even more frustrated this was during the day and the place was damn near empty of customers so it’s not like anyone was even busy. We were really disappointed in that and it kinda ruined the experience for us. Would consider going back if they changed how they catered to their customers. The bar at this place is really good though. The beer is always really cold and friendly bartenders that provide great service and fast. It’s just the service inside the theaters that needs some major work and improvements.
Long story short, I did not do very good research when taking my daughter to the movies and while watching the previews that Alamo Drafthouse plays, it hit me that the movie was not a good choice. I tried to pay my food and was going to eat the tickets since it was my fault, but the staff would not allow it. They got their manager and I opted for the rain checks. Went again to watch an age appropriate movie and was not disappointed. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff was polite and the food was good. It is a little expensive, but you expect that at movie theaters. Highly recommend
Alamo Family movie Onward was great! Next round throw some Wizard stickers out there. Server was good! And ladies in jammies were fun.Note: check times before you get there.
Awesome experience at our Alamo for All viewing of Frozen 2! Stoked to have a nicer place in town to take my young kids for family date night.5 star service and food. And the booster seats were helpful We will be back for date night soon!
A great Alamo. my fave place when lived in NB. Cant wait for reopen
Im not sure 3 stars are right. The movie was great but we went to Alamo to enjoy food and a movie. Service was rough. Kids only ordered popcorn and drinks .... hubs and I had food and drinks. We used the paper system to order but never got served. Just bummed we could have gone to creekside if we had known.
My daughter loves to go to the movies so when she is in town we always go to Alamo Drafthouse. If you are like her, you can’t stand people talking or using their phone at a movie. This place will not allow it at all. And they have great food and adult beverages. The shakes are some of our favorites. She likes to get a burger and I love the roasted brussel sprouts and bacon pizza. It is clean there and the special events are fun.
It was okay. The restroom smelled like literal death (not waste, but maybe a backed up sewer system). There was melted ice cream on our menu that spilled on us. I told a waitress on my way out to wash it off, and by the time I came back from the restroom with a damp shirt, my husband still hadnt been brought any napkins any my seat was still covered in mess. No apology for the wait or the issue. The food was pretty good. The movie was amazing. Weirdly meh experience.
Purchased two tickets to LION KING. The assigned seating feature is great IF others follow it and sit in their own seats. However, that was not the case, we had Row 5 Seats 1 & 2. Upon entering the theatre, we noticed someone was in our seats. I asked the people sitting there what their seat numbers were and he immediately said, we are in the wrong seats but they moved us so that family (pointed at next row) could all sit together. I went to the Server and he advised me that the numbers may be flipped around so pointed us to the end of the row. Seats 8 & 9. I knew that was incorrect but I didnt want to disturb the rest of the patrons so we sat down. Shorty, after, we were asked to move by the customers who had seats 8 & 9. I went out and asked the Manager to please get this resolved so that we can enjoy the movie... She said that she would get the Bartender to walk us in there and we were free to choose any seat that we wanted. The only seating left was the front row. We opted to leave. my question is...Why assign seating if no one in that theatre in any capacity is willing to enforce it?
This is the best movie theater in the world.
One of the larger Alamo Draft Houses. I guess I am used to the Austin venues. Everything was great. We had a good time. The food was good. I will say watch out for the buttered popcorn unless you really like butter because man, they do not skimp on the butter. The drink selection is excellent, I enjoyed the vast selection of beer.
We enjoyed the show but it took almost an hour to get our food... the server noticed about after 40 minutes that we didnt have our food and she was going to go check on it, but never returned. After 10 more minutes I went out and a lady asked if I needed help and took our seat numbers down, and our food came put about 5 minutes later. I was halfway expecting our meal to be discounted in some way, but it wasnt-- however, an apology would have gone a very long way. I suppose I should have complained about it more. Food was ok, but we probably wont be back because of this experience.
Alamo is a great concept, but have always thought the New Braunfels location had some strong food smells that didnt always leave you hungry. Lose the carpet as it has no place in a restaurant style movie theater and holds that smell. AWESOME PLACE OTHERWISE!!!
The Best place to enjoy a movie either with friends or alone. Great service and super comfy.
The service is awesome. Food and popcorn Great. The movies are Great. The drawback is the theater is very cold at times.
Excellent day. Ordered tickets ahead, arrived when straight in to movie. Good food drinks and show.
Always a great place to watch new and old movies. Check out the movie parties! They are fun.
First time coming here and was confused by the tickets because they said row 13 and there were only 4 rows. No one around to ask. Didnt know how to order from seat as there were no directions other than having to watch what others were doing. No reclining seats (unless they just werent in the theater I was in?) This is 2020...get with the times. Ill just drive down to San Antonio to get the proper movie experience I guess.
