This place is magical. My wife and I walk here often! Its such a great place. There is a little slice of nature here in Murray. The birds here are great. We saw a Cormorant here swimming in the river. Every season is beautiful here and the paths are easy and relaxing. Would recommend for a nice walk or bike ride 10/10
Beautiful place for a walk, run, or bike ride! Has great classes for elementary school students.
Wonderful to go for a run around this area!
This is a magnificent stop and trailhead along the Jordan River Trail (JRT)! Gorgeous views of the Jordan River and the Wasatch mountains. Beautiful trees, birds, and foliage around this area, and great benches for taking a rest to watch and appreciate nature. There are also some fantastic signs to explain some of the views and plants at which you are looking.
Beautiful spot to fish, walk, bike, and enjoy the outdoors .
This place is a really cool place to fly a drone. Beautiful area and awesome nature location. It was kind of sketchy flying a drone here actually because there are plenty birds of prey in the trees. We kept our eyes on one while he kept is eyes on our drone. Nothing crazy happened but we were concerned.
In the summer and fall it always has great views either it be the birds, the ducks, the beautiful nature scenes or the color of the leaves changing and crunching beneath your feet. Great walking trails. Great way to get away from it all and just relax.
In the middle of suburbia is this natural jewel. I have seen deer, skunk, pelicans. So many birds and animals. I love this area of the Jordan river parkway.
We love visiting here. Mrs. Payne is so passionate and engaging. One of the best field trips is when your kids get to learn about owls. Watching some cringe when dissecting pellets and others really dig in.
Peacful place to have lunch.
Lots of fun information and hands on activities about animals and the seasons. Great for elementary aged students.
I love this place definitely in the spring and fall its like your in the canyon but really your still in the valley and the teacher is amazing we used to go as a class when I was in elementary school and they would teach us about all the different kinds and types of animals and nature lifestyle that lived in the areaDallin B.
Lovely place to come any time of year. There is a paved path and a dirt path, and a park very close by. Restrooms that are nearby close during winter.
One of the few parts of the trail that has plenty of trees. Trees=shade, very welcome in the summer. And great for birds. We also saw a fairly large box turtle in the river, but my wife spooked it before I could get a picture. It was about 2 feet long from head to tail, just down the riverbank next to the nature center amphitheater.
Brilliantly serene, with Mrs Payne being nice and inviting. A great place to take your kids or your date for a calm afternoon with nature.
Great location on the parkway trail
Tons of fun off trails for kids and pets to explore. Its a nice way to get a touch of nature in the day without driving too far.
This is a great place. You can really only come here if you are with a school group though.
One of the best spots along the Jordan River trail. Great natural preserve, well-maintained and beautiful.
This place is awesome. Excellent learning place for young kids.
The trail is so nice and well maintained. Its beautiful and not too crowded
I just jogged past. but when i was a kid this was an awesome field trip
I walk my dog on this path fairly often!
Has an ampitheater and lots of small decks and bridges where you can view the river.
Hidden gem in Murray, who would have thought.
This is a super-cool, lovely little secret spot on the east bank of the Jordan river, known only to west-side Murray folks, east-side Taylorsville folks, and the local homeless population. The trail that runs along the river is covered in wood chips to help it stay dry, which is good because the trail runs between the river and an oxbow lake marsh to the east. In the spring, esp wet ones, small creeks cut their way through the trees from the marsh to drain into the river. There are small wooden foot-bridges, installed by volunteers, to aid in crossing the largest of the creeks, or dry creekbeds, depending upon the time of year. It really is beautiful down there though, cool in the summer from the shade of the trees, which turn all manner of colors in autumn. The only downside is the phenomenon so common around here with dog owners: any park or natural place not packed with people is treated as a de facto off-leash park. I myself like dogs and have no fear of them, but my pit bull, who was attacked by other dogs a number of times when she was younger (before she was my dog), really, really hates dogs running up on her. Im afraid some day there might be a fight, and wont be strong enough to hold back my dog; and she being a pit and bred for such things, wont stop until one of the canine combatants is dead.
Would someone be able to answer my question? I was wondering if this trail is stroller friendly OR do I put my son in my hiking backpack?
I love to go out and listen to the different types of birds, it has frogs. Its always been one of my favorite places to run, hangout with my boys or walk the dog. Its nice and relaxing any time of year.
Loved this trail. Great place for dogs to explore.
It was a great experience to see some of the things they had there. Beautiful!
It was very interesting and fun for the students and parents. The teacher did a lesson on rocks. She was very enthusiastic and into what she was teaching.
The lady there Judith I believe is the BEST! She is so engaging and passionate about it all! Been there a dozen times and she ROCKS!!!
We love the nature center so much! Its a blessing to have this so close to where we live.
My son goes here from time to time with his class. He loves it. We go on walks (adventures) past here, and it is fun to see him brighten up as he remembers the fun he has had previously
Great for exercise or just an walk with the family
