Plenty of activities appropriate for kids ages ranging from 10 months to 8 years old. Our 9 year participated but worked through the stations quickly. Love the art connections, theming, and gallery of paintings/sculptures. My 5 year old loved it! Her favorite part was scrubbing the floor near the water station. The menu at the cafe was fun and thoughtful regarding allergies.
Love to bring my little cousins here they always have such a nice time and it’s always super clean
Thank you staff for your kindness; we were visiting out of state and forgot our SNAP card for Museums for All program. You were kind enough to accept alternative documents and let us in. Our family is very grateful!!! The exhibits were amazing and staff was very friendly, especially in the Art Studio. We enjoyed Things People Make exhibit a lot!! This place is also very easy to access on public transportation, definitely a plus for travelers.
Friendly staff, some great exhibits and great price.
Now that my kids are getting older (8 and over) there’s not as much for them to enjoy. I suppose if you join for a year and only go a few times, your kids may be entertained but the museum hasn’t really added any new attractions in the past 3 or 4 years, so our kids are kind of bored with the place now. It’s worth going to a few times but not year after year, once your kids become 8 & up.
Came here on a Friday morning which we were actually able to park this time. Tried to come here previously but couldnt find parking anywhere!! After we got here we noticed school buses so realized there was a field trip going on which was disappointing. Once we got inside we only had to wait a minute to be helped so we thought maybe it wont be too busy inside. We were wrong!!! The kids that were there with their parents were well behaved and played nicely. BUT the kids there on the field trip were running around everywhere and jumping all over everything. If they werent there I think we would have had a better longer experience. About after 2 hours our son asked to leave, which was disappointing because we didnt even go to all the levels. Everything in there was nice, clean, and updated so we appreciated that. Well most likely be back, just hopefully when there isnt a field trip going on.
Hands-on museum perfect for younger children. I was skeptical to try the cafe but it was so cute and kid friendly, with fun shaped kids meals and lots of beverages and healthy food for parents too. The small gift shop is perfect for finding unique toys or gifts. I recommend families with toddlers to get a museum membership and let this be your go-to fun place (especially during bad/cold weather)!
There are so many fun activities, it’s impossible to have a bad day there. Whether it is bubbles, neon light sticks, or a wood workshop, it is always a blast. I wish there was such thing as 6 stars! Its definitely worth going to! It totally rocks! - Rían Pilcher, Local Guide
First time visit. Love the concept of the museum. However, not a solid 5 star because I saw more dust in that place than I would like to. I would imagine it should be cleaned everyday. I understand children play with everything and its going to get dirty but when theres that much dust makes you question how often maintenance is done. If you take care of allergens in the cafe, please address the dust, as some children are sensitive to it and its also an allergen.
This is the best children’s museum in the Chicagoland area. We belong to the Kohls children’s museum in Glenview but it is very dated. Our membership granted us access for 1/2 off to Dupage. Our two year old loved it so much, and I even think our 11 year old liked it too, though he would never admit it.
Best money spent! We got the membership after visiting one time. If you do the calculation, you break even after 3 visits. Not only that, but you get reciprocal entree to other local museums which we used to our benefit. But back to DCM, it is so cute and fun for families with little. Everything is interactive and at the kids eye level. My kids disperse the moment we go inside. Remember to bring extra clothes if you go to the water station!
Would say its expensive. Ive seen other childrens museum which are much bigger and have better facilitate. Just a one time visit in my opinion
Loved it because the kids loved it. Attended my nephews birthday here, we had food and cake in the downstairs board room. Then went up to explore everything DCM had to offer. It was great time and the staff were great.
My son, who is three years old, had a great time at the children’s museum. There is so much fun activities to play with. I was really grateful to see him explore and try new things that he had never experienced before. He was engaged and challenged the entire time.
My two year old loves coming here. They have so many fun activities that will definitely tire the,m out for the rest of the day.
Our family has visited numerous children’s museums in the US and this one is definitely a favorite!Exhibits: There’s a lot to do for all ages (our group had an 18 month old, 4 year old and 6 year old). Some of the favorites were the giant Lite Brite-style board, the water play area, the woodworking shop, the weaving area, and the shadow photo room.Bottom line: Definitely worth a stop. There are coupons available and if you are military (with ID) you get in for free!
Fun and interactive place to bring the kids. My 7 year old and 2 year old had a blast running around playing with the water and wind exhibits. Looked like they had a lot of school type areas that would be open during the school year. Only part I didnt like as much was the cafe, they served only healthy type of food (couldnt get a pop for adults chasing kids all day) and it was small portions so with my kids running around all day and wanting to get some food to refuel wasnt very satisfying. Nothing wrong with healthy food but kids are picky and it would be nice to have some basic kids food there instead of doctoring them up.