I love Alamo Drafthouse, this location is alright. Had a horrible smell in the hallway before but its gotten better now its only funky but overall good place
So we show up 15 mins before our show starts.1/19/2020.the young lady at ticket counter was busy on her tablet and did not even look up to see us and totally ignored us. We should have left right then and there as the worst was yet to come! Yep you thought right, the disgusting food! The fish was frozen&undercooked. The condiments once you had to beg for them were watery. We spent over 100.00 and would have done better at burger king.a complete I give the con men&women at the draft house 1 star for quality of movie&sound.but we will be avoiding this place like the plague!!!
Horrible experience, I became extremely physically ill and had to be rushed to hospital, we had paid for our tickets. The staff.brought us two drinks we didnt even touch and then chased me and my husband down as we tried to leave to go to hospital and demanded that we pay immediately and threatened us. It was very scary. It was like 3$. Horrible management.
I always love seeing movies at the draft house. If you are a fan of pickles, try the fried pickles here! They are my favorite.
Good cinema. Can drink alcohol whole watching movies. Good service
Went in a group and did karaoke. Had a great time. Would have given 5 stars if food and customer service was better.
Bar before show with attentive and knowledgeable bartender. Great food and service during the movie.
The movie selection is great (as it is at any Drafthouse), but service at this particular Alamo Drafthouse is terrible. I watched an entire movie with an order standing up on the table for the servers to see, but no one ever came to take it. The womens restroom is also completely disgusting--sticky floor and several clogged toilets.
Love coming here when Im in town. The on screen movie preview is always too funny. Decent food and ticket prices are way more affordable than AMC or Regal. The only thing I suggest is a less sticky menu for ordering food in the future.
Food and drinks are pretty good and consistent. Staff is always great and welcoming. ONLY issue which is a big one since you’re going to watch a movie after all are the screens and projectors at this location. Especially for the price per ticket. Frequent customers here and top membership level so we’ve been in pretty much every theater room here. It seems it’s 50/50 with the screens but most of them have a horrible glare to them right in the center with a really bad shiny freckle to them which ruins the movie no matter where you’re sitting. A simple 1080p projector from Best Buy would put these projectors and screens to shame. At the beginning of any movie you see it’ll say “Sony 4K” which is a joke. With the overly glossy screens it looks about 720p at best. We’ve started to go to Evo theaters more often for a better movie viewing experience. Again it’s not every theater room here that has a horrible picture but it’s starting to seem like it. If you’re wanting to see a bigger blockbuster movie then go elsewhere for a better viewing experience. If you’re wanting to just enjoy a nice meal and drink with an average drive in movie theater picture then for sure come to this theater. Hopefully they step it up with the viewing experience in the future.
I love Alamo Draft House, but this was my first visit to this location. Its as good as the others Ive been too! Highly recommended!
Its a nice place with comfortable seats and decent food. The only problem is that it is so damn expensive.
Really enjoy the order your seats ahead of time and the popcorn however I feel the prices on food are a little over the top. Good service this last time we went and the food was very good, at least you do get a good tasting product.
My family and I have always LOVED Alan Drafthouse. What a great idea. I always have a delicious burger and fries and beer while I watch a movie. Love it.
Im just not accustomed to picking my seat before I enter the theater. Everybody was very polite and professional. The previews are VERY loud so be prepared.
My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary, the paper anniversary, here. I bought him the tickets which would normally be printed on paper haha! We got a little dressed up and saw Toy Story 4 which we had been planning to do for quite sometime. He wore his whole cowboy giddy up and I felt like Bo Peep. Thank you for letting us celebrate with you all! Youve set the bar high!
Very cool to have dinner with the movie. Reasonable and the food is good too.
It really nice, and the food was good. I had the burger and fried pickled, both great. The staff was nice and attentive. The only thing is it has a weird smell to it when you walk in, but get used to it pretty soon and then cant even tell.
Horrible movie theater. A matinee is $7.50 but the seating is horrible, uncomfortable and old. The floors were filthy. Do not recommend when there are better options near by.
Theatre is a little on the old side. Cinema and sound was good. We did not eat there, just ate the popcorn, which was fine.
The food was awesome. Our waiter was good. Movie was awesome. The sound was perfect.
Loved the entertainment of having IT walk around and scaring people. The place definitely needs a good carpet cleaning it smells like grandmas old house
Tasteless food which took forever to come out. Everything is way too expensive for the amount you actually get. Paid $14 for a extra small pizza in a puddle of grease. If you decide to come here, itd be best to just stay home and save your money. Was very disappointed.
