I’m not a car person, but had driven by this place many times. During a covid staycation I finally checked it out and really enjoyed it.The vehicles are beautifully restored, a joy to look at and the history is well explained.I wish they had an ‚activity vehicle’ of some sort where you could maybe drive one designated iconic vehicle on the grounds with their staff or something to make it a little more engaging than just visual - maybe something to think about for the future.Overall, lovely place, not only for car enthusiasts.

Not really my cup of tea, but my husband, father and son all loved it. There were even some fun things for those of us who werent really interested in cars to find (I enjoyed the bikes and the scooter hall). Loved this museum! It was great seeing so many of the cars my dad owned and I grew up with in Ireland. It’s great that all the cars there are drivers and not over restored. So many rare European cars here. The basement tour is a must, it’s a real Aladdins cave of stuff that’s just come in, being worked on or just out of rotation. I particularly enjoyed the Citroen exhibit, to see a Wankel engine GS was a real treat.Overall, can’t speak too highly of this museum, I enjoyed it immensely.

What an eclectic mix of cars! I fully expected to see the usual suspects, Porsche, Ferrari and the like. I was pleasantly surprised to find so many that I knew as a child that werent from those brands. Ive been to Lane several times and its always a great experience. Staff is friendly, the cars are really interesting, and the exhibits are always changing. I think my favorite thing is that they drive most of the cars. Just so cool that thats a big thing for them.On my last trip I had the privilege to see the Nissan Heritage museum which is not always open. Very cool experience with very neat cars. A bonus of that tour is the opportunity to go through the basement of Lane which is literally packed with unique cars. Overall Id say a fun and inexpensive way to spend an afternoon.

This museum is nothing short of amazing. It boasts America’s most extensive collection of European vehicles, and that is evident. Housed in the former Sunbeam bread factory, the clean, open space is full of cars, scooters, bikes, and other assorted vehicles, including two cars propelled with airplane like propellers.I ran across this hidden gem while researching the Tatra car company of Czechoslovakia, and I was elated to see several beautifully restored specimens. The beauty and oddity did not stop there, though. Just observing the Ingenious approaches to locomotion filled one’s imagination with the hours and energy invested into the unique designs.Rex and Jessie were top notch guides. Their knowledge and enthusiasm made conversing about trends, engineering, and styling a true pleasure, and seeing all these magnificent examples tickled the imagination.I am blind and was loaned some cotton gloves, so I could caress the exhibits. Rex and Jessie took the time to make me feel like an honored guest and cheerfully pointed out the unique aspects to each of the vehicles we viewed.

The Lane Motor Museum is a Hidden Gem off The Nashville beaten path of Lower Broadway. It is only 3-Miles Down Murfreesboro Pike from the Country Music Clubs and is a Bargain Admission Price for an afternoon of European Automotive History. You will see many Makes and Models of Vehicles that you probably never knew existed. Every Vehicle is Fully Restored and Operational including Antique Plates. The owner actually Drives Different Vehicles on the Nashville City Streets each Month to Promote the Museum and just have fun watching the People’s Reaction to seeing these Rare Vehicles in Action. His Largest Piece in the Collection is Parked out back and took 4-Hours to Drive the 3-Miles to the Museum from the Riverfront Dock. It is an Army LARC LX8 capable of Loading Full Size Tanks and any other Large Vehicle in the Army’s Inventory. There are over 500-Vehicles in the ever growing collection and on Saturdays they offer a Behind the Scenes Restoration Shop Tour that gives you insight to their processes and a peek at the next Vehicles to appear in the Museum. All in all it’s a Great Way to change the Pace from the Music City Club Scene.