The kids always have a ball here. Plenty of activities and very family friendly.
Bright and fun! Go early and hit the cafe early!
Museum is almost not the right word to describe this place. Its way more interactive and hands-on. Be warned that it was really crowded on a Saturday afternoon. I would recommend going on a weekday. There were some really fun and educational interactive exhibits. Unfortunately, some of the exhibits were broken or not working correctly, which was frustrating for kids and adults alike. Overall, it was fun and I would go again on a weekday morning when it hopefully would be less crowded.
If your kids are between 1 and 5, this is awesome place. The yearly membership is the best option. I have took my daughters more than 7 times here and still they like to go here. Every time they enjoyed different activities. During summer holidays, parking will be full and have to park somewhere else.
I don’t appreciate paying full price for a half available museum. We come to play and we are not notified about a half available place. If there is only half available then we should pay half the price. And don’t embarrass me as I’m walking up the steps to say I’m not allowed. Tell me up front. It’s not the first time. And your taking advantage. It’s a great place to be. So please be respectful of ur guests. Ur establishment makes enough money and after all it’s not about that right, it’s about the children and their experience. Creativity, exploration and many inbetweens. So don’t forget big boss. And don’t shake ur head as u read this saying “we don’t get paid enough” ur staff is on their phones or wondering while it’s not an attack on them I’m simply justifying my end as a consumer. Who has paid full price with three times not being allowed to experience all that is there
Super fun place to spend time with the family. The price is also reasonable for the size of the museum. Their special Daniel Tiger exhibit was a wonderful experience for the kids and adults. Well worth the drive. :-)
More for kids under 10 I would say. Nice place though. However, the cafe they have in there is really bad. Hardly new options for kids! Plenty of parking and conviniently located.
Lots of engaging play stations for kids. The water area is unique, and the electrical station is a paradise for kids who love buttons. This place gets very busy on weekends, especially in winter time.
Great place to take the kids. Very educational and creative.
A great place for kids to enjoy and learn. Fabulous space. Tons of parking. Lots of interesting things for kids and parents! They have done good job.
Love this place! Wonderful place for children to play, explore and create! Plus, parents can play too (when their kids will let them)! The restraurant in the basement is decent. It can get crowded during lunch time, but that’s to be expected.
I recently brought my daughter here and it was so fun. She loved it. And the employees were very nice.
Overpriced and overrated. Small and overcrowded childrens play areas (they sell it by having three floors but honestly its just tiny). My middle school cafeteria had better food. Best to save your money and go to the local McDonalds play area!
A nice museum that needs new carpet! I feel the prices are a little high for the value of the museum, but the programs are a nice addition to the exhibit offerings.
This is a moderately sized childrens museum, but young children can spend lots of time here. Babies through kindergarten or first grade will be able to spend hours and hours here (membership is great if you live in the area and want repeat visits!) and never get bored! Older kids will have fun here too, but there isnt as much for them to do so they might get bored a bit quicker.
Great staff, excellent exhibits, my child absolutely loves this place!
Lots of great programs for kids and fun for parents too.
There is no better place in Naperville to bring your kids! So many opportunities for your little ones to learn and grow . HIGHLY recommended!!!
This place is great if you have small children maybe under 10. For the older kids between 10-12 it didnt really hold the interest. But it is fabulous, clean and fun for the little ones. They have a great little cafe with yummy and healthy treats. I would definitely recommend the trip, even if your kids are a bit older. You never know what holds their attention or what new attractions they have that month.
Great place with plenty of activities. Spacious, clean with friendly staff. Unlike some other childrens places, they have a cafeteria in the basement with pretty good food. Too bad it is pretty far from me. If you are local, definitely get the membership, it will pay for itself after 3-4 visits. They do charge fee for all kids and adults attending, so it could get pricy.
Great place. So much fun learning.
The yearly membership is the best option. I have took my daughters more than 7 times here and still they like to go here.
This museum is simply awesome. It has activities, play rooms, and events for infants, toddlers, and kids. My toddler especially LOVED the SplashZone (bring a change of clothes like they suggest, seriously!) and the Young Explorers areas (for children under two). But she enjoyed the whole museum and would have kept us there for many more hours if her naptime hadnt intervened. We will definitely be going back; we converted our admission into a family membership before we left the building. And even though its geared at kids, we had a blast too! The cafe was delicious, healthy, and reasonably priced AND offered food our toddler actually ate. The family bathrooms are really well designed and, for nursing moms, theres also a comfy, private nursing room! This is a wonderful community resource.
