Rankin Park

I love this park! It is excellent for children with super cool play structures and walking trails. I have yet to find it crowded and the bathrooms are wonderful!

Its beautiful here, very well kept, nice grounds & its nestled in to a bowl of steep hills all around which are lush, green & full of nice trees & foliage. Theres also several blooming trees now, giving bright colors of pink, white & purple w/lovely fragrances filling the air. Its pleasantly majestic.

Beautiful park! The playground is also very entertaining for the children. The restrooms are still open and are decent.

Lots of open space. Trails for hiking. Nice play ground close to bathrooms which are usually clean. Bbq areas with lots of seating. Many areas with shade for relief on hot days. Close to a very nice baseball field. Kids and I enjoy going to this park often.

Very clean park! Play areas for small and big kids. The park has trails and is very peaceful. There’s restrooms as well. We had a blast at this park would definitely come here again. Also there are picnic areas with lots of tables. Would recommend bug spray though it has lots of trees and bushes so there are lots bugs flying around.

Beautiful park in Martinez named after James Rankin a famous pioneer from the gold rush days. Clean facilities, steep but fun hiking trails.

This is the most diverse park near downtown Martinez, and we do have good parks here. definitely worth exploring the grounds!

This place is amazing. The kids really enjoyed themselves.

What a cute little fun spot to gather together, great bbq pits and plenty of tables to seat a good bunch of people! Quiet, set back against a hillside, had 2 deer families come down at dusk to eat, very quaint park.

I go to water aerobics at the Rankin Pool as often as I can. It’s a salt water pool and it’s been recently redone so it’s very nice. They also have lap swimming and a separate kiddie pool. Instructors are great and the pool is awesome. Go now before it shuts down for winter!

Lots of tables and BBQ pits. Restroom needed better care but were usable. Lots of kids play sets and room to run around.

The park is a beautiful place for children to play. The pool area is great place for children, family and friends to gather for parties and swimming. They have very nice shaded areas.

Very fun park. Lots of creative things to climb on and play with. The nature loop in the back of the park was nicely shaded and made for a moderately challenging hike for a short distance with small kids but we saw plenty of wild life that made it fun.

It is a nice pool. Enjoyed going there for water aerobics.

Great outing for the kiddos.Outdoor shallow pool for kids of all ages. We attended the pumpkin Dunkin and the kids were able to splash in the pool and pick a pumpkin from the pool to take him with them for the Halloween festivities.

I was taken here as a child and now I take my children. I have never had a uncomfortable or terrible experience here. Overall it is a very clean park with plenty of room for kids to run, climb, and explore nature. It has a good variety of play structures to keep tiny tots as well as teens entertained. Bathrooms are decently clean, more often than not. Usually not that crowded during the weekdays. Majority of parents whom bring their children are friendly and acknowledge and greet you immediately. Sometimes even sparking up some small talk. I love the diversity of the families that visit here too. Everyones made to feel welcome and our kids get to learn and develop their socialization skills with each other in a supportive, diverse, positive, and fun filled setting.

We had our 50th class reunion at Rankin Park today. Its a great place to have a party. The weather was perfect and everyone had a good time.

Decent spot from what I remember back when I was a kid

I love this park for being on the shady side of a hill with two historical trails that wind up into the mountains. Nice BBQ areas and kids play structures, all new. Unfortunately, I do not like what people have done to it- litter strewn around, lonely pieces of clothes, dog poop near the trail.

Went for grandchildrens swim meet. Martinez swim team snack bar was highly disorganized. Took 30-40 minutes to get cup of coffee. At the end they had a table set up scooping ice cream in front of everyone. When my grandson asked how much? Was told its only for their fundraisers. How Rude is that! Dont invite others to your pool to be openly rude! Especially to children. Shame on you, Martinez!Water was cold and both kids added seconds to their times! Not Good!! Beautiful park though.

A nice & clean Aquatic Park with Lifeguards on staff. Nice outdoor pools for the kiddies.

