I love this theater. The Times has a neighborhood feel to it that isnt found at the larger AMC or Marcus offerings. Instead of movie previews, we are delighted buy short films that challenge us to think or experience life in another persons shoes. Its close to where we live, so we can have dinner at our house, a nice stroll and a movie. May this theater last for years to come.
I love older theaters. This one shows some Great films.Seats are new and comfy, but the place lacks some of the old feel of the Avalon. None the less, between the two, I wouldnt go elsewhere!
Great comfortable seats, just like the old time theater but with great food and drinks. Feels great supporting the local small businesses. Nice staff who love movies!
Nice and tiny cinema in Washington Highlands with draft beer and a small screen. The only thing you need to know is that there are only 4 parking spaces allocated to it :) The seating capacity is quite substantial for a local cinema, so keep in mind that first rows are straight one after another, there is no floor decline, so its better to sit closer to the back
Great little theater! Cool shows and a fun atmosphere.
Used to love going to the times fo vintage movies and the nostalgia on.the walls. Then the new management took over, stripped the walls bare and showed current movies. Now there is no reason to bother to go there.
Small theater, great service, good prices.
Nice old-style cinema. Movies you won’t see in most of other cinemas. Very friendly staff. Pay attention that you cannot choose a seat while buying a ticket, so come earlier to get a better seat.
We absolutely love the times!!! Always the friendliest employees and how can you not support such a great locally owned theater?! Highly recommend. Alcohol available!
Fantastic community theatre in Milwaukee. I was there for a horror fest. They have great popcorn and beer too. You can also order pizza and pretzels. Yum. The staff are sooo friendly and accommodating. Theyve modernized the seats in the theater for more comfort and leg room. The sound system may be improved too, no complaints. Loved it.
I had never been here before but this was a great theatre! The food was better than normal movie theatre food, seats were comfortable, and sound quality was great.
Was quaint not my cup of tea.
A great throw back to another time and place.
One of the best in Milwaukee! Love seeing movies in this venue.
Love this place. New seats are comfortable and the staff is always friendly. Proud to support our local business. Plus, they show great movies (often independent and art films).
Simple 1 screen theater. The staff is great. Food is available as well as drinks and the theater Staples. Also, cant go wrong with their lineup. Regularly transitioning from indie films to blockbusters followed by retrospectives. A great little theater to go to in the Washington Heights or Wauwatosa area.
The Times is a charming neighborhood cinema. Be sure to get there early enough to find parking. Check out their website often, for they schedule unique movies and some live musical events periodically.
Cool venue with a great small theater experience. The seats are better than I thought that would be for the type of theater this is. Definitely will come back here when I get the chance.
The seating with their new recliners makes the movie experience 10 * more comfortable and enjoyable no more having kids kick the back of your seat or tripping over peoples toes and purses getting up during the movie. Id rather drive a few extra miles just to watch in those recliners!
Really neat old theater! Seats are actually really comfortable! It happen to be really hot the day I was there so it would have been easy to fall asleep in them
Theres a lot to like about the Times and I go there a few times a year. They show the kinds of movies I like, including foreign and indie films and interesting older films. However, its a difficult place for me to visit because I have problems with mobility and the theater is not handicapped accessible. There is an ADA space in the parking lot, which is frequently blocked with snow in rhe winter. The front doors are unusually heavy and hard to open. The bathrooms are not accessible, even for someone who doesnt use a wheelchair. The toilet seats are low and there are no grab bars. High toilets and bars are features that most businesses, even in older buildings, manage to provide.
Check out this place! Very cool. Came to watch some old time films. Enjoyed watching black Christmas. Single screen theater. You cant beat 5.00 movie night any night. They always have something interesting playing. The food is even decent here. The drinks are good and the price is right. Come and see a show. The experience is wonderful!
Fun place for a movie night! Best popcorn in Milwaukee!
Fantastic classic theater in my old neighborhood.
Awesome cinema. Twisted Dream festival was amazing.
Small, quaint, comfortable seats, done parking.
Great neighborhood theatre. My favorite location for the Milwaukee Film Festival! Lots of snack food options including fresh popcorn, as well as, liquor drinks for those who want to indulge.
I have to say, Ive enjoyed myself over at The Times Cinema. Ive just seen Deadpool 2, and it was funny as WHOO!!! I cant wait to come back here again, especially with friendly staff and cool prices. Definitely a 5 star from me. X3
Great local theaterLove the new (not so new anymore) seating
Local antiqued theater
The Times was the first movie theater to show foreign films in Milwaukee in the 50s and 60s. That heritage is being rebuilt now. Dont miss this neighborhood icon.
