One of the best falls hiking trail. You can drive to the top or you can walk to the castle at top. I wasnt expecting a lot of people as it was a bit chilly however there were a lot of people driving as well as walking up to the top. Even though there was fog at the top however the drive up there was worth it. You could see all the fall colors. Will go there again when its sunny. It was an awesome experience.

Amazing amazing view. It was a little hazy but you could still see to Hartford. The leaves changing colors made the view even better. I was on crutches and I got around decent. Its a little bumpy in spots but nothing non accessible.

I parked my car at the park and took the Hubbard trail to go up to the castle Craig and the nearby reservoir. On a weekday, there were only a handful of hikers. Though the trail marker was confusing at some point, Google maps was helpful as you get network throughout the hike trail. I went for 3 hours of clockwise loop hike from the park to castle and then to the reservoir. The view from the top is amazing and worth all the hikes. Highly recommended if you are into nature hike.

Hiked up to Castle Craig and really enjoyed it! Warning: do NOT follow the car path if you want to hike. There is an actual hiking trail you can find from the small parking lot near the lake.But you can also drive up to the castle.

This place is great. Bring ur car its better then walking to very top. Unless u wana walk about 30 minuts or so. I went up there on my bike. I loved the view spent hours up there.

Some of the best hiking in the state with great views from West Peak. Hike prepared with supplies and good footwear, due to some of the trails having challenging terrain and close proximity to the cliffs. The Christmas lights are always great to go and see. Its the largest municipally maintained park in New England, and a great place for the family. Meriden has many great parks for hiking, and this park wont dissapoint!!

Great place to get out and enjoy nature. The second half of the 3 miles to the top is a pretty steep incline, but can be done either on the road or on a rocky trail. Great views from Craigs Castle.

15 minute drive to top where Castle Craig is located. Gorgeous views. Beautiful Merimere Reservoir on the drive. Rocky cliffs. Hold onto young childrens hands and do not allow any children to wander. Some cliff areas are not fenced. I did not see any bathrooms, lots of woods.

It was a lot of fun. However, there should be better details with the maps. To give hikers a choice where to go and what scenery they would prefer to hike first or for the day. Thats way i gave it 4 stars.

Such a great local park! Has a small kids side and bigger kids side and its fenced in. Nice shaded area is perfect right in the middle with picnic tables it allows parents to stay in the shade but still able to see the entire park. Really like the music and the roller slides which was a hit with my 3 yr old.

Beautiful park with a pond, kid’s playground, good size pool, where you can just relax and enjoy the day. Kids also enjoy feeding the ducks and geese. It has a hiking trail to Castle Craig. It also has picnic tables where you can enjoy your lunch outdoor. My most favorite is the Christmas light show during the holiday season where you can walk or drive around the park to admire the wonderful display.

My wife held her dance recital here due to Covid-19. This was my second time here, only other time to see Christmas decorations they display. I had a good time. Their amphitheatre is very nice for what it is. Being able to sit and enjoy all the dancers. Weather turned out well for what it had been predicted to be.

I enjoy this park so very much. Myself and my husband got married over 15 yrs ago there. It was so beautiful by the pond. I love walking thru the whole park our kids are grown now but we use to always take them their to the jungle gym playscape they have. They also have a large community pool. Its a great place

Great park with many different hiking trails. The top, Castle Craig has a great view of the surrounding area. There is also a reservoir with a paved walking trail that surrounds it.

Awesome quick hike! Steep at first but then levels out, to the summit you have to get a little dirty and rock climb up but it’s so much fun! Such a beautiful view!

Its Hubbard Park. No need say more? But since it is a review I will add that is is pleasant, picturesque and has something for everyone. They have some picnic tables but I prefer to bring my own chair if Im there to just relax. There is a hiking trail to Castle Criag or you can drive up. Worth it for the view especially on a clear day. They have a large kids play area but it is direct sun in the afternoon which is nice in the winter but hot in the summer. There is a band shell where music is hosted during various events. Daffodil festival when that starts up again. It is a beautiful park to do leisure walking and lots of ducks and geese. Love this place.

A complete surprise. We went here on a whim so I had no idea what to expect and this place did not disappoint. Such a beautiful, scenic park, well maintained, plenty of parking, trails for hiking and biking, birds, ponds the reservoir, Castle Craig... Need I say more? Pack a lunch, bring some water, grab the kids and the dog and go.

After the initial area right near the highway the rest of the hike to the castle was great. Very steep for the last leg. There are no trash bins or bathrooms at the castle so prepare for that!

