I think they do a great job of booking awesome performers here. When I see a musician I adore is coming to town, this is the place that booked them. I know I can always look at their line up for great shows. They could do a bit more to revamp the old movie theatre setting and make the environment a bit more fun. I would add that while I was injured and using crutches, the staff were extremely accommodating and made sure I had elevator access all night long - I really appreciated this. On two visits they did this for me and were very patient and helpful about it, even if I just wanted to step out to smoke. Always amazing music and great performances here.

Saw Street Sects here. Nice dive bar atmosphere. Some seating. Would see other shows here. Cant say Id have any other desire to come here though.

Tried to find a fun 18+ location Downtown for my Bachelorette party as one of my bridesmaids was not 21 yet. There was a large line outside and they told us they were 18+ so we thought we’d check it out. Turns out the line was for a concert upstairs, not Bar Fly. There was NO ONE! We danced on the poles for a little bit and then requested a song that did not get played. Overall it was a waste of the $5 to get in. I would not recommend Bar Fly.

Great space for a concert. Was upstairs, and it looked like there was seats available, but were blocked off. Staff was a little rough. Drink prices high.

Worst 18+ nightclub I’ve ever been to, advertised on website to be 15$ then charged 25$, smelled like weed the moment you get to the 4th floor, left within 10 minutes, rave/techno music where people stand 5 feet apart and bob their head up and down, coat check is 4$, not friendly staff, sketchy environment, thumbs down bruh.

We were looking to have a good time and spent not too terribly much time in line. We paid $50 for 5 of us to go in to the club portion, where we found the room completely empty with only three people in the room sitting in a corner booth. The guy who rung us in grinned as we walked out in frustration. Not the best way to start the night.

I would give it zero stars if I could... tried to find a fun 18+ club and the reviews were extremely misleading. It was a stupid amount of money (cheap for a club, $8 a person) for nothing. Also wasted $3.50 to check my coat?? Anyways when I say for nothing I really mean nothing. There were THREE PEOPLE. THREE!! It was embarrassingly sad and I wish the people who charged us would have said something. Couldve saved some money. For anyone considering to go, dont.

My friend and I had a great time at the Barfly! It was a great time out. The music was great, however, service was slow, due to how many people were in the bar. All around great time, I am definitely looking forward to going back!

Walked in the door and asked if there was a bunch of people inside they said yes and there was 4 people not counting the bar tender not good. There website says +21 girls and guys $8 but our group was charged $10 a person because of a last minute price change by the manager. Beware coming here.

Very nice! I came here for a bachelorette party. They gave us drinks all night long. When I switched to water, it was no problem. they even gave me bottled water. The bartenders were amazing. very friendly! There was a creepy guy there saying he was a porn star and made 500k a year.. beware of him.

This place has definitely gone downhill over the years. Now its overpriced for nothing, the bar is just a club bar so its nothing special and the environment is not inviting. Ive found this place dirty in multiple occasions and the staff is never friendly. If youre going there for a show or a specific artist, you can bypass alot of whats wrong with this place by just focusing on your friends and the experience but I wouldnt pick this place just to go clubbing, ever.

Young college crowd - downside for me. Otherwise, love the sound system and lights here. Drinks are priced differently on each level of this club; I wonder if they like being weird or theyre just scamming their guests who just wanna have some fun.

Bar Fly is an awesome place to come to. Its a great space for people to come out with friends, practice flow toys, dance, and grab a couple drinks! My favorite time to go to Bar Fly is Tuesday nights for Amplitude. They get great local DJs to play and its SUPER cheap ($3-21+)

Went to Bar Fly today, around 11pm, with a friend who’s 19, I’m older than 21.She was asked to pay 20$.We showed them that it’s supposed to be 8$ for 21+ and 10$ for 18+So we paid for that and they told us we couldn’t go upstairs then.Downstairs were 1 1/2 floors. A bigger one and an entry area.The music was ok, but not my favorite kind of EDM. I expected better.Another aspect that needs to be mentioned is that there were basically no people. There was one lady snoozing in one of the booths. I could count the other people that were hanging out there on one hand and the number on the dance floor was negative 2.To sum it up, we wasted 20 minutes of our lives in there.

