This bridge is a landmark in central CT going over route 9 and the Connecticut River. You can walk or drive over it.There are great views that can be seen from the bridge.The bridge connects Middletown and Portland.Routes 66 & 17 both go over the bridge.

At first, I was hesitant to cross this bridge, but I got over it.

A great bridge. One of the best in CT, maybe the whole east coast. People walk and run across its seemingly endless sidewalks, on both sides of the bridge. If you want an upstream view, go for it. If you want to see the downstream side and the rotating train bridge, its there. Quite a sight to see, and impressive that such feats are even possible. What a great bridge. Really special.

The bridge holds many, many wonderful memories of my childhood years! Now as a lady in my senior years I have often felt the joy of my childhood years as I traveled over the bridge recalling fondly my cousin who made such bridge crossings well worth while!

Gorgeous place. Sunsets are always so pretty, the bridge is a lovely background on a photo, hundreds of people visit for a few photos here. You may fish here too as well as party near the shore and join a mini cruise.

Great bridge. Gets you from one side to the other and the crazy part is if you wanna get back to the original side you came from you can!

In early 2015, I worked with ConnDOT to study potential traffic impacts when the main span decks were out of service for rehab...I came to enjoy the views from the bridge. Impacts were minimal per our recommendation to install strategic variable message signs so motorists could divert before getting close to CT-66. And in fact, there were few or no traffic impacts, despite some local opposition.

Some say the single greatest bridge ever built held the worlds longest title for allmost 73 years one day in June 1973 the bridge plummeted to the water but in the nick of time sprung back and gently brought everyone to safety not damaging one spring or strut and get this it goes over water I swear goes right over water theres water underneath for most of the bridge and land on each side of it . I mean who thinks of this stuff!!!! Ill tell you who but you wouldnt believe me do you remember the bumble from Rudolph the Red-Nosed reindeer the one that bounced it wasnt him it was his favorite bridge but no it was the famed cartographer arrigoni Jones The single greatest man to ever grace this fine country even if he was pretty weird and allthough he had a sexual attraction to bridges look what came of it and who are we to judge when such a gorgeous specimen comes out of that relationship

The arigoni bridge is amazing... I was able to drive completely from one side of the river to the other without getting wet or having to board a boat!

Fun bridge to drive over or better to walk over. Nice views of the Connecticut river, and the feel of the bridges vibration when cars pass is fun.

I love the views from this bridge and how wide the pedestrian walkway is on both sides. I used to jog with my kids on a double stroller to the Dunkin in Portland and back to Middletown. The only bad thing: dear parent that crosses the bridge on a stroller, ALWAYS KEEP THE STROLLER WITH YOU. Good spot for July 4th fireworks

Thus is a well maintained beige with sideways on both sides and has an awesome view of the river.

Middletown connection to Portland, East Hampton, to Hebron and Beyond, plus I live at the bottom, my apartment that is, tho I would imagine living under it wouldnt be so bad, youd have running water gotta love this beautiful and historic bridge!!!!!

The Aragoni Bridge has one of the most excellent of views of the Connecticut River! The river itself is indeed The River Of Dreams which could not be totally appreciated if it were not viewed as grandly from the Aragoni Bridge!

To much traffic

I really dont understand why this is on this list but I guess Ill explain the bridge but to you best as I can for those of you who dont know about it its just a typical bridge that connects Portland to Middletown and you can also walk across. Other than that its basically just a way to get over the river but there is one other good thing about it if you go to watch the fireworks in Middletown around the 4th of July or sometimes even on the 4th of July its a very good place to see them from the river right there at the bridge you can also see then some other places as well but the best places on on the bridge I will admit it gets quite crowded so you may not like that.
