Steak Night at Frenchmans Bend Country Club was very nice. The steaks were cooked as specified and very tender and seasoned just right. Tommy Fields provided such great music. The weather was perfect..we were outside as the full orange moon came up. Temperature started to drop with cool front. Wonderful friends made for a perfect night!

Well maintained course, easy walking course is flat but does have several holes that will challenge you including water. The course is the middle of a neighborhood so backyards come into play down several holes. High handicapper will love this course. Low handicappers will own it.

First time playing there today. Course was in beautiful shape and green feels were very reasonable. All the staff we encountered were kind and extremely helpful. Cant wait to go back!

We came here for their anual yard sale and it was a very nice experience. The residents were very friendly and the houses and the golf course look amazing!

Come get stuck at the gate. Really needs another exit and entrance. If you time it wrong you can get stuck trying to get in or out.

Great Police department, leaving you with a Feeling of security. The fire department very professional, great fishing on the Ouachita River beautiful Bartholomew Bayou. A clean town, with friendly people a beautiful high school and Elementary School. A small town with big Pride thats Sterlington.

FLOODING AT FRENCHMANS BEND MONROE LOUISIANA? WHY ARE ANY OF YOU SURPRISED ? TAKE A LOOK AT ANY MAP OF THE AREA AND OPEN YOUR EYES... GEEZ.. DOESNT TAKE A ROCKET SCIENTIST TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON. IT WAS A HORSE SHOE LAKE THAT IS GOING BACK TO NATURE AND WILL KEEP FLOODING, ALSO IT WAS AN ABORIGINE OCCUPIED SITE FOR OVER 20000 YEARS BECAUSE IT WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PLACES TO COME OUT OF THE OCEAN WHEN LOUISIANA WAS COVERED WITH WATER FOR MILLIONS OF YEARS BECAUSE OF THE BASTROP ALLUVIAL SOIL THERE WHICH IS CLAY BASED AND IS A LITTLE HIGHER THAN OTHER SURROUNDING AREAS PART OF THE LAND THAT IS NOW BASTROP AND LEADING UP TO BASTROP . THE SAME SOIL IS DOMINANT IN THE SWARTZ AREA. Hi, At one time I lived near Frenchmans bend. I used to hunt artifacts there. I found artifacts that were about 18000 to 20000 years old. I was looking at photos of the flooding there you shared. doesnt anyone realize that Frenchmans has only been out of the water for about 20000 years? It was a horse shoe lake of the old Arkansas river that bayou desaird is . Bayou desaird and black bayou were all the arkansas river. Frenchmans is only going back to what it was . A horse shoe lake .. so no one should be suprized that nature is claiming what once belonged to it. as a lake. The land there is the same type of soil as in Bastrop.. its the Bastrop alluvial soil that appeared after the waters of that once covered louisiana were receding.. Here is a map and if you notice on the map it shows frenchmans as horse shoe lake. Anyway ..I was curious why anyone would not think that it would flood there also there are many Native American burial mounds there. That place was occupied for probably 10000 years and there were many people there living and being buried there.. maybe they dont want the people to live there lol.. just joking but it was a horse shoe lake one time just like the ones that are all over the Quachita river. Just a natural thing.. anyway here is the map, check it out..
