I came from San Antonio, even though I came from city. It just brutally amazing to see such beautiful park with relaxing walk. I highly recommend for those from city who needs some break to enjoy and appreciate the mother nature. Its quiet and relaxing with plenty of things that you can do. Whether itd be with your family or with your couple or friends. Regardless, youll be appreciated after coming over here.
This has always been one of my favorite parks in this city. Its big, it has a nice playground, and lots of open fields. My favorite thing though, is its history. The park was formerly a pecan orchard, and most of the trees have been left. They not only provide shade all day, but during pecan harvesting season the ground is littered with fresh, ripe pecans that fall off the trees.
The park in itself was decent but the nature trail is covered in broken glass. The park was very child friendly though.
Great trail for hiking and a good disc golf course. The childrens play area is cool if you have young children.
Very open space to have a picnic. Good playground for the kids. Great clean walking trail. Lots of shade.
Beautiful 18 disc golf course and walking trails for people and dogs
Fun, open space, with a good playground and kind of a dirty picnic area. Overall a fun place to come and play with the family, just take your lunch elsewhere.
A great place to walk and enjoy quality time with my daughter
Pecan Park has been a favorite place since our grown daughters were little and now its a favorite place for the grandkids. The park looks better than ever with attractive new playground equipment and with ample shade under those gorgeous pecan trees, its a peaceful place to take a break from the craziness of the day.
Lovely park with great trail along creek
Great park! Excellent walking trails with beautiful scenery!
Fun playground for the kiddos.
Nice place to enjoy your time.
Nice park for a walk or a jog. They also have a playground, pavilion and public restrooms
The park is very clean and the walking trails are great, and get more intense the further you go. The only bad thing I have to say about the park is that the restrooms were not very clean when I went, and the doors into the bathroom wouldnt close.
We visited as tourists. This is the best park by far in the city. There is a long walking trail (about 8 miles round trip) and there are three sets of swings for the children. There are also covered picnic tables made of stone and two more that are not covered made of steel. This is the busiest and most popular park in the city. I have been here many times. It is very clean. The only drawback is the bathrooms. The permanent structure is made of steel and it is rusting out. The bathrooms need to be torn down and rebuilt. The city has placed portable toilets (outhouses) in several of the parks rather than build permanent structures to repair those that are breaking down. Additionally, none of the water fountains work at the park or along the four mile walking trail. This is a problem at other parks in the city as well. There is plenty of seating at covered and uncovered picnic tables for small parties and outings.
Great new equipment, well maintained.
The playground looks like a lot of fun. I almost wish I could be little again. The restrooms looked closed with only one available portable toilet for the public. We came here for a walk so we did not stay long. This is a great spot to get on the trails. We found the trails to be well marked and diverse. One way took us on a wooded path the other way took us across the street to the SFA campus gardens with art work.
The park was very clean, well-maintained and beautiful on a hot, summer morning. We came to pick up the Lanana creek trail from there to Main St. in downtown. The trail itself is a very enjoyable semi-maintained, semi-wild path through the thick trees and brush. Though Google maps does not reflect it, the path does continue between Logansport and Martinsville Streets. The trail exits right on Main with the Sterne-Hoya Museum a block away.
Beautiful views. Theres a great trail that goes a long way. Love taking walks here with the family and dogs.
It was a little hard to give this four stars. Only because Im a bit sour about the parking. I had to wait around for a parking place and when my daughter and I finally walked to the park there was only 3 other kids there... and the parking lot was FULL. It hit me that SFA students park there for free to walk to their classes. But, certainly not fair to families who actually want to go out and make memories. As for the ACTUAL park. It was very clean, no liter, and a lot of the play area is shaded. They also have really nice double swings so parents can swing with their little ones. It was a fun experience all in all.
Very good nice cilin
Our family loves the nature trail. We come 2-3 times a week. The park is much better with the new equipment!!
Very clean and beautiful!
Excellent beginner disc golf course with tree and water hazards and some relief.
It has a nice trail that I jog. Easy and fun disc golf course for a beginner like me. They added a new playground which my step daughter seems to really enjoy.
Fun centrally located park for all ages. Good walking trails and disc golf course. The pecan trees provide lots of shade. New playground equipment is a nice update. Large area for walking pets, lounging on a blanket, or throwing a ball.
