Ive stopped in here twice and had the same experience both times. Bartenders who just stand there, have no personal skills, dont greet you, and are happier talking with the few regulars who must keep this place afloat, than they are to take your drink order. The drinks are terrible, even the coke tastes off. Ive ordered simple drinks like Jack and Coke or Capt/Coke and they just taste terrible. Didnt even finish my last one, just left it half empty. Maybe the glasses have soap in them or something, or just are not properly cleaned?. And they cost $9 for such a small, bad tasting drink. Expensive with bad drinks, no personality, and a dark dirty bar just doesnt cut it in todays world.This is a small, lame bar with not much to offer other than a decent location and trying to capitalize on the gay scene. Sad the place is so pitifully managed. Ill not be back.

I’m straight, but open minded, and I have liked hanging out in this place in the past because the drinks are strong and the atmosphere is really fun.Most recent visit though, I was sitting in the couches in the back with a friend when a bartender walked back to us and said he noticed it had been half an hour since either of us had last bought a drink, and that we needed to either order a drink right now or get out.It wasn’t even a weekend.So I got out, and I definitely won’t be coming back because of that bs

$ 8 for a beer it is unacceptable. Then I go to the Saloon, the beer is $ 3.5 up to 9PM then $ 4.5 and with a much better atmosphere.

The only reason I give it 2 stars is because of the location. IT IS EASY TO GET SOMEWHERE ELSE. If the smell doesnt make you want to leave, the staff will. The bartender dropped my lime on the counter, picked it back up and put it in my drink. When I explained I didnt want the drink, he seemed confused. So he obviously has not been trained. If you are the type that likes 3 dollar strippers, this might be a fit for you however.

This bar is amazing. Nate is the best person/bartender around. Cheap strong drinks and a wonderful atmosphere. Ignore the other reviews. Those people are obviously obnoxious and lost.

Fun people, highly entertaining! We felt so at ease we let one of our group stay alone to rest while we checked out other clubs. Seth kept an eye on her and even donated an extra coat to keep her warm while we waited for our uber. Seth deserves a raise!

The Brass Rail has one of the most eclectic customer bases in the Minneapolis gay scene. Generally more popular with a crowd older than 30, this gay bar and lounge has male dancers and some private VIP seating areas. Generally no cover and you can expect to pay about $4 for a rail drink.

Tonight I visited again after my parener passed away. And I made a fool of myself before. But this time I was doing my own thing and not being too much. But the security guard kickeded me out due to personal feelings hurt. This time he hurt the bartender getting a $10,000 tip. Dude with tats on the neck and skinny, thank him. You’re security (I imagine your bar?). Just threw away a great tip. My partner died and I’ve had a tough time and was just looking for a place to have fun

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere.

The Bartender was a complete jerk to my female friend. She order $30 worth of food and he didnt even give her any napkins or salt and pepper. When she wanted another drink I had to walk to the other side of the bar where he was laughing it up with the strippers from Dream Girls. They get special treatment. I guess its because both bars are owned by the same owner. Worst staff around. Only one bartender there that has good PR. I heard them call him Geronimo.

Apparently being Black or of color is a reason to get kicked out of this bar. I was exploring the city and I go called out. I asked why and all they could eay was because someone said so. Not a very accepting bar

I always have fun at this place. The servers, dancers, and customers are great and friendly.

Strong drinks the time I accidentally walked in. I couldnt complain about that.

Of you like watching straight bartenders dumping whole glasses of ice on customers sitting at the bar then laughing at them along with other staff members and strippers, by all means go for it. Drinks are weak and overpriced. I was embarrassed for the two different patrons endure this humiliation. I left and will never be back. Shame on these people.

Never a top gay spot for me. I hear that theyve done some upgrades so maybe I will give it another shot.
