Sibley park has always been a cool place to go hand out. We drove by the animals and kids park. Way to many people there that day for us to feel comfortable enough to get out and check out the animals....even though, its still a nice park to check out.
Clean, green and socially distant. Enough room at this park to keep apart and get fresh air. A great place to meet now that inside venues are not the wisest choice for crowds. Please everyone- help keep it nice. Use the trash cans and recycle.
Great spot to go walking. Especially since Covid started. I take my mom here as the trails are level and its very sheltered from the wind.
Great place for everyone! When there is no COVID, you have the petting zoo. Otherwise, you still have the playground, the picnic areas, the workout area, the paths, the flowers. It has something for everyone!
Good sized playground, lots for kids to do. Barn and animal pens were closed due to Covid. Probably be 4 or 5 star if everything was open.
This treasured park holds so many great times & Memories... As a young child the Zoo. Birthday Parties ice skating in winter. Playing endlessly at the playground. Then softball with all of my friends & the umpires were fun too. Concerts on the sliding hill. Weddings & picnics. & swinging the Grandkids. They grow up 2 dam fast. Walking with friends & hiking with the Gappas. To this day & 4 ever I love 2 go there alone. Great place 2 look listen & think.
Nice city park. Large and lots of places to hang out. The riverfront, gardens, animal park, and farm themed playground are highlights.
Love love love the food and customer service. Never had a bad experience.
Very lovely place to go, the flowers are amazing when in bloom and the park is very well upkept, there is places to set up your Hammock.
Excellent family park, playgrounds, farm animals (usually-not during COVID) and nice scenery.
What a wonderful park to take the grandchildren to play. A breath of fresh air was needed due to Covid-19 sheltering us in. The grounds are well taken care of with multiple beautiful gardens! The play area is safe and filled with fun equipment to play on, and a barn that usually has several animals to feed and fun facts about them, however, they are not on site at this time. The drive through the park was peaceful, and before the park closed at 10:30 PM, we watched the 4th of July fireworks from the high point if the park. A lovely day with my son and grand daughter, we will return frequently!
I’m not sure if anyone is aware but Sibley park have snakes. I went this morning walking in my flip flops and there was a snake lying in the grass. It is on the top side of the park. I would say be careful and advice kids not to go to that side.
Great place for a picnic or playing at the play ground with your children. It is also fun when we can see the animals
Beautiful and very clean. Very comfortable for kids and families to come and enjoy some fun in the sun.
Such a a wonder place to relax, or watch a ball game. Beautiful spot to take a deep breath and admire the surroundings
GOOD PLACE TO HAVE YOUR LUNCH.
Beautiful lawn and flowers.Great place to play pokemon go
Very nice walking and picnicking area. The petting zoo was closed due to CoVid so unable to rate that. My only complaint was no bathrooms at all to use while visiting. A couple of portable toilets would have been nice.
All the animals including the fish are gone. Seen a small pond with tad poles in it. Otherwise clean as always. Plenty of shade and if you love Pokemon thats the best place to go as theres plenty of gyms and pokestops.
Love this park, wishing we lived closer so we could visit more often here.
One of my favorite parks to go to. Whether it be the beautiful Christmas lights displayed in the winter time or the various animals to visit during the summer months, we’ve never left here disappointed. The playground is also a highlight.
Great place to take a walk with the family.
Calm, peaceful, can take a nap and not be robbed by squirrels
I liked it because of the more quite places and trails to walk on. There are paved trails on top of the hill and also down in the park area where the petting zoo is. Our children really enjoyed the whole experience. They enjoy the playing area, the animals and gold fish, and the walk around the park past the water fountain and lilly pad pool.
Nice park lots of open space for walking, beautiful flowers, well maintained gardens
Creative playspace for many ages. We were sorry the petting zoo was closed due to COVID.
Always clean. Never too crowded.
Lovely little park at all times of the year. New and clean playgrounds and well maintained landscapes. December is our favorite because of the Kiwanis lights. There are animals to see, including reindeer, and its a free activity (or perhaps a donation). They have warming buildings in winter and ice skating as well as hot chocolate and Santa.
Its beautiful and has great paths
The line was long but its well worth it. Take the family its a great tradition. Thank you for all of the organizations involved to put on such a great show for all of us. Merry Christmas
Nice place to take family for Holiday lights. You can take your kids to see Santa, get hot cocoa and even get some exercise as youre seeing probably millions of Lights. Its worth the drive but definitely wear your walking shoes.
Sibley Park is a gem of Mankato, MN. Located in the western-most part of the city, it sits at the convergence of the Minnesota and Blue Earth Rivers. Its also one of Mankatos oldest city parks, established in 1887. Amongst the features to explore at this expansive park are beautiful flower gardens, ponds and fountains, a petting zoo, playground equipment, baseball fields, grounds to walk and hike, and a serene outlook of the Minnesota river. Its a very relaxing place to enjoy time with family or just a Sunday afternoon stroll. One of the most interesting features of the park is a large hill in the middle of the park which was formed by glaciers, which makes for a popular sledding hill during the winter months. Sibley park is also known for its winter Kiwanis Festival of Lights, in which the entire park is lit with hundreds of 1000s of dazzling light displays, and is a popular attraction during the Christmas season.
Very nice Park with animals to see when it isnt Covid.
A wonderful place for some connection!
Great park beautiful quiet park.
Fun park with at least two playgrounds. Beautiful garden in the summer. Great place to take a 2 year old too!
Great park! The winter Christmas lights were amazing and well laid out! The park is very spacious! Well kept and great for outdoor activities and picnics!
