The website says it is open until 5 pm. It also noted the hours may differ. We called and there was nothing noted on the voicemal about any hour changes. We walked all around the building to find the entrance and it was CLOSED! We are very disappointed and I planned this for my husband.

In an old basement, kind of dark and dank but it does have some nice weapons and info about TN military over the years

Really good experience. Some general military; way history, but also very interesting Nashville and Tennessee specific stuff. Surprisingly good for a quick little free museum. Some of the exhibits are a little creepy (weird manaqins) or intense for younger. Id say its great for most kids around 9+

There are so many neat artifacts in this museum. The interactive exhibits make this a pretty cool experience. If youre into the history of our country and a fan of local history, check this place out

CLOSED through the holidays for construction. Schedule wise I understand its a good time to do the work, however since we are visiting from out of town and we looked at their website to plan our visit we would have appreciated a Closed for construction note on their website.

It is a nice little museum. It has mainly photo displays, with a few models. I particularly enjoyed the model of the USS Tennesee armored cruiser. They also have a model of the Little Boy atomic bomb. Although its small, I would definately reccomend stopping by and giving it a look.

Lots of interesting facts that I didnt see at other war museums. Looks like they are getting ready to move. Some of the artifacts out on loan or moved to another location. Check with front desk. Lots of good recommendations. Very warm. Air conditioning not keeping up.

Friendly staff and informative exhibits covering WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Quite a few artifacts from the USS Nashville too, if that floats your boat. Worth a visit (entrance is free) if youre in the area and are interested in military history.

The entrance is hidden on the side of the War Memorial Building. There is a nice collection of military artifacts of Tennessee and Tennesseans starting with the Spanish-American War, but I think it could use a little better organization. There are no public restrooms in the museum.

This place shows some pretty fantastic artifacts. It has audio from pearl harbor, I believe from the radio, there are models of ships from wars. It is small but quite awesome. If you like military history and you are in the area, I say to go. It is free but donations are welcomed.

It was so cool to see all the old things they used in the war. I suggest going there if you are into war things and ships and old antique things.

A little bit smaller than the state museum and quite a few artifacts missing which are going to the new museum set to open in 2018, which I assume is going to incorporate this and the state museum. Maybe with the larger space there will be even more. But for what is here is pretty good. There is still a lot to see and its free.

Very important to have places that honor our lost soldiers! Thank you for keeping this Museum open. That said, it is extremely dark and hard to view many of the memories there. Please find a way to put light on the written history on display. I understand being careful about the garments and flags and such, but the printed and laminated materials are not light sensitive. Also, I would love to see more representation of the Korean War and Vietnam War. This is mostly WWI and WWII. Thank you!

Very interesting. A lot of artifacts from Spanish-American War, World War 1, and World War II. Last time I was there all the artifacts for Sergeant Alvin York have been removed plus a lot of other things. Im wondering if theyre planning on moving it with the State Museum up to near the Farmers Market?

It was a bit older and it was obvious that some of the things in this museum were moved to the newer state museum down the street. They had the history of Tennessee in wars minus the civil war (which is all at the state museum)