This place is awesome. The endless bowl of popcorn, a cold drink, and a fantastic movie experience. Great for families and date nights. Two thumbs up!
I used to work the market place before it became the draft house, a run down theater full of memories, Alamo has renovated the old theater and adapted it into a really enjoyable environment! Parking can fill up early so be prepared to walk the lot or drop off, make sure you buy your tickets online or the app (search it,cant advertise). They hold tight to there rules, so no phones loud kids or talking and dont show up late or they wont let you in! Sounds like a pain but it really makes it a very enjoyable facility. Staff is polite, and the interactive movie event nights are a blast! The attached bar is very nice and generally laid back. Meaning you can actually enjoy a drink and a conversation. But it is a small indoor bar with a patio area. Usually have seasonal specials or themed foods and drinks. Can be family friendly pending movie rating, I STRONGLY suggest getting on the website and review their rules and guideline before attending, So that you can enjoy your visit and not surprised by them
Awesome place!! Food is really good and fresh, popcorn is delicious!
Great place, friendly staff and love to eat, munch and drink while were there!
Love this place. Watch a movie and have dinner at the same time. Its perfect for dates or family time. They offer drinks that are amazing with cool and unique names. And lots of food options from gluten free, vegetarian and meat dishes. Such a great experience.
This is a perfect place for a date night. The food is delicious and bonus they offer a vegan menu!
Theater was very clean along with the bathrooms. Food was good and seemed to be made to order. Service was good and did come back to check on us after we got our food for refills.
Clean theater. Nice bar. Good pizza
Not your typical theater seating but overall nice theater and good service
Its a nice experience, staff is friendly and attentive. I ordered the chicken & ricotta meatballs. They had good flavor a bit salty and could if been a bit softer. Bathroom floor was wet and could of been a bit cleaner.
I love my fovorite alamo drafhouse in new braunfes tx
Easy to get to and lots of parking. See a movie and get a drink plus meal. Just enjoy the movie.
Drafthouse: hey no cell phones or talking it ruins the movie! we are so serious about moviesalso drafthouse: *servers constantly coming in and out, talking, taking orders, looking at receipts with phone lights, chatting with patrons*im probably just wrong.
Nice theater, service was not the best. There was only one server to a sold out showing. However the salted caramel shake is delicious.
Clean and spacious and holds screenings for limited release films. The seats were comfortable and no problems regarding service. Also, the food was good but a little pricey. I orderes the hulking smash avocado burger which was excellent- just could have been much cheaper. Overall I had a good time here and is nothing too exciting.
Service was very good. Food was okay. Popcorn was not my favorite. My favorite part of this experience was the narrated preshow. The narrator was super funny!
We like Alamo Drafthouse. The staff are friendly and efficient!
Wife and I love going to the Drafthouse. Usually a good experience and dont have to deal with the jackholes who cant be seperated from their cell phones for a second.
Should be called The Alamo Barf House, Place smells horrid, Oh! and dont be few minutes late with already purchased tickets, they wontlet you in. Ride management. No refund for online purchases, basically steal your money.
Really enjoy coming here, sometimes the food is hit or miss but the beer is always good. I like how this place always has different people or to showcase new movie releases and the dont mind if you took them or take pictures with them. I love those app and the rewards. For food the child and queso are the bomb, chill tenders and fries with green chili gravy are always good. And I always get a chocolate chip cookie shake, its awesome.
Fun times with my son and all of his roommates and friends on Christmas eve!
Kind of interesting place - full menu and bar - but everything is served by waiters to your seats - once seated it is very difficult to get up - reserved seating is very helpful
First time there and I had a great time! The whole family enjoyed the experience. A lilttle pricey but. Id say it was worth it. Service was great and the food was delish! I liked that we could order our tickes online. We will be back!
I love going to watch movies here. I think the thing that keeps me coming back the most besides the food and drink service is their no talking policy. It makes for a more enjoyable experience.
Love the atmosphere of this place. Food can be decent at best, but for a theater its better that the usual.
The movie experience was great, but the food was overpriced. We have eaten at the theater before and the food was good, but with bigger portions. This time the food was mediocre and the portions were small. We will go back to eating before or after the movie so we can be sure we are receiving quality food. Plus, I want my straw back and not some limp substitute. $4.50 for a drink and I cant get a straw. Come on what is this California Drafthouse. Please...................
Had decent selection of beers. The ordering process was a little confusing, but a waiter came by eventually to take our order. Food was also pretty good.
My family enjoys how comftorable and enjoyable a movie and a meal is here...
Always have a great time here. Love being able to pick my seat. Highly recommend the Irish Coffee. Super yummy. And arrive a little early for some pre movie fun.
