I have always loved The Waxwing as a place to find cute, unique, local goods. I recently tried the window pick up. Every step of the processes was clear and easy from ordering online and a text to know my order was ready for pick up. I also decided to add some last minute items. Purchasing at the window was just as easy especially with the considerate staff that made sure you got the items you were excpecting to. It was a fast and convenient way to shop!

I love The Waxwing. So many fantastic items to choose from - whether youre looking for a one-of-a-kind gift or treating yourself. Its awesome to know your purchase supports local Milwaukee makers and artists, as well as a great business that cares for the community. The curbside pickup in the past few months has been a great experience! Its so easy to order online and stop by to do a contactless pick-up (too easy!). And they do offer delivery within 5 miles if youd prefer, which is nice. The Waxwing is one of my favorite shops in Milwaukee!

Always a fun place to shop for unique items. The sidewalk sale last weekend was well organized and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I love that they have so many items that are made by small companies that recycle and upcycle things such as skateboards and glass.

This is the most amazing store filled with awesome gifts. The owner is one of the most caring people I have ever met and bares her soul every time she opens her shop doors. Shop here to get a little piece of goodness not only for who you’re giving the gift to, but for the community that Steph supports.

We travelled 30 miles to come visit this store because their listing said it was open. No customers allowed in store though, shopping only through a small window. They should change their listing. Very disappointing - I see that they added shopping online and pick up after this complaint. That will be helpful. The store looked awesome.

Ordering online and picking up was very fast and easy. I ordered it during the hours they have posted and got a text when it was ready which was less than an hour later. It came in a pretty blue bag so it was ready to gift!

I love this place. I arrived around 6:30pm on Small Business Saturday and was greeted by the sweetest (and cutest) employees, mimosas, and 15% off.Oh, I’m sorry, did I say 15%? I meant 20% because my friend loaned me her Milwaukee I Love You loyalty tote.The inside was stunning. Seriously, y’all, it was so beautiful. Everything in there flows! And it smelled like a hundred angels flew up my nose and made miracles happen in there.I scored three awesome candles, made locally; I just couldn’t say no to the spruce and cedar Milwaukee Candles: one for mom, one for my brother, and one for me :-) And I am positive my best friend is going to ADORE the potted succulent I got him. Seriously, I’ve never felt this much gift confidence in my life.And can you believe my delight when I got to the register and discovered that you get a 5 dollar gift card for every 50 dollars you spend! That was so cool.Whatever it is that The Waxwing is doing, they are winning. #wouldshopagain

The Waxwing is an amazing store that supports local and national artistry through their products.I needed to purchase a specific mug that was not on their site. I wrote the store an e-mail, and owner Steph Davies, responded to my inquiry immediately. Steph got the mug I was looking for back on the site and I was able to place my order for my friends birthday present that she will get to pick up Sunday. Steph was kind, generous, and helpful.This store is owned by someone who excels at customer service and clearly cares about customer relationships. I will always promote and encourage anyone to visit The Waxwing, and I can guarantee you will never be disappointed walking into that store, and I bet you’ll feel happier after experiencing the store, purchasing a carefully selected hand made product, and walking out of The Waxwing with a smile.

I love going into the Waxwing and bring family who come in from out of town. I love the candle selections and other locally made jewelry and pottery. The handmade handbags and scarves are fun too. I always find something cool when I go in there!

Unfortunate shopping experience at Waxwing.Stopped in yesterday to shop local for the holiday weekend. 5:30pm, at the register and I say “Glad we came in today to take advantage of the Shop Local Saturday discount’ you have today”His response “We had discounts until 5pm, the discounts start again at 6pm.”I look at my watch, it reads 5:31 pm.I continued with my purchase anyhow.Was a very cold and unfortunate experience. Very petty of that cashier.It is unlikely we will return, or suggest this place to family and friends.

The Waxwing is one of my FAVORITE places in Milwaukee. Its obvious the amount of care that goes into selecting all of the handmade art/objects/goods that are carefully curated in this shop.

This is my favorite place to get gifts — especially if I want something with a Milwaukee/Wisconsin/local twist. Nothing is generic. I really appreciate the artistry featured and yes, that can make items pricier than, say, the checkout aisle at tj maxx I’d also like to suggest that if you’re taking part in an event meant to celebrate and support small business, maybe you should make the local aspect more important than getting big discounts. If the % off is so important to you, I can recommend kohl’s (technically a local biz).

The Waxwing is our go to spot for all kinds of gifts, especially teacher gifts. My kids both love picking out gifts for their friends, teachers, and they always know what to get me from here!The other really amazing part about this shop is how much Steph (the owner) puts into not only all of her events, but she is a champion for all the other small shops in the city. She makes a point to get out and shop local herself. The amount of gifts she gives out on Small Business Saturday is insane as well as the fact that she knows people are waiting in line for hours, so she makes sure to have treats and refreshments handed out to them while they wait. That’s love. Small Business Saturday is supposed to be about supporting your local businesses, not about discounts or giveaways, but she still pours her heart into all of it. Steph and The Waxwing are true gems. ️

Great store. Perfect place to go if you need a gift for your sister or a unique Milwaukee suvenier. Reflects the neighborhood with all the quirky, artistic merchandise. They had a lot of really great jewelry, there were nice leather purses and wallets(mens and womens) shirts, mugs, journals, greeting cards, art prints, and more.

Hands down the coolest local shop in Milwaukee. Unique gifts, hometown pride without the cheesy tourist flare. They have over 30 artists who contribute to their rad selection of gifts and goodies. I cant recommend it enough, you just should stop in yourself!

Cute milwaukee/Wisconsin themed gifts. Clothing, candles, toiletries, art, and jewelry. I come here to find the perfect gift for friends bdays and whenever I want to show mke pride. The only complaint is some of the things are a little pricey and I feel like the jewelry selection could have less enamel/resin jewelry and more precious stone/metals options. Otherwise I love this place.

Hidden fees that are not discussed upfront. Youd be surprised theyd eventually tell you there are additional fees included and this is halfway through their classes. I ended up spending almost triple the initial amount I paid. It wasnt discussed at all from the very beginning. Thats apart from the fact that they are charging way too high compared to their competition.

I messsaged ahead of time to see if the store had what I needed. I guess there was a misunderstanding because while they did have some pottery bowls they did not have a large selection as indicated. And they did not have the bowl pot holders (although they did have regular pot holders). This is my first time at the new location. Honestly I liked the old location better because it had more of a local artist feel and less of a retail feel as it does at the new location. Atmosphere has changed a bit, just a little less friendly. Still have some really nice stuff.
