Wonderful place, very informative, very welcoming, run by incredibly kind, knowledgable, and hardworking people. I volunteered there for a few months a while back, and I learned so much about the history of black dolls and about all the work that goes into maintaining a non-profit museum. The place may be small, but its well worth the visit.
Deb was welcoming, inspiring, and so sweet! Volunteering for her was really impactful.
Excellent programs and director is a diamond in the rough for this area and abroad.tell friends and especially residents of Mansfield
I was surprised to see this museum in small-town Mansfield, MA. One would expect it to be located in a larger city, and in one more commonly associated with African-American history (e.g., Atlanta, Montgomery, Memphis). It thus caught my attention, so I decided to give it a try. The staff was delightful; one of their daughters took a particular interest in showing my kids around and explaining the significance of the different dolls. It seemed my kids enjoyed the experience as much as I did. It is certainly worth it.
What a surprising find. So much cultural and historical treasures. A must visit for anyone visiting the Mansfield/Foxborough area!!
Its a little off the beaten path, but its very interesting place and worth the effort to visit.
The place was still putting up displays. Lots of stuff were all over the place
