Great way to spend the afternoon! This museum is very interesting, and not just for kids so adults will enjoy learning all kinds of natural history stuff and little known factoids about Arizona along the way. It really puts things into perspective about how massive the timeline of life on this planet is in relation to our own, and how diverse it is.

We really loved the AZ Museum of Natural History! This was the first time we got a chance to go. They had a special thing going on for preschoolers. The exhibits were really amazing! I was in complete awe of the size of some of these creatures! My wife and I also really enjoyed the native American section, some really cool history about this area of the country as well. I would highly recommend visiting this place with your kids my 4 year old didnt want to leave!

My family of 5 with 3 college age kids went to this medium sized museum. It had many full size displays of dinosaur skeletons that were cool. Also, we saw many displays of the local geology and colorful and interesting rocks of the area. I visited this museum for a special evening event celebrating Darwins birthday and it was a very good experience. Thank you to all the speakers who shared knowledge with us. The museum itself feels like it has been neglected when it comes to funding. There are some updated and very informative displays, but for many of the fossils and skeletons information is lacking. For instance Id like to know where the specimens and/or castings originated, and more details about their individual discoveries. Also, there are some spaces with large displays including a waterfall and diorama that are sort of cute, but those areas could be cute and also educational/informative. Again, I suspect this is an issue of money. This museum has an important mission and deserves greater support.

We love going to the Arizona Museum of Natural History mostly because there are hands on features for a busy 4 year old and lots of giant (and tiny) dinosaurs! The staff are always welcoming and the facility is always clean and well kept. I love the interactive features like the plesiosaurus puzzle which has 2 layers! On a hot day or even just a lazy Thursday, the museum provides a safe, educational and fun way to spend a few hours without spending a lot of money (unless, of course, you let your child talk you into visiting the gift shop, which I highly recommend). The Museum also has an elevator to get you to the next level when you tire of climbing the stairs, that way you dont miss any of the exhibits. The space exploration section was one of my personal favorites, with different surprises around every corner and touchable exhibits for young explorers. This museum looks small from the outside but is packed with plenty of great learning and exploring opportunities, I hope this review and some pictures have piqued your curiosity!

We visited this museum for the first time during their Free Entrance event. We usually dont attend these type of events to avoid crowds. But for some reason, I insisted and we went to check it out. I was very impressed on how well organized it was!! Yes, it was busy but they managed to control the crowds with timed tickets; so it didnt feel extremely crowded and we didnt have to wait outside in the heat to go inside when our turn came up.As far as their exhibits.... they are fantastic!! This place is big and lots of informative things to see and learn. I told my husband that we would have to return but without the kids so we could stop and read without being rushed by our toddlers Our kids are 3 and almost 5.We loved it and going back for sure!!