I went to The Loft for a couple of hip hop/skating/live painting events last year. It was a huge space, lots of room so you dont have to fight to get around people....like most clubs. Bar service was fast and friendly, it was nice to not wait 20 minutes to wait for service from a bartender who thinks theyre a rockstar (you know the type)...it was a fun event, hopefully they do more like these in the future!!!!!!!!!! Lots of stuff going on at once, lots of stuff to do without lots of waiting times in between set times....Id go again. and again.

Complete waste of time. Went there on a Saturday night, and the only action was upstairs at vanic, which was 35 bucks to get into for guys. False advertising by the people in the front (its gonna be jumping soon among other things) led my small group into Barfly, which was completely dead. If theres no one in there, there is no point of being there. We left after about a disappointing half hour. THIS IS YOUR WARNING.

I love Bar Fly! Great weekly Events like Amplitude on Tuesday nights and Switch on Thursdays. Good drink specials. Last event I went to was Switch Hop featuring DJs and hip-hop act School Systm had a good time with my friends

$15 to get into an empty club on a Saturday midnight, An extra 15 to go upstairs sausage fest dance floor, go anywhere but here. RIPOFF!

Im a regular here, I attend most Switchs on Thursdays, Amplitudes on Tuesdays, and spend most weekends here or in the loft. I understand bartenders arent vending machines as one told me the other night there, but he was very rude to me, and refused to give me a glass of water unless I gave him a dollar. Pretty sure theres a law against a bar denying a guest water.... and I cant bring in my own bottle, even if its empty. So rude, and still pretty pissed about it. Also had previous problems with this particular bartender. Nothing against the venue, I always have a blast here! Just wanted a stupid cup of water.

I went here last night with a group of friends. They said they would have fire dancers and snake charmers from 9-11pm. We got there at 8:30 and there wasnt a soul to be found other than the staff. The only people that werent lounging around were the bartender near the entrance, the girl at the door, and the DJ. We sat down and got some drinks, and chatted until 9:00 came around and nothing had changed. My friend asked the DJ when the dancers and charmers would be starting and the DJ told him They should start any time now. Any time indeed... We stuck around because my friend REALLY wanted to see the show but he was the only one who wanted to stay. Other people didnt show up until around 10:00 and we all sat around awkwardly until people started dancing closer to 11:00. Then, FINALLY at 11:30 the performers started. They were neat but spread out their short act (only a couple minutes for each performance) over an hour and a half by taking long breaks between. My other friend forced me onto the dance floor and while dancing I was grabbed, bumped, and groped constantly. Very uncomfortable.The only highlights of the night: I got to touch the big python the snake charmer had around his neck, and the bartender by the door (not the lady in the dance area) mixed some great drinks.Also, a fight broke out right next to us and by the time a bouncer showed up the people who started the fight had bolted and left two girls on the floor. The two girls as well as two guys who tried to do the bouncers job got kicked out while the girl who attacked them in the first place was left alone.And my favorite hat was stolen, seriously? Just dont go here unless you want to be sexually assaulted, robbed, and attacked. Yuck, I still feel like I have cooties.

Horrible place to go to! first of all this bar is 18+ so if youre between 18-21, they would charge you more. That makes no sense!!!

Many of the reviews here are obviously expecting something different than what Barfly offers. The Loft upstairs is for big dubstep shows, the recently opened Skyway Theater is trying out a hippie jam band kind of thing (think bands that would play at the cabooze), and Barfly proper is where 20-something ravers, festival kids, and bros come to get down four nights a week. Expect cheap drinks, a young crowd, and loud electronic.The bartenders are nice, theres 2-for-1s until 10:30-11:00 every night, and the crowd is friendly and down.If youre 18-30, and you like dancing or techno, give it a shot some Tuesday or Thursday (Amplitude and Switch, respectively).
