Love this place! Did walk in with a group of friends and we had a great time!! Doug was our walk in coach and he was so thorough and all about safety first!Great drinks, good safety and fun atmosphere. Felt very safe in regard to the axes and COVID. Great place to go for a fun event, a date or just to get some stress out. Highly recommend.
Went to Bad Axe this past Friday for my friend’s birthday celebration with some close friends and we had a blast! Rouge was our axe coach and she herself was pretty Bad Axe with bedazzled axes and some sweet trick throws that we got to attempt after some fun games. I would definitely go back. It’s a little spendy but I suppose with the cost of their liability insurance it has to be. Love the option to be able to bring your own food and drinks which can help keep the night a little more affordable.
I took my five sons and I to Bad Axe in mpls to have some fun together and throw axes at targets! A great father son outing! Our coach, John was great! He took the time with us to show us good throwing technique and was just a fun guy all around! I would hands down recommend Bad Axe Mpls to anybody wanting to find a unique and fun group experience! Well done!
First time going this Friday with my girlfriend and the location in Northeast has a professional and polite staff. Never thought about Axe throwing but I will certainly going back with her and have been telling friends about the experience. Great way to enjoy a date night during covid.
Managers name is Rogue, we also worked with Daniel and we had such a great time! Rogue and Daniel were the best coaches we could have, we are definitely coming back!!! Thank you Rogue and Daniel!!!
Fun throwing but unimpressed with how we were treated as walk-ins. Staff did not greet us for 15 minutes and then ignored us until it was convenient for them. We paid them after we were done but then they called us 30 minutes later and told us we didn’t pay. The whole experience here was unorganized and unprofessional.
Staff member Rougue was super friendly and a great instructor! Very personable and all around made our visit that much more fun! We all had a blast woll highly recommended to friends!
Amazing place! Did a walk in and they took care of us well. It was 4 of us and we waited around 10 minutes to get a spot and our instructor Nick was very nice and thorough! We will definitely be coming back and bringing friends! Thank you again for such an fun experience!
Had a great time at Bad Axe! Fun atmosphere and great staff! Loved having the coach there - she was really helpful and easy going.
We walked in without a reservation and were ignored for 15 minutes. We were then told we would have to wait 45 minutes. Over an hour later we were allowed to throw. I understand that their focus is on large groups and that walk ins are less profitable for them, however, the service was terrible.
Rogue taught me how to throw 2 axes and nailed the ragnar twice! Excellent coach!
Great Date Night Idea, Location was great and Staff was friendly. Facility was clean and nice. Only reason I let a star down, was because the boards were very used and missing large chunks. I recommend switching out beat up boards more regularly.
Rogue was amazing. She was a great instructor and my group had so much fun with her. She sure can throw some mean bad axes too! Texas mom
So much fun! Rogue was great and made the experience enjoyable for us all! Will definitely be back!
Went here for a date night and will definitely be back! Super fun activity and reasonably priced.
Great time for my birthday! Our host was great, thanks Rogue! Awesome games and a good time with friends :)
We went to Bad Axe throwing for a friends birthday. Was an amazing time! Coach Kelsey was a rockstar! Fun and energetic spin on things really drove the experience home. Will definitely recommend and come again!
We had my wifes birthday party here and it was great! The food was really good and the beer selection was decent for a small selection (some local brews, which is always appreciated!) Our coach, Axel, did a great job with our less-than-organized group of 20+ as well! It was definitely a worthwhile experience and I hope to get a group to go in the future!
Rogue was a great teacher and the venue was perfect for our group. I’ll be back to master the underhanded throw!
Celebrated my 30th here and I am so glad I did! We booked 2 hours with a coach and I was very impressed. Their website made it so easy to find a date and time that we could all agree on. Our coach Rogue was hilarious and so helpful! She had great games planned and made us all feel comfortable and excited to be there! I would definitely recommend them to anyone!!
I figured axe throwing would be fun but I was wrong, it was f@&king awesome!!! Can’t wait to do it again!!!!
We had a great time at Bad Axe! Dia was the one serving us and showing us the ropes and she was excellent. Would definitely come back here in a heartbeat.
Fun place and not a lot of people on the night we went. Staff is very helpful and fun to deal with.
Had an axe-tastic time throwing with coach Rogue tonight! Highly recommend!!
