Great local park. Ice skating, hockey, broomball and skedding in winter. Three playgrounds a shallow swimming pool baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis a walk-jog trail the rest of the year. The park also has youth organized sports through the Minneapolis Park Board. Great place for a piinic volleyball standards bring your own net.
I helped set up and clean up a community food event here and it was a good spot. Accessible, wide open gym space, smaller class/activity room, and a kitchen available to use.Staff was also quite friendly and helpful when we needed guidance regarding site amenities.
A fine recreation center building with ample room and attentive staff who have helped my B.I.G. a brain injury support group/social club which meets the first Saturday of every month. Yet for this coming July and September 2015, we will meet on the second Saturday do to July 4 and Labor Day holidays. My group has several members who use walkers or wheelchairs, I addressed the park staff concerning the lack of ADA access doors. As it turns out the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is already addressing this ADA access issue systemwide, and the plans are to have all facilities be installed with updated ADA access by the end of the summer. We have yet to exercise all options for facilities, games and equipment, programs and outdoor amenities, but then nicer whether is coming already. Peace.
