Really interesting space. Very versatile. Was here to see G.B. Leighton play. Show was excellent, sound and lighting were all well-done and made sense. The bar might have been a bit small/understaffed, but the crew working it were attentive and moved as quickly as possible to get people their drinks.Really the only thing lacking is parking. Be prepared to walk a bit (a block or two).

Great diversity in booking performing musicians and quality sound systems. The venue recently remodeled their rooms beautifully, and they continue to make noticeable improvements. Its great to see a place reinvest in creating a great vibe and experience.Top it off with friendly, attentive staff and interesting events, and I cant help but consider this place a gem.

Most venues Ive been to around the city have mediocre sound quality, or just blasting loud. This was a completely different experience. The sound guy walked around and sat in different places all night and adjusted the audio throughout. Per band, per song. It made for an amazing performance by the musicians, and by that alone, Id go back.Theres a little bar by the entrance that sells water, beer and wine.Bathrooms are all individual, and they were clean.Worth a visit for a show.

The Hook and Ladder is becoming a top destination for high quality affordable music. With two venues - the Main Room and the small, cozy Mission Room, there is an amazing variety of music from which to choose. Just heard an awesome tribute to Warren Zevon. Just down the block, Arbeiter Brewing will open soon (in the old Harriet Brewing space (RIP)). Lots going on in the old firehouse!

Nice concert venue, funky and eclectic. Good sound system, great schedule of performers. Seating is limited and pretty uncomfortable, but most people were up and dancing, so it didnt matter. These are the kind of places that I used to frequent in my youth. Glad they still exist. Definitely returning.

Fantastic intimate music venue. Now has two separate listening rooms. One with a garage door that opens onto the patio. Seems as if the spaces were designed by musicians for musicians. I love it.

Great venue for live music. The feel of the room is very cozy, and cool. Simple, but yet a cool vibe. Enough area to watch the band up close, or hang back and have a drink or a conversation. The sound is great. There is an excellent beer selection if you are into craft beers. Staff are friendly. the bathrooms are clean. If you are height challenged, you can have difficulty seeing from the mid area of the floor in front of the stage, but concert goers there seem to be polite, and let us short people move to the front.

Web page and facebook page said differing opening times. Went and had to stand in line ( of which several people butted into) for an hour along with many others who read the same info as we did. Ticket prices also increased from the web page by $5.00. Woman who was giving our wrist bands was just rude. No tact or friendliness at all.... just barked orders at everyone like we were in kindergarten. This is pretty much a standing place... not many chairs or tables. Stage is nice, sound was OK... a bit loud near the front. Canned beer only... but it was very cold.. Bartenders were good.... not much to do but get requested cans out of the coolers. If you like to listen to good music standing up all night with no place to put your beer, this place is for you. The saving grace is that they do have good music offerings... but for the rest.... meh.