This place is great! We came here for a work event and brought our own tacos, which is great were allowed to do that! They have a good beer selection, even for cocktail drinkers theres fun cider beers, thats what I had. Our coaches were helpful and enthusiastic about their jobs, in turn making everyone else to enjoy themselves more. The whole place was very clean too, which I find important. This was my first time ax throwing and I loved it, well be back for sure!
Ok- so sounds a little silly- right?? My husband and two adult sons had the most FANTASTIC time that we paid for an additional hour of throwing. We can’t wait to do this again. I wish there was one close like Santa Rosa, CA and I’do this in a flash- we are from the north bay. Fun time, bar food, beer and sodas. Great time!! Two axes at a time is really difficult. Single throwing is a breeze!!Go! Do this NOW!!
We had Kelsey as our instructor and she was a blast, had a bunch of games for us to try and was extremely creative. Would definitely come back
What a great time!!! At first I thought it was going to be a lot of picking up axes from the floor, but was pleasantly surprised that after some wonderful coaching from Nic, everyone in a party was sticking their axes close to 90% of the time. Safety is the name of the game at Bad Axe, something the coach continuously reminded us of during the evening. After the initial coaching we were provided practice time, then were split up into team and played 4 different types of matches. Our Coach fit right in with our group, keeping things lively and fun. I would definitely do it again.
An awesome facility and staff to host both Group events and individual Sessions! Shout out to Coach Rogue who was both entertaining and enthusiastic while giving her tutorials. Our group had a blast playing all of the fun games that they presented to us.
Had a great time with Kelsey coaching our group! Super fun and full of energy!
Kelsey was amazing and made it so much fun. Will absolutely be back again
Did a walk in to bad axe throwing around 4:30. Was first told by one person it was a 3 hour wait. Went to get put on a waiting list, to be told by the person taking names it was a four hour wait. Decided to wait because I’ve been wanting to do this and it was for my birthday. Around 8;40 got a text stating they had an updated time of 10pm for a lane, and if we weren’t going to show to respond other wise show up between 10-10:10. well, we were already there by 7:30 waiting inside. sat there and waited until 10.. to end up seeing our name was crossed off because we didn’t respond to the text. Even tho they didn’t ask us to confirm and groups after us got a lane before us because of that..The actual axe throwing was fun, and i enjoyed it. But, the whole unknown of how long we even got, and the person who showed us instructions, seemed to have rush through it, to which my friend and i didn’t understand i guess because the actual coach came around and showed us what we were doing wrong.Would not wait 5.5 hours again.Would do again if communication was better and better organized i guess.
This was an absolutely amazing experience. Seriously, I want to join a league.
Went there for a second night for my birthday celebration. Love the space - open and never cramped (even pre-COVID). Wait time was minimal. Host (Nick) is a badaxe himself, and taught us very well. I got a few of the trick shots! Perfect spot for group events at reasonable prices. Definitely going back! Love you, Nick!
Had an awesome time here with my wife on a date night. Stopped in an hour before they closed and the guys working couldnt have been more accommodating. Got us checked in right away and after a quick training lesson got us throwing axes. So much fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Phil checked in every 10-15 min to make sure we were good and give a few tips which was great. Definitely going back with friends next time.
We had a great time. Fun for all What a great afternoon with siblings and nieces and nephews! Highly recommend and our coach Doug was great gave tips on throwing and how to adjust throughout. Definitely would go back again!
This was one of the funnest experiences of my life. Was there with a group of ~15 people. We got two lanes for our group to use and our guide ran us through a series of super fun games and such competing against each other as we split into teams. Beer selection was good too!
My wife and I reserved a lane via walk-in. Staff was extremely friendly both while we waited and showing us the proper techniques. Nice beer selection and various games (XL sized jenga and ping pong) to help pass the time before our turn.Axe throwing was fun once you get the hang of it. Multiple ways to throw the axes keep you going once you get good at one or more.
Had an absolutely great time throwing axes and drinking with my buds. This was an excellent start to a bachelor party. I can’t recommend Jason enough as an instructor/master of games - he was very professional, fun, and incredibly kind the entire two hours we threw. Definitely would go back again.