Classic single screen theater focused on bringing the neighborhoods together to enjoy movies, events, and the best popcorn theaters have to offer!
Good times at the Times as always!
Comfortable seats. Nice drinks and snacks.
One if my favorite neighborhood theaters. Love the updated seating. Best popcorn!
Dont like the big movie theater crowds and bustling ticket lines? Do you enjoy being able to bring a beer into the theater with you? This theater has it all. Staff is friendly and helpful, from entering to exiting. Movie showing started promptly on time, and was not overcrowded. The screen is nothing to oogle over, but it is a large enough size to enjoy any movie, though if youre looking for an IMAX experience, you may want to look elsewhere. Audio was fantastic though. Chairs were extremely comfortable, and were set up in a way you could see the screen without obstruction. Best of all, get this: THE FLOORS WERE CLEAN. No sticky soda spills, no popcorn in the seats, and no sense that you were sitting in an unwashed chair. Seeing that the prices are comparable to other local theaters, I would definitely consider returning it they were showing a film I wanted to see.
Classy old-school single screen neighborhood theater with friendly staff and clean bathrooms. If they are showing something you want to see, its a great place to watch a movie!
Meh. Plopped down $15 ($10 for the movie and $5 for a beer) on Sunday evening 09/09/18 while the Packers were playing the Bears. I was 1 of 4 people in attendance to watch the 6:45 PM showing of Blackkklansman. I politely asked for a glass of H2O. Seemed to me to be a reasonable request from a customer who just paid $15 for a show and beer in an otherwise EMPTY theater. It aint like I stumbled in off the street asking to use the bathroom. Teenager working informed me that H2O is only for SALE. Meh. Whatever. Decent enough theater. But I wont be going back. I also work in the service industry. HARD LINES IN THE SAND are never good for business. Empower your employees to use DISCRETION. Kid could have poured me a simple cup of tap water. But he didnt. Poor business model.
I love the Times. Food can be a little hit or miss sometimes (fries were over done and crunchy this time), but popcorn is always good. And drinks. Though I wish they had more tea options.
Great seats, great show and BEER
Nice neighborhood 1 screen cinema. Comfy seats.
Its a nice neighborhood theater. It isnt huge and they open 30 minutes before the first feature.
Very cool, independent theater. Has regular movie seats, unlike Rosebud, which has couches. The Times regularly shows films that arent showing anywhere else -- independents, anime, specialty films -- and should be supported for its willingness to be different! Additionally, the theater has the flexibility to change its offerings with current events. (For example, showing Ali the week that Muhammed Ali died.) Serves beer, wine, and food.Id support this theater (and the Rosebud, which shows first-run films) over any chain theater. 100%
Small little theater, but nice to see a movie in...when the projector works.
The theatre is nice but snacks too expensive. I get it they have to make a profit but $3.00 for a bottled water???
Nice theater with an old feel good beer on tap and great horror movies
If I wanna go to a neighborhood theater when a certain movie is playing and they offer I go here good place
Stumbled on this theatre totally by accident. What an awesome time we had! Friendly staff, yummy popcorn, great time!
We went here and there wasnt much of a line and it was very nice
The movies were great with a very great message.
It was the best movie theater ever I love the seats just for a MOVIE! Great service and amazing popcorn
It is a local place to see thoughtful movies
They got big new, comfy chairs! Wowza!
The most comfortable seats in any theater in Milwaukee. Plus, theyre staggered horizontally so you can see the screen no matter who is in front of you. (Well, Mayfair is comfortable too, but very expensive.)
Wonderful theater with wonderful popcorn...like things used to be.
My wife and I saw My Friend Dahmer here. I love this old timey neighborhood theatre!!! :D
Cool! Seemed scary driving in, but it was great.
Great movies, comfy seats & lots of good options for concessions. They also accept Small Shops for concession perks.
Great theater. Come for the stand up cinemas, they are great!
Support the cool theatres!
Cool environment, interesting selection of movies from blockbusters to indies and classics. Nice neighborhood spot
My favorite theater in Milwaukee area. Single screen and comfortable.
Great neighborhood family movie experience in a small theater.
Fun retro theater. Friendly staff
Very comfortable and small theater. Friendly staff and clean bathroom.
Awesome vintage-style theater!
Enjoyed..
Locally owned theater with some food and drink options. Clean theater.
Whats not to like with wine and an interesting movie
Annoying dj
