My family went here later during the night to celebrate our dads birthday. We were dancing, having a good time, and out of nowhere, got kicked out. When we got outside, we were told multiple different reasons why we were kicked out. One was because we tore down a sign (this never happened and is honestly laughable), another was because we werent drinking enough (we paid a $6.00 cover to get in, some of us were having beers, some nothing), and another was we would get a ticket for something, still unclear for what because we literally did nothing wrong. We had no idea where any of this came from and were BEYOND confused. This was from rude security guards and then random people that didnt even seem to work there. Safe to say, we will never be back again. It seemed like a scam to rob us or get us outside for another reason quite honestly! Glad we were with men that could protect us!

LaCage has been a true landmark for gays in and out of Milwaukee. LaCage offers several dance floors, a beautiful updated upstairs and another bar downstairs which offers another feel to this large nightclub! The drinks are great and reasonably priced! Bartenders and staff are outgoing and friendly! They offer several promotions on cocktails and have different types of shows, mostly drag!

I live right up the road so I figured Id stop by. Had an amazing Bloody Mary and I loved the atmosphere. Very friendly! Attentive, caring and inclusive. Definitely recommend for a night out on the town with good company.

Love the mozzarella sticks! Amazingly filling after only 2. The bartender, Tony is a very sweet, and kind bartender. Very attentive to customers needs! Casper is extremely nice and accommodating. He is a pleasure to be served by. This place was immaculate, designed well, and has a very inviting atmosphere for anyone weather, straight ot LGBTQ. Thank you, LaCage!

My company and I do the heating and AC for this club, George is a great customer, and a pleasure work with. He keeps his equipment in tip top shape, I can assure anyone that comes here, they will definitely be comfortable! Also, when I do come out to the nightclub, the music is great, and the staff is extremely friendly and personable.

This is a great place to go on a Thursday night. They always have affordable wristband specials. The service is amazing. Sammy is exceptional up on the third floor.

People are people - some want the past some want the future. Present tense I think their trying to want the best of both worlds. Thats hard with all the different audiences they attract. Butt kiddos for you trying to stay diverse.

Awesome club! Great drink specials, very diverse and friendly staff, massive dance floor with fabulous rotating DJs playing all great music. In my opinion this is the only nightclub to go out to in Milwaukee. They have it all!

Ive been here more than a handful of times, and I can say ever since they changed the name back to La Cage, this place has never been better! Id like to give some praise to Sami and Donovan for being some of the absolute best bar tenders Ive ever come across! They are on their GAME! Always remembering my name and my drink. Also the DJs are great!

Went there for new years eve, got two double shots (even though they were barely single shots) and ended up paying $32.00. Went to the bar next door and got the same thing for $10. Would not recommend unless you like spending that much money.

I had a terrible experience at this place a few weeks ago. I left a tab open and my card was never returned to me when it was time for me to leave. The staff had no interest in finding my card in the slightest and was very rude to me. I used to really enjoy coming here, but after what Ive experienced, I doubt Ill ever set foot inside that place again!

This is a fun place. Theyre usually not so busy on Fridays and theres not that many people there but Saturdays are pretty busy and full. They usually have drag shows on the top floor until like 11. If youve never been to a show and would like to go to one, this is the place to go. Theyre usually entertaining and the shows are usually good. Dont forget to bring some singles to tip the queens. After the show you can go down to the dance floor and dance the night away. They have a cage in the middle of the dance floor if youd like to go up and dance too. Theres a cover charge and they only take cash for the cover charge but dont worry they have an atm for you to use.

Not handicap accessible they had their main entrance blocked off. To get out there is stair going up from the main bar. Trip down and smashed my knee into the ground and a braised my hands. You also run a restaurant which isnt handicap accessible either. Nope and nope.

Nice place. Really good music. Unfortunately not so many people around to hang out with. Youll have fine though :)

I like going here. I had one excellent bartender who was just delightful otherwise I have always found the service a little... disinterested? Who cares, though, because that is probably not why anyone is here. One doorman is also great, really made me feel better after an uncomfortable situation.

Mike is such a great bartender. He not only knows the buildings history but can tell you everything about La Cage history. This place is full of history. If you want to learn the history ask for Mike. His D A B O M B!!

