Its a great place to get away thats right outside of the Milwaukee. Plenty to of things to admire. If you take the kids it can make for a nice family field trip and lots to play I Spy with.
I come here about 3-4 times/week either while running or with the kids. The kids love the new kids area by the small tower. Lots of stuff to climb and explore. Trails are beautifully manicured. The staff has made a ton of beautiful improvements this year.
We picnicked here for Fondys Farm Dinner at the end of August as all of us needed to stay socially distant due to Covid-19. We drove to a parking area and walked with our Crate and Barrwl picnic table, low camp chairs, the meal and cooler of drinks. We were in the middle of beautiful wildflowers, the weather was perfect! Very idyllic!
Came with our toddler for the natural style play area. And she had a blast climbing all over the different obstacles. Trails seem well kept. Will definitely visit again.
Easy hikes and great views. The observation tower is great with two binoculars at the top. There are multiple types of terrain: prairie, woods, bogs, and an education center. Great place to take kids for a hike.
Great place to walk and commune with nature. They have a great tower that on clear days you can see for miles.
A beautiful place to enjoy walking in nature, yet close to the city.
It is pretty besides the fact that there is some litter
Beautiful place!! Cant wait to come back!
Lovely nature area with lots of well-maintained paths and brimming with natural prairie flowers.
Vary nice place for a short run or walk!
Great hike amongst the old growth hardwood forest and fields. Definitely coming back.
A small, yet beautiful preserve with lots of native prairie flora.
I like coming here off Swan Rd.(91st) to do a little hiking. Climbing the tower gives you a good workout and nice view. Ive taken my mountain bike on the trails too. It can be bumpy, so Id recommend at least a hybrid bike.
This was something I just happened to drive by one day and instantly made me curious. When I finally visited this place I loved it. Decent trails going in different directions and theyre long. Viewing towers. A nursery right when you pull in. Lots of little plaques with information about the types of plants, insects, and animals. And the best part, you can bring your dog. Definitely will be making this one of my go to dog walking places
Decent view from the tower. Great place to walk a dog. Tons of cool birds and wild flowers.

Awesome place to take your kids and dogBeautiful, pleasure to walk and take in its beauty
Beautiful & peaceful!
This place is great and the staff there really seems to care about the place and their overall mission. We also really love Louise the turtle that they have who walks the halls there and is out back waiting for you to feed her strawberries on nice days! If you are looking for a little bit of nature in the city this is definitely a great place to go.
I had a quick fun (but muddy(to be expected, it is March ) walk to the look out towel and back.
Excellent walking trails. Relatively flat with several small wooded areas and marsh. Nearly one square mile. Dogs allowed on leash. Trails are chipped gravel, wood chips, and grass. Saw one bicyclist, but dont know if bikes are allowed.
Great place to walk and see several environments. Thank you Mayor Nurenberg!
Wish they would put in concrete paths for bicycling
A wonderful family place. The winter frolic is a great way to get out and enjoy the outdoors in winter. Enjoy nature!
Nice place for a walk
Great place to go and hike, learn or attend an event
The walking paths are great and well groomed my wife and I and our dog love it
Cool lots to do there.
Peaceful, great place to take dogs for a walk (leashed)
I love this place! Absolutely beautiful in the spring, fall, and especially summer. Perfect size for a ≥1 hour walk depending on the paths you take. The lookout tower is a perfect feature there, at the heart of open fields and sparse forests. On clear days, you can even see the U.S. Bank building downtown Milwaukee through the telescopes at the top. The tower goes up maybe four or five stories so be sure not to trip going on the stairs!
First time going with the family. We were there for over 3 hours we had a lot of fun. There are no bathrooms on the weekend. Dont forget your water bottle. Great path for kids.
Nice, short trails with an observation tower. Shady in spots.
I love having this beautiful Park to walk in!
Spring time is a beautiful time to spend in the forest. There are 3 different wooded areas with different plant & tree species. Very peaceful!! Cant forget to mention the activity in the wetlands! Very beautiful and busy time of year.
Great place to hike.
This in a nice place for a quick hike. There are no hills which make it a little drab and a lot of people use it. This is a dog friendly park.
What a fun destination. With outdoor trails to explore, two towers to climb and more.
Great trails and wildlife! Always free and open from dawn to dusk everyday! Love the tower too!
Hope to visit again in the summer!
Just started walking. Well be back to catch more trails!

Great hiking and beautiful scenery!
Watched the tapping of the maple trees. Very informative!
Good place for a walk or to let your dog have some fun. Refreshing and mind energizing
The walk to the tower from the small parking lot on the west side of the preserve, off Swan Rd, is half a mile or less on the trail through the woods. Beautiful views. Verity of birds to see.
The visitors center had a very nice display of insects.
This is what environmentlyfriendly is all about.
Nice park to walk in. Havent been there after a rain, it could be a little messy with many paths just dirt or grass.
Its fresh, expansive and novel. Makes quite the picturesque walk all winter, spring and fall. The lookout tower is a rave for kids.
