Whether its hiking, fishing or off-roading, this is THE place to see wild Florida! Horseback riding is another way to see the beautiful landscape and wildlife. Bear, panther, deer, big cypress squirrel, gators are just some of the things you can see, all within an hours drive of Naples. Highly recommend!

Picayune Strand is a beautiful state park, there is an abundance of wildlife to see everytime I visit. The roads are a bit rough but passable with caution.

Came down here to hunt white tails. Very beautiful part of Florida. Saw lots of wild life (except a buck of course!! Lol!) turkeys, black bears, hogs, gators, snakes, and tons of birds. Make sure you come with snake boots and a therma cell of something to repel the mosquitos. There is a lot of solitude down here and awesome trails. Would suggest that if you are a mountain biker to be aware of when hunters are out there and understand it is against the law for you to harass a hunter and no one cares about your liberal politics. We are out there to enjoy nature and help manage it so that future generations can continue to enjoy it.

Tried to walk the Sabal Palm Trail, but there was too much standing water about a quarter of a mile in. Much wear rubber boots to hike in Florida.

Had the opportunity to walk the Sabal Palm Trail. Please keep in mind this is the wetlands of Florida so dont expect to keep dry especially during wet/rainy season. If you like hiking in State Forest, I recommend the Florida State Forest Trailwalker Program. It is a great way to experience various forest in Florida .

A Truly amazing and wonderful land track of about 72,000 acres. Wildlife abound. .. Panthers, Bears, Bobcat, Deer, Birds of all kinds and endless roads for exploring. This is a carefully managed area heavily laden with forests, swamps and canals. Some areas allow fishing and limited camping. This is the Everglades at its very best. I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys nature, hiking or exploring. The roads are somewhat course. Most are not paved. Stop by the office and get information from the forest rangers on the park as multiple pamplets are available that further describe the area. Have a great time...

Very nice park/natural area near Naples Florida. Very natural pine flatwoods, wetlands and preserved natural Florida habitats. Lots of native wildlife including deer, hogs, birds and many many more. Good place for a nature walk, but I would recommend that you go in the winter, otherwise bring waders.

Love this place. Its special to me. Dont go onto trails with your car or truck its a fine. Stay on paved or main roads and drive slowly for animal sightings. The eastside of 100th before sunset expect young turkeys and deer. Its nice to go in thru sable palm, 78th to 100th to fakahatchee and out jame memorial trails. Take extra water and bug spray.

This is a beautiful National park but does not offer much as far as activities or amenities. However if youre looking for a true picture of the forest and habitat of deep Southwest Florida you cant miss it.
