A super fun trail with various features to play on and technical areas to keep you on your toes. No major drops or jumps, and the trails are accessible by most levels of riders. Throw on some bug spray and watch out for the occasional spot of poison ivy. The MMBA did a good job developing a trail here. Give it a ride and donate some funds to keep that maintenance of the trail going strong.
Nice views, almost endless walking trails. Multiple entrances main entrance is off Monroe Road where the front of the park is and also chalet, toboggans, sledding, ice skating in winter. The 2 other entrances are off Eastman Avenue, and Sturgeon Road. Walking mountain bike trails so many other options.
Great park. Mtb trails are technical and quick, but not a lot of elevation. Obstacles usually have a path around them for inexperienced or family rides. Signage is pretty good. I ride the trails every time I get up there to visit family.
Always a nice place to go for a hike, trails are always well maintained. In the winter, the sled hill they have is great. Most of the trails have great tree cover, so the majority of the time, there isnt too much of a need to worry about the sun.
Nice place to walk. Close to the city, but still feels like youre in the woods. Lots of trails for variety. Well maintained.
Even without actual toboggans the kids still had a great time. And its absolutely beautiful in the fall as you can see in the photo!
Great place to walk and bike. Dogs welcome too. Only problem is the signs are hard to follow and a few are inaccurate.
Always a great place to go for a hike, bike ride, or sledding in the winter.
We visited this place in a cold weather and after rain. In some parts there were ice an muddy but it was beautiful and long enough for a good hike. I think it would be more exciting in dry season! We will definitely try and post the pictures here :)
Very nice park with a good choice of trails. Just a heads up dogs are not required to be on a leash
Great place to go mountain biking for a couple hours.
Great layout of paths for hiking or bicycling
Lovely trails and forests. Walked it with mu husband and dog. Didnt complete them all so will be back. Easy to find, nice parking area and restrooms.
Great for running, biking, and just walking. The trails are well marked and easy to follow.
We only walked a portion with our dogs and it was well-marked, very beautiful and we will definitely come back if we are in area again.
Well maintained, would like to see some more challenges for mountain biking
Awesome trails to Walk, Hike, ride Mountain Bikes or even Horseback ride. Beautiful forest to explore!
Great maintained walking & biking trails. A good way to get out of the city, while basically still being in the city.
10/10 would recommend. They have tobaganning, ice skating, sledding, skiing, an indoor warming lodge with drinks and snacks, and an outdoor fire. I will say, we didnt go in the bathrooms so I dont know how they were but otherwise, we love this place. Everything is very reasonably priced and the staff were friendly.
I used to walk my dog here all the time!! So many nice trails!!
I love this memory! I used to go sledding and love the toboggan run when I was little!
I love walking city forest trails. But dont forget your mosquito spray!!
They updated the trail maps!!! Because they used logic when creating them, they make sense and are easy to understand. The city of Midlands common sense is appreciated on this one :P
Great place to walk but put on bug spray
Beautiful place to walk with lots of botanical diversity!
Beautiful park! Miles of awesome trails.
Fun place to take long walks. And winter time the sled hill and warming house good times.
Me, my husband and our 10 year old really enjoy mountain biking here. My favorite loop is gnu loop. Tons of fun!
Love the foot trails that run throughout the forest. Theyre very well maintained and give you a sense of immersion in the trees and ferns while following the natural terrain, full of twists and surprises. Im sure they would be even more epic on a mountain bike! Normal trails are also nice. Signage is well done and park is not overcrowded. A thousand places to sling a hammock!
Loads of trails with multiple purposes like walking, biking, skiing and even horseback riding. If its the summer you might want to bring bug spray.
Great ride today. Trail markers are well placed and easy to see when navigating the trails. Trails were maintained.
Nice area. Very peaceful
Where could one tread oh so lightly and yet walk in the footprints of giants? YAHWEH shows His splendor in this place, and it is evident as the sun rises in the East, that those who come to such a place to find what is in fact seeking them will be validated with their search here.
Favorite place to take my pup for a walk!
Nice trails. Walk, ride bikes or horses.
Wonderful place to walk, run, bike, and exercise dogs. Well cared for by users and the city of Midland. Especially wonderful in winter, with the sledding hill, chalet, and cross-country skiing.
Nature walks are always calming
Toboggan slide is epic, and so is there delightful hot chocolate and marshmallows.
Absolutely loved the scenery and the roomy space to let the dog run.
My favorite place to ride!!
Well kept despite the flooding a month ago.
Great place to going for a walk or hike. Excellent place to go with your mountain bike. There are a lot of parts to go on, long loops, pretty well signed so you can actually follow the paths.
Other than it being muddy sometimes, I love this park. I come here mountain biking all the time.
Pretty cool place
My first time cross-country skiing was made magical by this amazing place. The lodge, while a bit crowded, was very cozy with a wood burning fireplace and with food and beverages to order. Once I got out on the trails, I had so much fun skiing over the gentle slopes (and taking the occasional fall). Im so glad i gave it a try and I look forward to returning next year!
A great place for cross country running and winter activities like sledding, snowshoeing and tobogganing. Not the most scenic of parks, quite mosquito ridden during the summer, and could use better trail maintenance. Dog friendly and almost litter free.