I was there for an office holiday party so we had a larger group. Many of us had never thrown an ax before. The coaches were very nice and helpful. Our group really enjoyed the experience and we continued to talk about it well after we left. Id definitely go back to do it again.
Thank you Rogue for a great experience. We had a group of 8 and it was all our first time throwing. We had a fabulous time! Enjoyable, fun, competitive! Cant wait to come back again!
My daughter wanted to throw axes for her birthday, so we did! Having the option to just hang out and watch was very nice. It was great that we could bring in snacks. Axel was a very fun, patient teacher! We would definitely go back again. Thanks.
I went here with a work group a couple of weeks ago. I didnt really know what to expect, but it was so much fun! Our instructor, Rogue, was excellent at getting everyone involved and keeping the energy high. We had a great time.
I went here for the first time last night for a work Christmas party and had an absolute blast! Who knew I had a secret talent of throwing axes?! Plus the instructors Blake and Phil were fabulous at what they do and helping everyone out to have the best experience and it didnt hurt that Blake was also nice to look at . Would definitely be back!
Great time. Was there for a birthday party. Everyone learned how to throw from our instructor and played a bunch of fun games. Even learned to throw two at one target, two at different targets, underhand, one handed and two targets underhand. Definitely a must try once experience. Also loved the only credit cards and no surcharging. The way a business should be run. Bravo.
I went on a Saturday with some friends for my bachelorette party and we all had a blast! None of us had ever thrown axes before, but our coach (I forgot her name) was friendly and knowledgeable and VERY patient with one of our crew that just wasnt getting the hang of it. She spent extra time helping my friend adjust how she was throwing until she got it and finally landed an axe on the target. They had upbeat music playing the whole time, and designed throwing games for us to play so there was no boredom. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend this as a fun activity for groups of all skill levels.
First timer - went with a group of colleagues for a team building activity. It was a great experience from the moment we walked in the door! They confirmed the group we with as soon as we arrived and that our waivers had been signed. They had beverages and table games to entertain us while we waited for the rest of our group to arrive.Rouge was our hostess and she checked in often until our entire party arrived and took care of us the whole evening!! She gave great throwing instructions and had creative game ideas to keep our large group engaged!!!I would definitely plan another event here or would just go with friends!
We had our law firm holiday party here. It was a blast. Two teachers showed us the basics and then the competition was on. We ordered in pizza and stayed for about two hours. Everyone commented on the original idea for a party and how fun it was. I would highly recommend it for a business outing.
Everybody there was so nice my group felt so welcome
Our family had a lot of fun ax throwing. We did have to wait about an hour as walk-ins but the time went fast. We will do this again. Good family activity when your kids are teens and young adults.
My boyfriend and I were walk-ins the other day and we had a great experience. The guys that were there were pretty cool. Facility is really nice and clean. Love the art on the walls. Theres plenty of space to throw. We threw for an hour. Visited with two of the coaches there. We will definitely be back. The only thing was, we couldnt find the actual building right away. Its kind of tucked away, but if you pay attention and follow the signs they have directing you were to go, youll find it right away.I highly recommend this place if youre looking to try something new and its a nice place for a novice start.
I went here for my bachelorette party, and we had a ton of fun! All my girls loved this place. The only reason it didnt get five stars is because the coach wasnt as energetic as I would have liked. The coach knew his stuff, but seemed like he would have preferred being with a different group of people.
The disappointment of not sticking a throw in the board is overshadowed by the pride of chopping bullseye and the staff had a few pointers to make that happen.
We were all first time throwers and decided to do axe throwing for a unique experience a 60th birthday celebration. It was great and everyone had a good time, including those who just were spectators. Most were able to stick the axe and all said that we should do it again.
Fun environment. Really easy to get started. Staff are nice. Limited food and drink menu, but still good for a few snacks and drinks while playing!
We were there for a work event and it was one of the best nights ever. Rogue was an amazing coach and you could tell she loved her job. I can’t wait to come back.
It was my first time going to Bad Ax. It was about an hour total wait time but well worth it. They have a ping pong table and refreshments (beer...). To pass the time while u wait. The instructors are enthusiastic and entertaining. It was a great time.
We had an awesome time here! The coaches do an amazing job and have lots of games and trick shots for you to try. I went with a group of 10.
