Nejedly Staging Area

Good place to start the sixty floor hike up to the top! Love the views of the straight once you get there. Good workout but kids may have a tough time. It took about thirty minutes to get to the top and once you are there you’ll find conveniently placed benches to enjoy the views.

Its actually the Saint Catherine Cemetery way up top if youre lucky to get in there during the week everythings beautiful up there except the cemeteries in poor condition lots of headstones toppled over and broken but I suggest a ride or a walk up there sometimeSpectacular views

There is about 3 ways up the Hill from here. Awesome views once you get up the Hill a. Are a lot of options also.

Good place to get your fix for the outdoors. Trails can be steep and narrow at times. But great views from the top. Free to visit. Bring water and some good hiking shoes.

Great place for views of the straights across to Benicia. Small park with a lot of vertical. You start climbing pretty much as soon as you leave the staging area.

I liked it because its a trail I hadnt taken before. Relatively warm because of the east facing topography blocking the wind. Great views! Found an apricot tree growing wild...30 footer! Crazy to think what this place would look like 100 years ago when John Muir was around. Must have been incredible.

Need a pair of good hiking shoes, lot’s incline ...bring a hiking stick.....Fresh air, great exercise, then award you some great views .....love it!

Cool hiking trailhead is in this parking area. Scenic views of the bridge and straight. Rolling hills with a little bit of incline, but not too much. Mountain line territory as stated on the entrance signs. I went in the evening and saw several owls, a handful of young deer, and many other birds. Parking lot was empty when I went (weekday evening). Free entry. Free parking. They do shut the gates at sunset - but you can still leave as long as you are already parked inside the lot. Signs stated a 10pm curfew for the entire park area.

Its like being in another time and place.

Unfortunate loss of some now native eucalyptus trees but well maintained... One more star for a good drinking fountain.

Great hiking area, along side road park look out onto the Bay.

The trail is steep, overgrown, only minimally maintained, and has lots of Poison Oak...

Love taking of the four trailheads up the hill and beyond...many options including going all the way to Port Costa.
