A concert at the Levitt Shell is a unique experience. This is an outdoor amphitheatre! It is a great atmosphere! Bring your blanket or lawn chairs, picnic foods if you desire, and family and enjoy a relaxed evening of music. They host both free and ticketed concerts. They have seats available, picnic tables, etc. in a nice area. A Memphis treasure!

What a FUN TIME! Who doesnt love free concerts! Put some cash in the bucket... $1... $20... Whatever you can afford to keep this amazing gem in Memphis going. Theyve updated the lights and sound and it is a first class music experience. Everyone gets down front to dance once the music gets going! Bring your dinner, whatever canned beverage you have of choice... Or hit up a food truck or the beer truck over next to the stage! Any way you slice it, youre going to have a good time!! Dogs are welcome too!! Just sit at the top or stage left lawn!

Levitt Shell is a beautifully renovated outdoors amphitheater. During the summer and new Fall 2017 they had a free series at the Dr. Benjamin Hooks Library. Levitt Shell is a place for theall of the very young and all of the wonderfully aged. The sound is amazing and the lights are set the mood of the various songs. I have encountered all artists are approchable and kind. Bring your blankets and/or chairs, picnic baskets filled with food and drinks, and toys for the children. Its great to listen to new artist and watch seasoned artist. Also, if you dont bring food and drinks the food trucks are great places to eat. Ticket purchases maybe required for some big named events; for example, Robert Cray, July 13.

We came here for the first time for the free concert series. Very awesome venue, every lawn seat has a good view and the sound carries through at an enjoyable volume. Clean bathrooms, plenty of room. The lawn was soft enough to throw a blanket on and comfortably watch the live band. Loved our experience, would visit again.

Those hired to record at the Levitt Shell place their table front and center. All sound is projected by the half dome far out, so the recordings are absolutely terrible. It has been years of this. When will they figure out why their amazing sound at the events sound just horrible in published recordings?

Good cocktails. One of the few clubs in North Park on University - so having a dance is fun.Plus: great cocktails. The Moreno mule made with tequila, ginger beer, and grapefruit is excellent. Stiff drink for $7. Not going to see that at any downtown clubs. The vibe is grunge. Which can be good or bad. Maybe a little ghetto.Have fun!

Ive been coming to the Shell for 10 years, since I was a child, and never have I seen disrespectful advertising like this. In your face advertising. A Jim Keras Subaru car is parked right in the middle of where Ive sat for 10 years- a popular seating area. The only area that is dog friendly. I dont believe it is appropriate to have this type of advertising here and I hope that the Legit Shell will reconsider. Their reputation falls when folks see this tacky display... all for a buck.

We saw Jason Isobel last night. I was in a wheelchair and sat in the appropriate section. I believe that too many tickets were sold. The crowd moved close to tje stage making a narrow path between myself and the constant stream of people coming and going. I was run into at least 6 times and once so hard it actually hurt me. You need a barrier between the handicapped seating and the stage to avoid this in the future. I am extremely dissapointed in the venue but not the performance.

The Shell is on of the best places in Memphis to go for live music. Every year they do a free concert series that is open to anyone. Its a great experience for families and friends alike. You can follow the concert series on their website and also donate money so they can keep going. I would highly recommend everyone to also attend Stars at the Shell as this is when they make most of their money to keep the free shows going!

Went to see Jason Isbell. Was the worst experience I’ve ever had at an outdoor concert/event. There were not enough people to scan bags and your tickets so the line to get in took over an hour. Then there were 4 food trucks, each with one person taking orders and 2-3 cooking and filling orders. I finally gave up and left my food behind because I missed the first 2 songs and it looked like it was going to be another 15 minutes at least. So if they’re going to have a paid concert with that many ticket buyers, they need to find a way to get people in much quicker, and they need more options to get attendees food and drinks, or allow you to bring your own.My experience almost ruined the whole night for us even though we got to hear our favorite artist. And everyone sitting near us was just as upset.Yes, it’s a beautiful venue, but they need to step up their game if they’re going to put on that kind of show.
