Maplecrest Park

Beautiful park and incredible trees all around.. unfortunately there is always trash all around. I dont understand why there is always so much trash lying around. It is also common for some folks to put on pretty loud music next to the playgrounds which is weird. Anyway it is a wonderful place but could be so much better if we would take care of it.

Its a quiet park for the most part, but has great amenities. It has a private parking lot, a rest house(but it was closed). It has a Childrens playground, skate park, and picnic benches and sitting benches all throughout the part.And plenty of areas to sit under a shaded tree and distance yourself from others. I was able to ride my bike on a trail.

Lovely small park. Good place to walk in the neighborhood. Nice climbing gym for littles. And a skate park.

Nice park. I just went looking around the neighborhood with my family and we went to this park with my 2 girls. They enjoyed running and taking fresh air...

This is a great park to go visit on a nice day. It has a skate park, two playgrounds (one for older and one for younger kids) and it has a track that goes around the park and a field commonly used for ultimate frisbee camps and baseball. The rest building in the park is used by the Y, similarly to the one in Memorial park.

It was perfect.It had a great park with a nice breeze, and it even had a SKATEPARK!! It was awesome it had a half pile, a dropdown ramp, and grinding bar and alot more. Also, there a walgreens across the street and a police station for convenience. Best park ever

This is a review for the skatepark specially: The park was awesome there was tons of different things to skate for both street and transition skateboarders but it’s definitely a little more geared for street skateboarders but still awesome. The kids there were friendly and I made a friend. The difficulty level was intermediate you definitely want a bit of experience skateboarding first and it would be helpful if your comfortable on your board and know how to ollie or are in the process of learning it. Tic tacs are also essential (being able to turn by popping your tail) The only bad part was there was a young scooter kid who kept getting in the way of everyone. Couple of things though:1. You need to know skatepark edict well so your not a nuisance2. Do not drop or bring a kids who are 8 and under this is not a daycare and most of the time they dont know proper edict especially if they are scooter kids but if they know skatepark edict and know how to properly use whatever they are using by all means bring themOver all great skatepark though

One of my favorite local parks for social distancing.

Small but chill park with tons of open areas and benches for seating. The park is clean and the neighborhood community seems pleasant.

Open park with walking trail, 3 baseball fields, 2 playgrounds, a skate park, tennis courts, plenty of shade.

They have a free skate park here. And of course baseball fields and soccer fields. And youre steps from great eats on Springfield Ave. really, it might be one of the greatest parks in the world. But I guess Im biased.

This park is very clean and has a lot to offer. It comes with a toddler play ground and skate park.

Maplecrest is a great little park, with a few ball fields, a nice little playground and a skate park. Great place for a regular Sunday Ultimate pickup game!

Great place with occasional family concerts. Decent park although I wish they had handicapped playground equipment. Be careful tho. This park is safe for the most part but just remember its not far from Newark and is right on a major bus line. Dont get too comfortable!

Great not so little park in South Maplewood. Home to little League games and a really cool public skate park. Nicely maintained and safe.

Love this place to relax.

Awesome Park. The upgrades have certainly made its mark. I encourage everyone to visit with their families and friends.

Nice and clean

I wasnt impressed with the playground. Valisberg Park playground 100x better, even if the crowd is a tad bit ghetto. Maplecrest could do better. The mulch on playground surface is horrible! Kids could get splinters.

The park is very clean and quiet and that is what Im looking for when sun bathing I go there 2 or 3 times a week. plus I feel safe and people who pass you by are friendly. There is a convenience store right on the corner of the park

Good place

Good place to bring kids. There are a few slides, swings and other things to play with. Theres also a soccer/baseball field, skate park and a tennis court.

1st time the last week, absolutely b.e.a.u.t.f.u.l, skateboarding, frisbee practice, kids riding bikes, moms with their babies, couples taking trolls and lets not forget the elderly keeping their bodies in motion. I Loved It...a great go to spot for the whole family.

Great place to run your dog. Clean and well maintained, plenty of space for sports and skating.

Nice little park, but I have two issues, one the wood chips instead of the bouncy surfacing and the water fountain was broken. Its also nice that it happens to be a Pokéstop, so I minded the heck out of it every five minutes for two hours.

So nice and clean. The only thing that bothers me was people walking there dog without a doggi bag to clean up after there pet. You have kids and people playing and picnicking on the grass, the township should have signs and like a bag container throughout the park with a sign staying, Dog walkers to clean up after there pets. Just a suggestion.

Excellent park to walk!

It didnt have a lot of things to do and there was dirt on the path but other than that it was okay. Would be better if they added more playground equipment and the benches were made of different material. And the bathrooms cleanliness was maintained.

A very relaxing place.

Great park!! Tons of room to walk, run, play sports, skateboard, walk your dog, etc. Picnic tables and bathrooms too. Saturdays and Sundays the park is packed with families and dog walkers. Really cool vibes. Very safe too...located right behind the police station.

This is an excellent park with open fields and a pretty good childrens play area. The skate park is a nice addition, located close to the Municipal building.

Nice park, big play area with two sets of playgrounds. One for toddler to 5 yrs old. The other more advanced playground is for ages 5 to 12 yrs old. Also has a soccer field and a mini skateboard park! All in a very good area MAPLEWOOD

As a person who grew up in Maplewood, I was a little embarrassed by the condition of this park. Maybe Ive become spoiled by the much nicer parks in the Bloomfield-Montclair area. The playground was just okay. There was no public restroom, and I am still having nightmares about the port-a-potties, which apparently hadnt been emptied in weeks. I had to take my kids to the local police station in order to go to the bathroom.
