My family has been customers of Artistic Indulgence for more than ten years now. We first bought two small jazz pieces and have in the time since, purchased a number of original artworks by Mike and Irene, and other artists whose work is displayed at the gallery from day to day and also during artist showcases. Some of the artworks we have purchased have been commissions, which is a great process. To bring a few ideas of a subject and then see Mike’s talent bring those ideas through to a canvas or board is truly incredible. We have also had quite a number of pieces framed at the shop. The gallery has a large selection of frames from which to choose and it’s always been easy to find a few that could go great with the subject. The colors and styles of the mat board and frames that are recommended have always been pleasing to our eyes and made the selection process quick and painless. We’re thrilled to have had Artistic Indulgence in our lives during this past decade.

I used Artistic Indulgence for framing at their previous location and lost track of them when they moved. Several months ago I found them again.I brought in several pieces of art and spent 2+ hours with Mike finding the right frames for the pieces. He gave me the cost for each piece up front. Since then Ive been bringing in pieces one or two at a time for framing. The results are always fabulous and the prices were what was agreed up.I cannot sing the praises of Artistic Indulgences loudly enough.

I had an amazing experience with Mike at Artistic Indulgence! A precious gift of a Burmese Bible was given to me and needed framing. After researching online master framers in the Twin Cities area, I decided on Artistic indulgence because of his work with asian art. The reviews did not do him justice. He is a master framer and artist and genuinely kind person all rolled into one! He had the vision to see what I wanted and encouraged me to go with my gut. The finished product is a masterpiece, worthy of a spot in a museum. I cannot thank him enough, I am happy every time I look at the Burmese Bible. It was karma that brought us together, of that I am sure! Thanks again Mike!

They did a fantastic job. What I needed was input without forcefulness (from the framer) and also a meticulous nature. I got just that. A lot of options were provided, attention to detail was very apparent, and they also took the time to explain their rationale behind decisions (such as museum glass and different frames that accent photos). I am so happy with the final product. I will most definitely use Artistic Indulgence in the future again.

I have used Artistic Indulgence for years. I have never had a problem or issue of any kind with their services. Their artistic flair and professionalism is bar none. And I say their because it is a family affair, a family that I have grown to love and the privilege to call friends. If I have any complaint is that when displaying my artwork, Mikes mat work and framing get more of the attention! I truly have never seen anywhere else the quality and craftsmanship that is only available at Artistic Indulgence!

I had the pleasure of meeting Mike & Irene of Artistic Indulgence many years ago when it was located in Okmulgee Okla. We had several prints & pictures framed by them. All are still in great shape thanks to the Preservation Framing. They are not only great artists, but true masters of their craft. Always pleasant, framing always delivered when promised.Should also be noted that we found that pricing was more than fair. Do not call around town with your dimensions to find a lower price, because Quality & Craftsmanship has a value.

We needed 3 pieces framed and all had different colors but were going in the same room. Mike not only helped pick a frame that would tie all 3 together but that would also work in our space...all while our two young boys were tearing around his shop. Mike had excellent communication during the entire process and his artistic eye led to a superb end product...something you will not find at the big box stores. One of my prints was not clearly signed and he was able to assist me in getting in touch with the artist who custom signed the piece for me!!! A+++

Not finding a frame to our liking at the local discount craft store we saw the sign for Artistic Indulgence and went in. Are we ever glad we did!! Not only did Mike have several frames that appealed to us from which to choose he also had the eye and experience of an artist to help us select the mat and color which would accentuate our print. I have had several oil paintings framed by Mike. He really helped me choose the perfect finish, width, color and style to complement the picture. It was always ready on time and he called me when it was ready for pick-up.They have so many unique styles and price points for frames...I could have stayed in there forever!

I have been going to Artistic Indulgence for my framing for over 5 years, and I think its the best in the Twin Cities. What I really appreciate about the owner Mike is that he will suggest ideas to highlight the particular piece of art while taking my own personal taste into consideration. I always feel like I leave with a much better result than I could have dreamed up on my own, and it still is totally my style.The service is excellent—he always tells me how long it will take to complete the project, and if there is ever any delay (this rarely occurs) he lets me know right away and explains exactly why. He is an easy-going guy and a pleasure to work with—I feel like he listens very well and respects his clients. The quality is better than any Ive seen—he is very skilled, works with quality materials, and has the desire to make the client happy. Of course it helps that he is a talented artist himself, so he has that artistic eye and understanding of artwork that adds so much to his framing.I love the new location on 1618 Central Avenue in Minneapolis—the exposed brick sets off the art gallery and frame samples, and there is a nice big parking lot!

We have worked with Mike and Irene for over 10 years. They have framed and matted art that we have purchased both locally and works that we bought when traveling. Over the years I have made several trips to SE Asia and returned with original art from Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and Thailand. As I write this, I am looking at three orignal paintings that I purchased in Hue and Hanoi. The staff at Artistic Indulgence took the time to help me choose a method of presentation that quite literally caused goosebumps to rise on my skin when I picked up these pieces a little over one week ago. I have never been disappointed with any of the framing that has been done at Artistic Indulgence and there is no doubt that I will continue to make use of the excellent service that they provide.

Finally decided to get my U of M diploma framed after nearly 30 years. Not being artistically inclined, I asked Mike to select the best frame and materials for this project. He took care of everything, and it came out beautifully!

Honestly, before I knew Mike Menasco and his Artistic Indulgence gallery, I didn’t pay enough attention on how important it is to get the right frame for a piece of art. I simply put my posters, prints etc. in cheap swap-frames, suitable in colour at best, and then I thought: “Yep, looking good.” I was not - at all - aware of the fact that I could look at it and think: “Heyheyhey wow, that looks amazing!” Mike has the rare ability to “complete” art work by framing it in his very special way. The best comparison is a tasty BBQ: Nice to have a lean steak professionally grilled. But one can also make it an unforgettable memory when you serve delicious side dishes, deliver the meal in a beautiful garden and add a bunch of good friends. And that is what Mike does. He’s not only creating a supportive and enhancing mat and frame. No. He takes his time to see how the art is influencing his imagination on how to complement and round off a drawing, a photo, a collage, an antique, or whatever people bring him. And when he finishes one and shows it to me, there is nothing I would add or skip – because he perfected it.

I have had many works of art created by Mike Menasco as well as frame work ... His ability to custom create frames around any piece of art, surpasses any and all that Ive ever had done before him ... He is very talented and does incredible work !!! I look forward to many more in the future !!! Customer for life !!! Thank You !!!!