Awesome place. My kid enjoyed light show
What an absolutely wonderful park. I love bringing the kids here. Its huge, there are animals and playgrounds, and its great for walking.
The Kiwanis Christmas lights display was absolutely gorgeous. We had a great time! We did the wagon ride, only $5 per person, and it was $ well spent! I look forward to visiting the park during the summer as well!
Beautiful gardens and petting zoo. Great playground.
Free petting zoo. Plenty of parking. Open late (10:30 if I recall). Though someone needs to ponder the wisdom of several fountains which are stagnant water ponds breeding mosquitoes.
Sibley is a diamond of a park. It seems well maintained and loved by the locals. It hosts a series of play equipment, animals and walking paths. The Christmas light show is a great date night or family outing.
This is our new family tradition. We drove from Prior lake, for the first time ever this year. The parade was awesome with all the lights on the vehicles. But when you get to the park grab some hot coco and get ready for the count down! Explosion of lights everywhere and on everything! Food and ice skating, its a giant village. One of the coolest things i have ever seen in my life. The kids immediately asked if we could go back next year!
Unexpected treat in the city of Mankato.
We went here yesterday to see kiwanis holiday lights which were amazing. Parking is well managed and volunteer s are helpful..
Lots of different paths, nice parking areas. A bit difficult to find this first time trying to go there, but worth it!
The lights were wonderful...we enjoyed a lot...
A wonderful park to walk and enjoy the surrounding scape. It is fairly basic but offer fine views near the main city. I wish they allowed dogs!
Our family has always loved Sibley Park!
It was awesome being at the Sibley Park today, Sunday, July 7, 2019! I enjoyed every moment I spent there.
Awesome park with live animals! Lots of fun park features. Very memorable experience.
Always a great experience every time I go here. Clean park with animals in the summer and amazing Christmas lights in the winter. Such a beautiful place to take photos too.
Great park for all families. The lights display for December is nothing short of amazing.
Love it here my daughter loves the park and animals
We visited for the Christmas lights. This is our second year attending. I love that you can either walk through the park or drive. They have a horse and wagon you can pay for. They have warming houses, ice skating (BYOS), and concessions. Thru have lights that are tuned to music, a huge Santa house, and I swear millions of lights. We have done bluff valley and la crosse and this is by far our favorite
So beautiful and so much to it.
Great sledding hill and Christmas lights display in winter! Park is awesome in the summertime too
The lights are sweet. We got there early, like 530, and did not have to wait in any lines. Ive heard from others that if youre there later the lines can be much longer.
Great place to play Pokémon Go
Beautiful views year around
Lots of varieties of trees. Nice Christmas light display in season.
Great time at Kiwanis holiday lights. They do AWESOME every Christmas. 1st time there.
Love taking my family and my dog here!
What a great place, with animals you can pet and feed. Fun playground for the kids to play as well.
Awesome Kiwanis light display. Definitely worth it. We got there around 5:30 and the wait wasnt bad.
Took our 5 year old grandson. The outing was pure magic. Seeing the display was amazing, but seeing it through his eyes took it to a whole other level. Not to be missed!!
Amazing light show. The Kiwanis do an amazing job putting this on. It is a must go.
Great little park and animal park. The animals are well cared for, and bring quarters so you can feed them. Petting zoo is open on occasion. Huge playground with 3 jungle gyms, from friendly for all ages, to a bit more advanced for older kids. Walk a bit out from the bathrooms to a small well maintained garden. Theres also a ridge trail above the garden, and more trails that run along the river if you keep driving around to the far side of the park.
My 4 y/0 loves this park! He has such a great time with all the different areas to play and animals to pet and fees. Great family park!
Very nice park to explore nature
The light show was amazing
Fun, cool little park. Good for walking around. Pokemon Go friendly. In the summer, theres a little petting zoo. Playground. A lot of care clearly goes into the flower gardens.Theres a weird... Smell? I think theres a nearby processing plant of some kind - recycling or something like that. It is unpleasant but not absolutely intolerable (most days).
Great park on the river with a lot of variety. Walking paths, petting zoo, play areas, covered picnic areas, band shell, buildings for events, baseball diamonds, private areas on top of hill, and gardens to explore. Always clean, and safe.
Its become an annual family tradition to see all the lights at Christmas time. Definitely want to go during the week and get there early.
Kiwanis Christmas lights was amazing!
Was a really nice park! Had lots of lights set up! And the staff were really nice while they were setting up there Christmas lights lol . I had a good time
The plants were beautiful
Nice place to visit for a walk or picnic, they also have a nice playground for the kids.
Great place for family and friends to get together. Well maintained and safe
Great place to picnic when I am dropping in to visit with our business major son at Mankato State. Very extensive park with many places to find privacy. Wonderful hammock potential. They have a drive up on a high Ridge has a beautiful overlook to the river. They have a stork sites to visit. Excellent.
Beautiful and well maintained grounds. Always enjoy visiting this park with family and friends.
Visited yesterday evening, lovely lights very beautiful at night! Concessions in warming spot not free, hot cider was served to me cold, had to go back to get hot cup . Very cozy atmosphere, better to park and walk than drive, very slow and long procession when driving. As usual Mankato residents visibly uncomfortable with racial diversity... This includes volunteers, people please it is 2019. We all deserve to be here... Also they should play Christmas carols in the Giving barn, there are statues of carolers and no music???? Please add music in there would have been amazing! Overall nice getaway in Mankato!
Great for family outings.
A need and lively place to spend time alone and with friends.