Agreed with the guy who said this place seems to be on the verge of dying. Kind of sad really. Ive been going there a handful of times for every year since about 2006 now (10 years). Ive never seen the place so dead in that time. I returned a couple weeks ago and went again last night and there was little to anyone there. A lot of the guys were overweight and unattractive who look like they dont take care of themselves were the only individuals in attendance. Albeit, I never was really crazy about the selection at La Cage as Im relationship-oriented and more conservative in my style and the place only seems to attract the typical promiscuous younger guys or older predators in 50s or 60s seeking young. It also attracts people already in a relationships and just showing off themselves or looking to cheat. That said, it was probably the best outlet in Milwaukee for gays to go for life, energy, dance and music. However, I got on the dance floor with my friend last night and realized we were few of anyone on the dance floor because the attendance was so low. Maybe they finally turned everyone off with that damn payment they demand, something that always bothered me about this place. I never liked having to pay to get in. Moreover, last night was a disaster in how they made us get in through going outside and exiting various doors, switching entrances and exists up while having to wait in line in the frigid cold for security checks. People also might not like that whole new complicated entrance system, which got real ratchet last night. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. The place never attracted any quality relationship-material, down-to-earth guys my age (30 here), just diva queens so its nice that its fazing out and hopefully something new and improved will hit Milwaukees gay community. As of right now, rely on the web to find your Mr Right. The clubs and bars were always useless in this department.

Probably one of the better gay bars in Milwaukee. Upstairs they have drag shows on the weekend, that start early. Once the show is done, everyone heads down to dance. Crowd usually picks up around midnight. Drinks are reasonably priced and served in a pint glass.

Loved the drag show, cheap cover, decent priced beers. Had lots of fun.

The owner was trying to flirt with me and he offered to buy me a drink and after I refused his drink. He then kicked me and friends out of the club after we refused his drinks. Spills all over floor, and it had a weird smell. Dont come to this place alone or the owner will pounce on you like a predator. Luckily my friends had my back. He could have did anything to those drinks had we accepted them.

Upstairs drag show is fun, fairly traditional and not as boundary pushing as the shows at DIX. Downstairs dance area is something to experience. The dress code, cover charge and no bag policy is annoying.

Afters years of hearing about this place, I finally made it and LaCage did not disappoint. First, this place is huge. Ive never seen anything like it. Im used to one level party hubs and bars of Boystown (Chicago); the three levels of show lounge, dance floor, and bar is impressive. Second, the drinks are strong ass hell. If you like Long Island Ice Tea, watch yourself. Third, the CAGE!!! It looks over the dance floor-- with the right song and two LIs you can really end up in another world.I visited on a Saturday night, so there was a drag show-- and the Queens were good.All-in-all I had a blast!!

I have always had a good time with my group of friends, but the service here has been poor. The bouncers have always been rude. I am understanding and have tried to look past it and come for a good time, but on news years, going to the bathroom, there are signs on each stall stating only one occupant at a time. I completely understand this rule; however, my friend was sick, I left her in the stall alone for 10 minutes before I went in to help. Everything was fine until an employee came pounding on the door. We came out and were rudely shown the sign on the stalls. I explained my friend didnt feel well and he told us to go outside and not feel well. The fact that I paid 15 dollars to get in and was kicked out for caring about my friends well being. I honestly will not be giving them my service ever again.

Let me just start by saying since this is a business review; let me clarify I gave this business good money; $60ish a night frequently and handled myself here with dignity and respect for the TEN good years Ive gone here. Never have I fought, stolen, displayed promiscuity, broke a glass or even the very least thrown up at this business! I had a love and respect for this club. I even performed with a participant in the Mr. Lacage contest. Regular bar hops and bartenders would hug me with smiles.With all that said; after months of absence due to just a busier lifestyle...on May 7th of 2016- color me befuddled to arrive at the door with my friend (Whos home after the marines from serving our country) only to be told we are both BANNED as soon as we enter the door by the cashier, not even security or management. We took it as a joke given our class, status, and history with the business only to be affirmed. Im not kidding. Then stated I dont know why I just do as I am told.Now as a private business despite professionalism and principle, I suppose you have every right to ban 2 upstanding customers at your business with no explanation. Clearly this is personal animosity and NOT a business related decision. Whoever you are; I find your business transgression and malpractice something to be investigated.UPDATE: Head of security Luke and bartender Jesse immediately messaged me on social media concerned over the event. They were kind and helpful to reach out and investigate the situation for me. I am not banned and possibly mistreated by the guy who was at the front door.This brings some peace but not ultimate resolve. Now that its verified no one initiated the ban- A close eye should be kept on this employee internally or leads on who may have instructed this. For watchful purposes, the cashier I encountered was Caucasian, short, bald, glasses 35ish. A leo. Unclear if he still works here. Customers should question all possible claims of being banned and ask that Luke clarify all refusals of service with reason.Because of swift care and concern that came unexpectedly, I am open to do business again in the future.Whoever you were, secret hiding banning man- know this...you have no integrity, and thats the core attribute that makes us human. And Im back!...