The attitude and general atmosphere of this park is peaceful and pleasant. There have been many car shows that come through that are entertaining. The water in the middle is dense with duck dumps so I wouldnt recommend sticking your feet in

I ran here for Cross Country. It had a lot of open space to run. It is very peaceful there. And the play scape looks very nice. Great park for kids to play on that are younger, like kids ages 12 and under.

Clean park connected to Castle Craig hike with colourful flowers, different birds, lake and fountain.

The trails are varied in width and challenges. The bugs were not bad.I will definitely return. Once nearing the top views are good and from the top are breathtaking.

Absolutely love Hubbard Park. One of my top favorite parks in CT. There is something for everyone here. There is a large pond with a paved road and gravel walkway that circles around it. Many people park along the road and get out to have a picnic, feed geese, take a walk, or go fishing. There are tons of geese and ducks to feed. I love feeding the geese. The geese are always funny, pretty friendly, and fun to watch. The geese and ducks call the pond home and clearly love it there! There is a path that goes all the way around the pond. Beautiful fountains in the pond, they light them up at night and it’s very pretty. Below the pond is a small waterfall that drains into another smaller pond with a fountain. Very nice walkways in that area. There’s a playground at the other end as well as tennis courts and a pool. You can drive all around the pond, drive up to the tower, and there are several roads leading through the park. One of the biggest attractions is the tower at the top of Castle Craig. There is a road that is open seasonally that goes up to the tower. You can climb up the tower. The views are beautiful and you can easily see New Haven and Sleeping Giant in Hamden, and even the Long Island Sound on a clear day. There are multiple hiking trails of various difficulties that lead up the mountain to the tower. Many people enjoy hiking here. I691 separates the developed park area from the quieter forested area. They also have many events down at the park seasonally. During the holidays they have the Festival of Lights where they have tons of holiday displays all lit up and you can drive though and see them. They do a great job every year. The most popular is the Daffodil Festival held every spring. Each year they plant lots of daffodils and many people come from all over to look at them. This is a wonderful park to visit, no matter the time of the year. There is always something to do, and there is truly something for everyone. Definitely a go to spot!

Attended a photo shoot at Hubbard Park the background there was fantastic. There were lots of people everywhere even during this time of social distancing but everybody was able to maintain a decent distance from one another. All the waterfalls were excellent background for photos.

Meriden had done a great job preserving this beautiful park.

Always a peaceful and relaxing environment. The views from Castle Craig are breathtaking, especially on nights when they open it for full moon viewing.

Visited the park for the yearly daffodil flower festival. We all had a great experience. There is a nice hiking route too.

I came with my wife and her mother to view the christmas tree lights, the lights were beautiful and the park overall is really clean. There were a lot of other people and families there as well so you dont have to be afraid or anything like that. But just so you know the tower is closed for the season right now. Its a great place overall to go to for a nice walk or a romantic walk around the park. There lots of dogs as well there so feel free to bring yours along also!

Lots of cool things to see and do at this park. The tower can be reached by vehicle or you can hike through the woods. The tower offers a good view.The pond can be walked around. I have seen ducks and geese.They also have a nice Christmas light display and a Daffodil Festival.It is a nice place to visit...K-Lap

It was like always a lovely hike had some dogs though who were kind of loud and seemed unfriendly towards other dogs so that was slightly concerning parking was hard to come by due to many fellow hikers today [nothing wrong with that] my friend and I made it to the top and it is pretty crowded today but still love the view and hike

Beautiful park to drive and explore any time of the year! Springs Daffodil Festival is small but worth attending at least once and around Christmas the lights and display there are so cheerful and festive. It has a large playground and pool for the kids and a large pond to fish in

Hubbard Park is a great place to go and relax alone or with family throughout the year, but especially during the Holidays. Going to visit the Light Festival is beautiful. You could drive through or better jet bundle up and just find a parking and walk through the displays. My kids love it.

Ive been to various different parks around the north east and this is hands down one of the greatest parks in the United States, and perhaps the very best in the north east region.

Hiked from Hubbard part to East Peak area. Good hike and great views. The maps trails / trail blazes are often confusing and having the trial going I more than 2 directions at once. Not for the first time hiker. Trails are rough with broken stone. Wear good footwear.

We stopped here for a quick rest when driving down to Virginia. It was a great place to walk the dog around and stretch our legs. I didnt see any bathrooms. So we stopped somewhere else real quick to use the restroom. There were a lot of ducks and geese to enjoy and the pond was serene. It was the perfect place for us to stop.
