Shouldnt be considered a trailhead as its shut down and dominated by homeless camps.
It could be a nice trail. I should have read the reviews first. Litter and trash everywhere. There are several homeless campground throughout the trails and woods surrounding the main paved trail. There are panhandlers hanging out at the entrance. We werent bothered by anyone, but it definately didnt feel safe.
This place has the ability to be a bautiful trail, but is made extremely ugly buy the homeless. It is not a safe area ... unpatrolled, clear drug use (shown by the high panhandlers coming from the area), so much trash everywhere...
Massive homeless population and trash everywhere. DANGEROUS!
Stopped by as a part of the battle of Nashville driving tour. Was sorely disappointed to find tons of trash strewn everywhere and a rather large homeless settlement just beyond the trail. Walked in about 20 feet before feeling unsafe and turning around. Such a shame that a place with the history and nature that this place does is treated like that.
Be careful the homeless live here.
Nice green park.
Definitely a couple homeless camps, parks shouldnt allow that. My daughter pointed out that camping is allowed and would be fun. Someone should clear out the trash. The civil war info is unique and should be updated. We went on a Saturday with kids, never felt threatened like some posts say. Light traffic at the park.
Nope! Go elsewhere. Thank God I had my dog with me. Tons of homeless camps, dilapidated tents, old shopping carts, trash and obvious drug use. The police pulled up just as I was leaving. At least they patrol the area.
Very sketchy, lots of trash and homeless camps all around. Definitely don’t recommend
Nice park but looks like there are a couple of homeless tent area.
Please find attached my pictures you requested
Dangerous filled with homeless camps. Shame on Nashville police department. It used to be safe and clean, now its littered with trash and needles.
The Greenway trail is now closed. There are lots of panhandlers camping on the closed trail. Definitely not the safest hiking trail nor is it accessible anymore.
Really creepy place. Lots of abandoned carts (from walmart) along the trail. Lots of trash in the woods. Looks like people regularly camp out here. I was worried about leaving the car in the parking lot alone. The views are great once you get to the river, but wouldnt want to go back.
Lots of campers/homeless. I would agree - did not feel like it was safe.
Homeless people everywhere. Do not go.
Dont come here. Homeless camp only
Nice area
Dont go here!!! All the reviews are true. Not safe! the city really needs to do something about this place.
View of the river is very pretty at sunset, but its risky as others have said its a dangerous place I would count 20+ homeless living in a community back behind lowes.
There are several homeless camps in the park