Awesome place to bring the kids! They love all of the things to play with and they’re separated nicely so they aren’t running back and forth between things. We received a membership as a gift and have since renewed it so we can keep coming back. Parking can be congested since the lot is shared with Metra commuters, but that’s a minor gripe.
Its the best day out on a winter morning...especially for kids till 6 years..they always have some exhibits...this time I went it was about Daniel tiger neighborhood...but kids have enough to play for few hrs and have loads of fun...try their pesto pizza in the cafeteria..its actually very tasty...I loved their innovative food creations that makes food a art and fun to eat...definitely worth a visit if you have small kids and winter days are getting you tired

This place is nice ..lot of attractive activities for kids. holidays are really busy, so i wish them to have one more family restroom and one more nursing area.
I took my son here when he turned 1 yr. absolutely loved it! So much to do and keeps there little minds going!!
This was our 2nd time trying out this place. It was as bad as the 1st time. Its so over crowded I was afraid I was going to lose my children and this was a monday! Several of the stations didnt work. It was hard for my kids to even get close to any of the stations with the crowd. My kids wanted to leave after about 40 mins. When we were in the water area the smell of chlorine was burning our throats. It was terrible....whatever they clean the goggles with in the tool building area irritated my sons face. We had to park a mile away...The fact they charge for adults is ridiculous...we will not go back.
My kids had a great time! The museum is well maintained and kept really clean. The admission fee is a bit overpriced so I would get there early to get your moneys worth.
I used to take my boys here when they were younger and they had a full day of fun. This is great for kids under 10 years old with many options of learning. You can bring your own food and eat at the food court or order from them. There is plenty of parking for many cars.
Excellent place to take the kids. Fun for all ages. Food is too expensive.
Great place for kids... Clean and friendly
Great place to take your younger children or grandchildren. An entrance fee is a bit overpriced, but its a great place to spend cold Chicago winters. Plenty of hands on activities and staff is courteous and friendly. It gets quite crowded on the weekends and when kids are off school.
A great place for kids to play and learn.
Tad expensive, but the kids love it.

A very just friendly place with lots of options to make them play logically and have fun at the same time. The volunteers are extremely friendly here and ensure that help is there at every section of the museum.. during winters this place is a life saver
One of my kids’ favorite places to go.
Its a cool place for young kids (5 and under) but I think its over priced. Especially since the adults have to pay as well to get in. Bounce houses dont charge for adults to come in and supervise so I dont understand why they would charge. Thats the only thing that makes this place not worth going to. (Its $12 for adults and $12 for kids)
A great place for a joint holiday with children. Children really like to visit there, for them its a real feast. There are a lot of people there on weekends ....
My 7th month old had a blast today! There are three areas especially for children 2 and under that include activities on the floor and busy boards on the wall. My son also enjoyed the water and music areas. There was so much to see well definitely be back again soon.
My little ones love this place. Great way for them to just let out their energy and run around. Even though it can get very crowded at times, the kids are still able to find something to grab their attention. Bought the membership and its well worth it for us.
The place is great. My toddler has a special love for it. Service is very nice, workers are polite, calm, and thoughtful. Cafe is good. Could be better if healthier and more fresh options. Its a place to explore and question. You might realize that to make the experience more interesting you need to learn more physics at least to be one step ahead of your kid. So, it would be nice if they had more pedagogical guidance for each section.
Usually this place is great. But we came today with our family of 4. We live about 40 min away. The main attraction for out little ones is the water and bubbles. That whole exhibit is closed off today. That is a huge part of our experience. Where as I understand the reason. ( they are getting ready for an event they are having in a week) I feel a discount should be given. Its 50$ for a family of 4 to come in here, thats pretty steep normally but ridiculous when a huge exhibit is closed. Then upon closet look many other exhibits were closed as well. Extremely disappointing
My 4 kids love this place. It is my favorite place to take the kids when it isnt super busy. Parking can be a pain, but I have come to realize if I cant find parking thats my sign that its too busy. I love the variety of areas and the rotating upstairs areas. Well worth the membership.
Really great place for kids, toddlers and even autistic kids. There is a lot for them to see and be hands-on with! There are two levels. They have stairs and an elevator to get to the upper level. The upper level gives kids a chance to explore their artsy and creative side with artwork and some craft exhibits. You can easily spend a few hours there. They have their own private parking lot. I would suggest getting a family membership because you will definitely go back a few times. You can also use it to go to a few other childrens museums that accept the membership.
One of our favorite spots!
This place is great for young kids! It pays to get a membership, otherwise its pricey. There are two stories of things to do with a lower level with a cafe. The employees are friendly and helpful. The place is clean. Its great to go on a snowy or rainy day! It can get crowded on weekends but they are open later on Fridays (family night) and we found it less crowded then.
