I came here at dusk to watch the sunset and the birds come home to roost and it was an amazing experience. The birds get so loud, its unreal. Also the watchtower gives you incredible views of the sunset. The tower itself is a relatively short walk from the parking lot. Neither of the viewfinders worked, so bring your own binoculars if you want to zoom in on the birds.
The marsh was spectacular when we were there and had all the all the bird watching and photographic opportunities you could possibly want. When we were there the marsh was dominated by egrets, storks and an occasional great blue heron. And all of this in the middle of the day in the bright sunlight. We may have caught an exceptionally good viewing time but I encourage everyone to check it out if youre in the area. This was the largest collection of the wonderful birds of Florida that I have ever seen in one place.
Conveniently located. Short walk to the observation tower. Beautiful sunset. And we could see a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral
I would say ... it’s wilderness as God created ... signs everywhere warning of wild bob cats ... so just make sure you don’t go that far in case a cat or an alligator shows up ... make sure you have an umbrella ....
Love the place, lots of wild life all kind. Very relaxing. Amazing view from the observation tower, expectacular!... Just called my attention, even when there are parking for disability and the first store of the observation tower is accessible, there isnt a restroom and no drinking water in the area...
This Ten Thousand Islands NWR Trailhead has a paved parking area and interpretive displays. A gravel road serves as the nature trail with wetlands on both sides. Multiple park benches are positioned at vantage points and an observation tower provides a bird’s eye view of the marsh. The area is teaming with birds, fish, and alligators.
One of the best birding sites in SWFL. Memorable sunsets.
Beautiful spot. An amazing number and variety of birds massing at Sunset. Really something to see!
Marsh Trail is a magical place. Birds galore. Ibis flying in huge numbers to roost in trees for the night made for an incredible show.
An experience youll never forget! If you ever visit, Miami or Naples, Florida, you must visit the Everglades. Restore the Everglades!
We were there at sunset to see thousands of birds gather for the night. If was awesome. Highly recommend this place especially for families. There is an observation tower a short distance from the parking area. Arrive early to get a parking place.
Beautiful trail with a nice lookout.
Great place to commune with nature just 10 miles from Marco Island. Hundreds of wading birds, ducks, plus a few alligators. Great place to take a walk and spend some time in the great outdoors.
Best border location we have found. Arrive sunset and see thousands of birds come in to roost for the evening.
We went at dusk & were lucky enough to have Field Glasses to share. We saw an amazing variety of wild life in a short time. Several species of native birds, alligators, squirrel, frogs. We saw most of these from the observation deck.
Nice walk and able to see some wildlife.
Watching the birds come in to roost at sunset from the observation tower was awesome!
5 stars if you go at dusk, many more birds to see. Bring bug repellent.
Cool day but interesting trip. Excellent guides
Great for wildlife
Very nice great place to take a walk and see lots of wildlife.
Great for a short walk and loads of birds, alligators ....and we saw an otter and a bear was reported. Wood storks, white and snowy egrets, roseate spoonbills, white and glossy ibis, white pelicans, blue winged teal, little green heron, tricolored heron, white phase and great blue heron, pied billed grebe, common moorhen, coot, brown pelican, snail kite.....and more....birds fly in to roost in the evening...2 story observation decks...no bathroom facilities
Nice location with parkinglots. Walk to the lookout tower.
Great place for watching the birds in the evening as they roost for the night. Only 1/4 mile walk from the parking lot to the stand. The stand is raised about 20 feet above the ground and has a good 360 view. Well worth the time spent.
Great view of some alligators but the trail is not long and there is nowhere to go to the restroom so be aware of that before you go there
Very quiet and peaceful
Very nice place to go for a walk in the evening and to bird-watch because all the birds come to roost there at night
One of my favorite places to watch the sunset and to observe all the native florida birds. Great walking trail and observation tower.
Observation tower a short distance up paved trail to view hundreds of birds and wildlife. Handicapped accessible and dogs on leash allowed. Can walk or bike the rest of the unpaved trail. Free!
Loved it, the viewing area was under- cover and a good place to connect with nature loving individuals.
A show case for nature at her most lovely
Beautiful walk, prepare to bring lots of water and sunscreen on this one! In rainy season you will definitely need some killer bug spray and protective clothing. Beware of gators! You are now a walking meat snack.
Tracker I dont know
Great walk, go early take water and a long lens camera. We went in August so very humid early on and lots of bugs! Some are quite happy to be photographed though!
Love it. If u want 2 c a crock this is the place
Cool but nothing incredibly awesome. Road to open field. Gators, birds and biting bugs.
For-Everglades!
Amazing birds, its just about sunset. Very cool
Great views of the sunset with not much effort. A great variety of birds to be seen. It is like a tropical version of Horicon Marsh up in Wisconsin.
This is a great trail to take to see wildlife. We saw multiple kinds of birds and alligators and enjoyed ourselves.
Nice park you can lots of wildlife by and real pretty
Hot, smelly and buggy but is is scenic.
Wildlife galore. Felt like I was stepping back in time. Saw alligators, fish and all kinds of birds. Worth the hike. Bring water for hot days.

Well worth the time stopping. Only walked about a half mile down the trail and we saw dozens of alligators, lots of different species of bird, several snakes, turtles, and butterflies.