Went to this park a lot as a kid. Came back to take my son during a visit home. This place has improved drastically.
Dirty and trash all over the place
Beautiful Park. So many people enjoying the day. It was nice!
Great park with disk golf course and access to the La Nana creek trail for light hiking. Brand new play area for kids. Lots of shaded lawn area too.
Nice shady place to just chill
Love this park. Great place to bring your dog or children and the trail is awesome! Great place to just enjoy a piece of nature and relax in the middle of town.
It’s a nice park most of the times has a nice breeze. Got a good little trail running through it. If you’re into frisbee golf they have that here as well.
Great diac golf course
Have visited for years.
My son ran and played with other kids. He had a great time.
Always a great place to take the kids and a place to walk the dogs!
I have loved this place my whole life! Picking pecans is fun and walking the trail. I like that they have kept things that were there when I was a kid. Its cool that I can take pics of my kids that are similar to the ones of me when I was a kid
Great park!
I run here for CC and its always nice and clean before and after the meets. The people working from Nac are always kind and compassionate and really nice to talk to.
Good place....to Have a good outdoor time
Great family park! Been going there since I was a child!
Beautiful scenery. Awesome trails and a great new playground
Very beautiful and peaceful. Also has some historic spots
Awesome place for small children as well as adults. Lots of room to run and play.
Such a nice place for the family,
Beautiful city park and the Lanana Creek Trail runs right through it. Playground equipment for kids and frisbee golf course for bigger kids.
Is lut fam
Nice multi-use park with a 18-hole disc golf course included. pedestrians have the right-of-way on several holes, so you may end up waiting to toss your disc for safetys sake. The disc golf course was intermediate level difficulty, and I believe they are in need of concrete tee pads. Probably not your best choice on a busy weekend, as other park-goers dont really know much about disc golf and may end up setting up a picnic on your favorite hole.
The new playground equipment is more centered towards older children than younger kids. The seesaw is very hard to manage for younger and older kids. Plus it is very uncomfortable. The weekend I went someone had left two overflowing garbage bags outside of the trash container. The water fountain doesnt have cool water.
Great big Park. Great disc golf course. If you have kids, I recommend not just the playground but taking them on an adventure all around the park. The only thing that would really be nice as if they had working public restrooms
I really like this park. Its a huge piece of beautiful land with a play area for both older kids and then a smaller one for younger children. There are trails leading to the nearby Arboretum and a creek that runs alongside the park at the east end. This is a popular place to jog or picnic and also to pick up pecans during pecan season at the south end of the park. College students are often at the park walking animal and playing disc golf. There are also picnic tables throughout the park and a covered eating area with a water spicket for easy clean up of dirty hands and faces and watering thirsty pets.
Great shade from huge pecan and oak trees. Not to mention fabulous new playground equipment! 2019
With the addition of new playground equipment, Pecan Park has re-upped itself as the best park in Nacogdoches.
I WALKED THE LANANA CREEK TRAIL FROM ONE END TO OTHER AND I ALWAYS ENJOY MY TIME ON THE TRAILS. IF YOU ENJOY FISHING THERE ARE SEVERAL SPOTS WITH DEEP WATER WHERE YOU CAN CATCH PLENTY OF FISH AND ENJOY A PLEASANT PEACEFUL EVENING WITH FAMILY OR FRIENDS. I LIKE TO WALK THROUGH THE AZALEA TRAILS AND ALL THE WAY TO THE AG POND AT SFA. THERE ARE LOTS OF EXCELLENT SPOTS AS WELL FOR PICTURES AND VIDEOS FOR FOLKS JUST WANTING SOME PICTURES WITH THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO WEDDINGS AND OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS. ENJOY THE PICTURES AND VIDEOS.

Great space great place. Well maintained and beautiful.
Love the new playground equipment!
Love the new toys. Too many gnats in play area.
Its really awesome to walk your pets, I even witnessed college kids getting drunk on out there, funny! Lol it is right by the SFA so that is to be expected, but oh the beautiful trees, they are so big!
We spend a good amount of time here when weather permits. Lots of kids to play with ours, disc golfers and people walking dogs. Great place for family. ****Be sure you park in the Park Patron spots while SFA is in session or they will ticket your car.
Great place, loved watching my kids play here
We had a great field trip. The kids loved it.