Really great space for kids of all ages. Various areas for kids under 2
My son loves it!
This children museum is very clean and great for children. This is such a great place for families and there is much to do inside. Staff is also very nice.
Super fun place to spend time with the family.
I have been coming to the Dupage childrens museum for the past 14 years. I have a pass to bring the children I care for in my in home childcare. It is a nice place to visit when the weather is not allowing for outside time. The children get to explore in a safe and fun environment. The museum often changes the top floor to different exhibits, they often have art in the studio, children can build something in the workshop area, and they even have a cafe in the lower level. I have been coming to the special events throughout the years as well such as Dora the Explorer visiting long ago, the Owl presentation, a clown show and several more including the one we attended today the bug exhibit where we were able to touch and hold different bugs. Overall, the museum is a great place to go. Only draw back I can find is that there is limited parking and the cost per visit is costly especially if you have multiple people going. Its almost best to buy a pass if you will visit often.
Pretty good place. The kids can run around a bit and learn something new. Lots to see and do. Good for all ages.
My toddler loves this place! They have excellent age appropriate activities. Getting the climb membership is also a great value.
A lot of broken Stuff that they should fix
Expensive. One adult and one child $22!!!! Also it is very dirty around the venue. Dust and dirt everywhere. I highly recommend that they clean regularly which clearly they don’t do or not thorough enough. The activities are ok. Nothing special. About 20% don’t work. I would give it more stars if it was just $5, but for the heavy price I would expect much better.
My daughter absolutely loved it! After we left took only less then 5 min for her to fall asleep! Thinking about taking her there again later in the year
I get the family premier package for my daughters family every year for Christmas. She says its the best present EVER!!!
Best childrens museum in the city. There are endless hours of fun things to do for a variety of different age kids. Also very nice people to help. Make sure you come here
I spent so much of my childhood here. It was an amazing experience and always fun and interesting.
Great place for kids and adults. Very fun and prices are very reasonable.
I love this place! Kids get to explore and try different activities. Theres endless things for them to do. At least go to check it out. I cant imagine any kids not enjoying the place.
Great place for toddlers-young children!
Great fun for 4 & 7 year olds! Poor cell reception and no public WiFi.
Such a great place! First thing my 4 year old daughter said upon leaving was that was fun!! The staff is wonderful, they ensure the children have a safe and fun environment. I will definitely be back!
So much fun for adults and kids. Great for birthday parties and just to go visit.
This place is awesome. $12 per person over 1 year old. Seniors 59 and over get a discount. Active military gets a discount. Staff was courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. Hundreds of HANDS ON EXHIBITS. My 2 and 3 and a half year olds had a blast. They even played through their nap time without a fuss, and that is a first. All EXHIBITS help their critical thinking skills. Definately a recommended atop for anyone with kids looking for something to keep them occupied and out of the elements and burn off some energy.
This place has been a pivotal place for my children. We come here constantly. I’ve been to all the area children’s museums in Chicagoland and DCM is one of the top 3 by far.
My son got a pass for his birthday and he loves it! We go for a couple hours in the mornings to tire him out for nap time. He could live there!
When my family goes to this fun place everyone has fun!
Great place! Kids have Fun, plenty of activities. Awesome experience!
I love this place. It had many activities. I wish they changed it more often but the yearly price is low so I recommend a membership
Overcrowed, not many activities and some station were not working properly
Perfect place to lose the kids (but not for more than one second, the neighbors might notice you didnt bring the kids home). My kids loved this place.
“Great place for the kiddos”There are a lot of activities for kids ages 3 to 9, as those are the ages of my kids. Theres an area to eat snacks in the basement. Definitely a great experience with the kids.
Our one year old had a great time. We thought he may be too young, but we spend about three hours there. A lot to do and well worth it. Even more enjoyable for older kids.
LOVE this place!! Although we lived in California (until December 2016) we came over here for our two childrens 1st birthday! (Since my parents live in the area) Even at that age they had such a blast. It has so many little tasks that they can complete! Like my daughter loves to put scarfs into a clear tube then press the button and a fan blows it up into the air. Now my kids are almost 2 and 4. My son especially loves pressing the buttons, switches, connecting stuff. They have a little art center with paints, clay, and markers. Then an area to build stuff with home depot type stuff; such as wood, screws etc. We have the member ship because the kids love it! If you pay like $60 for the day you can put that money towards an annual membership which starts at $99. Always have changing themes at the museum. Lately is had been Leonard o Da Vinci.
Attended my granddaughters birthday party there today. Wonderful staff, lots of fun activities for all age groups.