The area behind each set of targets is very narrow. It’s unsafe how people CONSTANTLY walk behind you, meaning you have to pause and be interrupted multiple times. We also were not allowed to have two of the same axes because there were only enough for one. They were very rude about it. Each person that runs your group gets paid individually so I’m guessing that they want to keep the ones for themselves and their other groups. It was all very rude.
Booking an event was easy! We brought our own food and drinks. The coach paired with us was funny and easy going and kept the two hour session moving with safety, games, and teaching us trick shots. I highly recommend booking an event if this is a first time thing for you. My friends and I are excited to go back during a walk in time to play some of the games we learned.
So fun! Give it a try. Blake was a great coach and super helpful! This is a fun team event and/date night. They do have pizzas available and water, beer, sodas
Awesome, fun environment! Growing business that deserves attention from the public, employees are great, supportive and very willing to help! Great date night experience, we will be returning with a few more couples. Definitely a great place for a larger group to have a blast together!
Had a blast here! Perfect idea for a Date night or just hanging out with Friends. Staff gave me some quick pointers to get started and to my surprise I wasnt as bad as I thought I was going to be! Will be back!
Such a great place! We had Axel as our coach, and we couldnt have asked for a better one! She was fun and very helpful in demonstrating the different ways to throw! Highly recommend asking for her to lead your group!
Had a great time at Bad Axe Throwing! We did a team event for work and it was awesome. The instructor was really great and was able to help us UP are game. Bring a few friends and grab a few cold ones!
Bad Axe was a ton of fun! Came with a large group and coach Blake was very patient with us and kept it super fun! Will definitely come back and bring my friends and coworkers.
Had lots of fun celebrating a bachelorette party at the Minneapolis location! Our coach was Kim and she did a great job! Would recommend this for anyone wanting to do something different! 10/10 would go again
Thank you Kelsey! What a fun thing to do!
Went here for a professional event. We had a lot of fun. Great staff and very friendly instructors. All in all a fantastic experience!
We did a walk-in and were able to start right away! The employees were professional but fun. The walk-in coach that went over rules and how to throw different ways was knowledgeable, helpful and enthusiastic. They do have some food and drinks you can order which is nice. We will definitely go again!
What a fun and different way to spend a Friday night! We all agreed this was a good time. And as the evenIng’s DD, it was much more enjoyable than a bar!
We had a work party here and it was great! Coach Kim fit right in with us and explained everything. Her game suggestions and trick throws training made it a blast for all of us. Well definitely be back!!
Great fun had by all! Our instructor was friendly and made sure we were safe and had a good time. I would definitely go back, however it is a bit expensive so would just go for special events.
The staff were friendly and fun, leading to a great experience. This was my first time trying axe throwing but will definitely be looking to come back with a group. They even taught us some trick shots!
This was our first experience at Bad Axe and we will definitely return! Rogue was a great coach--lots of patience and good-natured encouragement. Bravo!
Bad Axe Throwing was a ton of fun, and I would definitely recommend checking it out with a medium to large group of people! The staff was friendly and helpful (they even offered up a pair of shoes for one of our throwers who forgot to bring closed toed shoes)! The place is a little hard to find, but theres plenty of parking and the pin drop on Google Maps is accurate (go around the back side of the building and look for the axe target outside).
The staff was very helpful and knew exactly what they were doing. The atmosphere was great and I enjoyed the music choice. I would highly recommend it
What a great group outing. The guys at Bad Axe showed us how to (properly) throw axes and led us through a number of fun games - both team competition and tournament and we had a great time! I will absolutely be coming back again in the future.
A small group of us came in as walk ins and we loved it! The wait was manageable since they have beer you can buy and games to play while waiting. Kelsey was our walk in coach and gave each of the four of us one small pointer and all of a sudden our axes were sticking! If you can request a coach ask for Kelsey! We are already planning our next visit, maybe this time we will make a reservation to skip the waiting.
Super fun way to celebrate a birthday! Great environment and staff. Coach Doug was phenomenal. He helped you with technique and ways to improve but more importantly was engaging and fun. He interacted with everyone and made sure we were all having a good time! Cant wait to go again and kudos to Doug for being a great coach!!
Good times! We had a team building event, and it was great fun! Didnt realize that axe throwing is like a golf swing -- all about timing and hand/eye coordination.