The area is great for family events large or small. The park is surrounded by hills (as apposed to hideous fence lines) that sort of guide children back towards the central area in case the crowd hides them from sight. This gives it more of a backyard feel for parents since they can relax and enjoy themselves without always having to be on constant watch...

Gem of a park with a cool slide hidden at the back of the municipal pool. Toilets have no soap and are dirty, however.

This is a great park with a fantastic baseball field and some pretty cool local teams that welcome you to come and play baseball here. If baseball is not your game then there are some great hikes not far away and a kids play structure is another added bonus.

Best family fun park ever why go spend hundreds of dollars any where else. This is must visit location .. For family outings and parties open from 12-5 cost from free to 6 dollar families of up to 5 people is 20 the have summer passes and classes ... You can bring your own food inside.

Beautiful park with great close up views of the Delta Waterway. Lots of grass areas to sit on and relax, there are nice clean and kept up picnic tables, walking trails, lots of benches to sit on. Nice parking area. An nice place to be at sunset.

Great playgrounds for both younger and older kids. Cool long slide, tunnel and rock climbing thing. Wish it had more shade though, so be prepared!

Hidden gem of a park (behind the softball field and the pool)! Modern playground for kids 3-11... nicely kept grass area (although its on a hill).The playground is the big deal here!Caveat- the homeless are usually camping out here, so be aware in the early mornings and late evenings. I also saw a group of young adults 18+ hanging out here after 7pm... not sure what they were up to (I was leaving).

Huge area. Great for events, picnics, great views that can take all day to see. It has a skate park, plenty of different playgrounds for the kids. Great for a long walk with the dogs, or just lounge in the sun all day.

This is a fantastic small neighbor aquatic park. It has two pools. One for children, and one for adults. No food court. Two small vending machines available. Tips: dont park a cross the street from June to September to avoid a 38 dollars parking ticket as I received one yesterday. Other than that I will definitely come back.

Great slide and climbing rocks are cool too. Plenty of room to run, and has decent bathrooms.

Since the park amd picnic areas have been re-done this place is perfect. You dont have to worry about bees anymore. The grills are so nice along with the picnic tables, really nice for group functions. The play structures are divided into two area for under five and over five and they are fun. Even I was climbing the rock structures.

I dont know the truth but soon I will have news of the place.

Granddaughters absolutely loved flying kites here at Rankin Park my husband and I also had fun hanging out with the grandkids here. They have a large BBQ/Picnic Area, also have a walking trail. Very clean and handicap accessible restrooms and parking.

Great location for a park, at a dead end (no traffic, safe for kids). Havent been to the water park yet, but will soon. Nice walking trail also with relaxing creek.

Rankin is a beautiful park its been there for as long as I can remember I played there as a child as well as my three sons and now my granddaughter . Theres lots of trees and picnic tables, group areas with bbq pits large grass areas .two restrooms, water fountains three different play areas each age appropriate, hiking trails and baseball field theres also a public pool within walking distance only down fall is parking lot is small but overall a wonderful place to spend the day

Beautiful trails and redone park

Great for all ages - we took 14 kids ages 2-18 and all had a great time. The older ones hiked, younger ones climbed, even the grown-ups raced each other to the top of the rope climbing structure.

Such a cute park in a beautiful setting! And I love the proximity to the public pool. I have only two reservations1) the big slide was closed who knows how long that will take to be repaired?2) its a pretty succluded park not visible from the street at all, I would not feel comfortable bringing my toddler here alone

It is great place to have pool partys, picnics, and big family lunches. Also there are different play grounds for different age groups of kids. I hope you enjoy it!!!!

Very nice and beautiful park. It has enterntaining play structures for kids, places to rest for the parents, soothing atmosphere, and a gorgeous surrounding. This place is so nice, its a masterpiece!!!

Really nice park. Theres a bocce ball court, skate park, different play structures for the kids to play on and the marina is really nice to stroll around
