Wakefield Park

A newer, super clean park with clean wood chips instead of dirty sand! Located at the intersection of Prosperity and Summer Ave in Maplewood, MN. A great park with a playground where kids can ride a zipline in 2 different ways: a safety locking chair or a round seat. There are water fountains, grills for BBQing, picnic tables under pavilions, and picnic tables under umbrellas. Not only that but theres a lake right next to the park with a walking/bike path. Its truly a great place to take the family for some relaxing fun!

Wonderful neighborhood park. Newly updated Everything and much safer and cleaner for family gatherings. Park facilities are available for daily rental and new bathrooms adds great finishing touch. Plenty of room for soccer, volleyball, football, and theres even a brand new hockey rink (ice available only in the winter months)Plenty of good parking all around. Good work Maplewood City! Please keep it up.

I love this park. The trail around the park is well maintained. Beautiful trees, a pond, and just all around a nice park!

Loved the playground. We came out on the first nice day of the year and there were plenty of kids. Very accessible. The playground have a ramp feature for wheelchairs to reach almost the top. There are two medium size picnic shelters nearby for gatherings with bbq grills.

Great park with a variety of things to do! A lot of space and a few places to sit. There isnt too many shaded areas. Adding some tables would be a plus! Parking is plentiful as well.

The play equipment is great for littles through elementary school kids. They have accessible swings and the swing zipline. There is a good amount of parking on 2 sides of the playground. The park in normal times has a bathroom. Currently it has porta potties. There are fixed grills and outdoor picnic tables.

Beautiful park!! Nice clean playground plenty of grills and picnic tables!! Wonderful building to rent for an event! Sweet little walk path around the lake!! Definitely a great place to bring the family!!

Best playground in all of Saint Paul!! My went twice this weekend and we will definitely be returning often! So many things for 5 to 12 year olds to play on. His favorite was the zip line swing!

Loved the space and play set areas. There is something for everyone. Pavilion are too get shade/ shelter. Parking. Easy to access.

Great playground area. Wish the restroom was opened and the water fountain on. Portapotty was disgusting. Lots of shaded picnic areas. Need more benches around the playground for us Grannies

This mari-go-round is a lawsuit looking to happen, other than that its very well designed.

Plyaground is good for all ages. Bring chairs or blankets in case picnic tables are full.

My baby cant get enough, all the people adults and children alike are very respectful, kind, and considerate we love this park !!!

Awesome new playground set near a small lake. I bring my kids here oftem, they love it! As a bonus, the rental staff are amazing... Thats me! Lol. :).

If not the best, its one of the best playgrounds on the east side.

Fun little park. Fishing is ok but difficult. Lots of turtles and small panfish. Theres a new community building but Ive never seen it open. Ice rink for the winter looks fun.

Big playground, trail going alongside the lake. New warming house for the skating rink in the winter.

It is not some place I would be inclined to go back to. Algae and trash in the lake and trash everywhere else. Not a fishing lake at all.

Totally new shelters and play structure in summer 2019 making it one of the nicest playgrounds Ive even seen. Friendly, kind, and well-mannered community of kids as well.

Good place. Has a good climbing tree, looks out over nice lake. Recently remodeled playground too, good quality.

Nice ice skating rink with warming house and a brand new park for the kids.

Maplewood has a nice park here right along the lake, and they did the right thing by putting in a community building and improving the amenities here. Thank goodness Parks finally has a win over resources aside from Police and Fire.

Playground is great! Updates to wakefield park are awesome! We cant wait to use the new ice rink and they built a awesome community center! Cant wait to check it out!

Nice little fishing lake caught a bass yesterday

Clean, convient & very safe neighborhood area. Large grass fields, walking trails along lake, clean playground environment with restroom buildings on site.

The view of the lake isnt all that bad, they also build a new community center of some sort. And a few yards or maybe about 25 to 40 feet, theres a place for picnics, etc..

This park boasts large, neatly trimmed fields abutting quaint little Wakefield Lake.

They just built a beautiful new community building and warming house here!

Nice peaceful neighborhood park with a large lake but under construction at the moment so some parts are kind of dug up. The lake is still available and there are sitting areas Pavilions and baseball fields

I love going to parks

Large play area for the kids that they enjoyed. One for older kids and one for tots and babies. Lots of swings including two baby swings. Barbecue area for family fun!

Park was clean and freshly mowed. Walking paths dont connect. Lacked any shade over the play ground, which made it unbearable at times.

A nice park to bring your kids to or to have your dog run laps around the field. One of my favorite parks.

Lake was gross. Garbage, etc.. Only fish caught from dock were bullheads.

The playground there is kinda small.there is also a lake that has many leaches.

Playground equipment is well past the point where it needs to be updated. Scenic views beautiful location.
