Rasmussen Woods

A great way to get lost in the woods without leaving the city. Varied terrain, nice trails. Wildlife are plentiful.(If you come, please be respectful of nature and others. There have been a lot of screaming/rambunctious children lately and, sadly, adults too. It scares the animals and kills the serene atmosphere)

Wonderful walking trails. Good workout with fluctuating elevation. The floating trail was my favorite part.

I like this location as its within Mankato itself which makes for a quick drive if you live in Kato. My favorite part about these trails would have to be the floating paths it has. The paths are pallets of wood that float on top of the marsh to allow you to walk on water the park also has some great views!

I thoroughly enjoy myself whenever Im in the woods here. At the right time of day, if you keep quiet, youll see deer, birds of all species, brown, red, and black squirrels, and more. Aging but still useful signs give you the highlights of the dolomite cliffs, the marsh, and more. I consider the floating walkway the highlight of my hikes through the park.

I absolutely adore coming to Rasmussen Woods! The trails are a wonderful mix of forest and meadow, sunlight and shade, flowers and trees. If youre looking for a scenic hike, a run on a more complex terrain, or a leisurely stroll this is the place for you!

A couple trails that are peaceful and a grassy for a get together. The main building is in disarray and over grown. Sad because I saw a couple memorials and plaque not upkept. Disappointing.

This Place is amazing, whether to walk threw the garden and the smells or for some high endurance Joging its a very peaceful place. Who ever does that garden deserves an award.

This is a neat little park in Mankato. There are several trails including a floating boardwalk. Lovely trees and rock formations to look at.

I like the area . It’s just a lil area to call ch a lil walkabouts.

A very beautiful park. There are quite a few well kept trails and enough room to explore a bit, even though its surrounded by the city. The floating paths are a really interesting feature, especially when theyre actually floating. They allow you to experience the wetlands there up close.

First place Danielle Anderson brought me when I got to Mankato 3 years ago.

Really pretty trail! Unfortunately there were lots of mosquitoes so we didnt get to stay long. We entered at the top of a hill so there wasnt really any parking. It was also really steep so wear tennis shoes.

Great place to walk dogs. Just stay away after dark.

The nature center was not open during the day and the trails looked overgrown.

Fun experience if you go with friends or family. Very beautiful this time of year, and not as many bugs as there are in the summer. Perfect place for a picnic after a hike through the forest, or for a sightseeing adventure through the forest or marshland.

Great hiking all seasons. We regularly hike the woods. The trails are not terribly packed with people. Its an easy way to have some solitude in town.

Beautiful and quiet scenery, lots of skeeters though so bug spray is a must. Trails were easily accessible, and the parking was plentiful.

This is a great place to go hiking, running or walk your dog. The trails are well maintained! This place is always looking for volunteers to run the nature center!

Great walking trails and a very clean park. Overall, the woods feel very large and open, but are also varying in scenery. There are open plains, forests, and marshes in this park so bring good shoes to walk in. Not a lot of parking spaces, but the park is not frequented often.

Hidden treasure of Mankato. Wooded and wetland trails with wood chips and floating dock trails. Can get very buggy during summer time. Fun trails, but bring plenty of bug repellent.
