The place marked on the map has no trails. About a half a mile west, on the other side of the road is a short trail to the river. The trail is clear and the river is beautiful!

Definitely the best trails in the Marinette/Peshtigo area in terms of beauty, serenity, and feeling of isolation from technology. However, I do wish the entrances to the area had garbage cans (as I did find some litter) and a place to lock a bike.

We hiked around up here the first warm day of spring - the area was still frozen over. It appears it will be quite swampy during the warmer season. Very beautiful area.BEWARE - some moron is cutting down trees in the area upstream of my photos and has a personal camp set up. He also has signs stating he will find and kill anyone that messes with his stuff - but its okay to do the deed in his hut. Probably some idiot teenager.This would be a 5 star area if not for the idiocy of men.