The staff are friendly and the Chalet is a beautiful and toasty place to warm back up after some winter activities. The sled hill is very well maintained and the kids and I had a blast utilizing it. Be warned though that you have to climb back up the hill on your own power. After about 10 trips up and down this momma was wishing they had a conveyor belt to haul us back to the top. All that being said we will visit again soon.
Awesome place to go kids had a wonderful time going down the toboggan run they also have ice skating cross country skiing and regular sledding hills and a nice area with a fire outside and an indoor concession stand with pretty fireplace that overlooks the sledding hill so you can sit in there and enjoy hot cocoa and a pretzel while you watch your kids sled
Super fun family time
Great trail to walk your dog or mountain bike. Well marked and maps at every numbered post.
Great place to enjoy nature close to town!
The wife and I love going for walks through City Forest. Its so nice that Midland has a gem like this. Lets you get reconnected with nature. Only issue in winter is sometimes the trails do get very icy, so just be careful in winter time.
Nice quiet place to hike with your dog, or ride your bike.
Did go because it looked to rugged for one of my senior dogs. Theres supposed to be trails or a path that is like a boardwalk and didnt see it.
Love taking my dog for walks here, they offer pet waste bags. Many, many trails to walk on, very clean and quiet.
Very well maintained trails. Easy to read maps. Dog friendly. Has easy and difficult trails for mountain biking.
Walk my dogs on the trails. All the trailheads have maps so you cant get lost!! The dogs can run free as long as they are under control which means its more fun for them especially when we come across more dogs and they get to introduce themselves and play for a few minutes before continuing on.
Great place to ride or run or walk. Take the dog. Even see horses out there sometimes. Well marked single and two track. Close to places to refuel after the outdoor activity. Did I mention they have a toboggan run?
Beautiful area. Trails well marked and maintained.
We are so lucky to have such a beautiful & peaceful place to commune with nature...the dogs loved it too!
Great place to walk the dog and explore the forest.
We love walking in the City Forest. Our one, and only complain is...if you are on a racing bike: please either ring a bell in advance or yell coming up on your left. The racing bikes, on the rail-trail...are more consistently aware and more thoughtful...of walkers.
The chalet is quite nice for a party and reasonably priced. 50 people and a small band would fit nicely.
Great little town, friendly people and some very cool restaurants. Bike path is beautiful (approx 20 mile round trip). Minor league baseball played in a first class stadium! Music scene is happening with Blues to Rock featured at coffee shops and nice bars. Nice little get a way!
Beautiful well maintained multi-sport outdoor park. This is a very well maintained outdoor space. I have primarily used it for Mountain Biking and hiking with the family but look forward to using the winter sport facility this year. We are very blessed to have access to this in the Midland community.
Great place to exercise humans and dogs. Wish humans were more vigilante about picking up after their companions. Wounderful in any weather except for icy spots in the winter.
This a great place for walking, hiking, running, cross country skiing, tobogganing in winter, horse riding, and mostly what I do, walk the dogs. It’s an elaborate system of pathways and trails, very well put together, and very well marked as there is a numbering sequence of the various points where paths cross and a sign that shows a map of your whereabouts so you can use the numbered signs to find your way home. I like it very much!
This is a beautiful place to walk, bike, run with or without pets and horses. There are many trails with postings letting you know where you are on the trail. Beautiful fall colors.
I always have a great time here. Summer and Winter.
Excellent time with kids. So much to do. The people that work there are friendly and fantastic! Awesome time with family! Thanks
Attended the Red Moon Trail Run 2019 and really enjoyed the park!
Nice place in the winter, really nothing but trails in summer
Trails in great shape after 3 days of rain.
Amazing place! Close to home. Where you get the out in the woods feel without traveling to state property.
A gem of a park! For dogs, people and bikers.
Nice trails, with pretty good trail maps. Good for easy strolls (not so much with strollers - there are some spots that are pretty sandy). Some wider trails (good for skate skiing and horse riding) Some narrow windy trails (nordic skiing and mountain biking, or just hiking. Pretty flat all over, with a couple of hills that are open for sledding and tobogganing (rental available). Ice skating rink (rental skates available). Dogs allowed.
Awesome Natural Setting! Great trails for walking/snow skiing! Many different difficulty levels and lengths!
Excellent trails
Get place to get away from the hustle of life.
Fun place for an outing. Went for company outing. Lot of space. Lot of activities to do. Try it out
This is a really great park. There are lots of trees, so the paths are well shaded. There are many different paths from which to choose. There were quite a few people when we went, but it was not crowded at all. It is very quiet and peaceful. Also, there are tons of geocaches.
Interesting trails to walk but a few rough trail sections.
Nice trails to walk
Fantastic tobaggon runs, great winter activities. Great place to make memories with the family!
Nice walking and biking trails.
Great place to take your family sledding. Admission is free. Bring your sled. To toboggan there is a rental fee for but its well worth it. Id gladly take my family here again and again.
Clear trails beautifully maintained
Love all of the trails! Walked or jogged through a few times. People can also bike, and I heard ride a horse through some areas. Wish I saw more critters though. Occasionally will see a bird, saw one baby raccoon once which was cool, thats about it.