Food is good, drinks are good. Staff are great. Wish I could take my kids to more movies here, but we respect the age limit situation.TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONES NOW!!!! (my favorite part)
Update 9/5/19: used to love the draft house. There are better options in town as the service has started to lack and customer service lacks as well. And the smell of the old starplex 12 is coming back. Gross. 3 stars.I love the drafthouse so much. The prices are affordable and I think its much better have someone else go refill my.popcorn aside from me having to make a trip to the lobby for just 1 refill. The movie specials and parties are always fun. I love the fried chicken sandwich and chips and queso. Go enjoy the drafthouse, they also have discounts. I am also a victory member and its literally the best loyalty program.
Service during the matinees is very slow. Waited and waited at the bar for service and finally had to go track down the bar tender who was busy talking and flirting in the kitchen instead of tending bar. After that I had to track him down again to pay the bill or I would have been late for the movie. Same poor service in the theaters. Put up a card and wait long periods of time for service. The smell hasnt improved any either. This has been the case the last three times I have been there and it is not an isolated incident. I prefer THE SPOT in San Marcos instead.Follow Up Feb 5th, 2019 - Walked in the place today to see the WWI documentary only because I could not find a closer theater that had it. Place stank, prices are higher, mixed drinks are now $7 each and again the service was poor. We have decided we wont be going back. The only saving grace to our $74 matinee lunch bill + $16 to see the movie, was the documentary was good. Summary - Over priced, the place smells, poor service, and small portions. $16 for a matinee on a Tuesday afternoon? $7 mixed drinks? Ill Pass... You dont charge resort prices for a place that smells like wet dog and has slow service.
They actually have a vegan section on the menu with 6 or 7 items... Normally, I have to dissect a normal menu. Thanks!
We love going to this Drafthouse. Always friendly service, and and prompt. The food and drinks are great and you cant beat not having to be in a long line or squished by a lot of people.
The only real issue I have with the theater is the age policy. It is even enforced for childrens movies, i.e., Frozen II. On many occasions we are unable to attend early showings because of activities, work, etc and would like to attend a movie in the early evening. I believe the policy should be lifted for Childrens movies....AND, loud, intrusive guests dealt with on a case by case basis.
An all around great experience, service could be a bit faster though. Food was good but the fried pickles were amazing! Be warned, the prices are a bit steep, but not outrageous. Will definitely make another stop next time I visit.
My most favorite theater. great movies and vibes and a lot of fun events.
I have been to all the locations for Alamo Drafthouse in San Antonio. This is a good one that is definitely helped out by the fact that it has an Alamo City Comics attached to it. It has a much different feel to it then other drafthouses, probably because its located in a shopping strip. Feels like walking in a maze to get to your theater, and once inside there is only flat seating rather then the seating set up on an angle. Dont let that stop you from going. It is still Alamo Drafthouse with all the good that comes from the experience you find in other locations.
Went to see Lego 2 movie. Very cute, comfortable seats and friendly staff. Were Vegan and highly recommend the beyond burger and cauliflower wings. Yummy
We showed up for a 5:40 showing at 5:30 and were in our seats before 5:40. The first server to speak to us came by 7:25, just 35 minutes before the end of the movie. I’m glad we ate dinner first because we would have left halfway through! We didn’t order a round of drinks as we had waited over 1.5 hours just to be spoken to. Pathetic service and I have no desire to return.
We were really looking forward to see Angel has Fallen and wouldnt seat us because movie had just started. They still seat us at Creek side...we left and went to a restaurant instead.
Alamo Draft house, has spoiled me for going to the movies. Its really nice to be relax with a cocktail and a bite to eat. Dont go to any other theater.
This is one of my absolute favorite places to go! Its perfect for date night or if you want to go with the family. The food is a little pricey but its worth it, its amazing. The screen quality is great and the seats are spacious and more comfortable than a majority of the theaters Ive been to. Staff are very friendly as well. Highly recommend!!
Literally woke up a 7 to see Endgame and was so worth it the food is great
Food is great. Love the fact that they have vegan optionals! Service and food is always very quick. Only reason Im taking a star away (which I should take 2) is then you walk in it smells SO HORRIBLE like vomit!!! Im not sure if people are bringing their own booze and puking on the way to the bathroom but whatever is happening on that carpet is foul! They need to replace, (sanitize), and put tile or plank.
The theaters are starting to look worn and dated. They have the feel of a wet bar at 2am. I enjoy the seat service, but it can sometimes be slow. The concept has always been good, but other theaters are starting to lap them with comfortable reclining seats, better lighting and acoustics.
First time to see a movie here. Loved getting served snacks and drinks. Servers were friendly and courteous.
