If you are looking for a fun and safe environment for your kids this is a great place! We went on a Saturday and it was busy but the staff still had plenty to do for everyone!

We’ve make it a point to include this stop on every road trip possible! Our kids are 10, 8, and 5, and there is more than enough to occupy them for hours and hours. The huge tree house and barnyard animals are always the biggest hits. A big cafe, bank, and stage let our youngests’ imaginations soar, and the tools, art centers, and gardens kept our oldest busy.

We are from out of the area. This was a wonderful place! My 2.5 year old was entertained for 4 whole hours! There was even a baby area for our 3 month old to enjoy. The staff was super friendly as well. Will come back if we visit Mankato again!

I was here photographing the Mankato Symphony Orchestra and had never been before as I dont have younger children. I wish this was an option when my kids were younger though. There is so much to do and even though there were a lot of people there, the number of exhibits kept the kids spread out so they could enjoy. I would recommend bringing your children for a visit!

My kids really enjoyed the place. The only negative was that some of the exhibits indoors like woodworking and painting had been overused and things either didnt work or were dilapidated. Everything else was great.

I loved all the hands on experiences available. Domestic and work life scenarios are available to spark imaginative educational learning in a complete playtime setting. Staff throughout were cleaning the whole time we were there ... greatly reducing concerns about shared germsAn excellent time for the whole family.

Definitely a great place to bring the kiddos, but I wouldnt call it a museum as much so an activity center. Theres maybe two things that actually educate kids, the rest is just play time.Their indoor treehouse it super cool, though. As a parent, I WANTED TO GO IN!!Regardless of lacking educating functions to call it a Museum, I would totally recommend this place to anyone with kids of most ages. Infants may get bored.

A fun place to visit. It is great for children 8 and younger. My 6 year old had a blast, while my 12 year old was just a good sport. The tree house is a super fun feature. My kids played there for 30 min non stop. It was not very crowded when we visited and it was on a Saturday. There is lots to do and it is fairly priced to get in.

Love bringing my kids here! They have so many activities with friendly and informative staff! So nice to be able to bring them here especially in the winter time in cold Minnesota. They get plenty of exercise and let their energy out from being cooped up in the house since its too cold to play outside. Would definitely recommend

In our constant quest to find activities to tire our children on the weekends, this place scores a 10. We are now members and in a pinch on a day when we have nothing planned, letting our 6 and 4 year olds run around in the treehouse for a few hours will surely ensure the initiation of bedtime sequence in a timely manner that night. Also, the staff does a great job engaging all visitors and providing interesting learning opportunities for the kiddos (and parents). You should definitely go.

The size from outside is deceiving. Once inside though after 3 plus hours with my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter she cried when we had to go! Staff is friendly and helpful! I thought the admission price was cheap compared to other activities for the kids and they get to learn as they play! Very clean too!

Great place to bring your young kids! They have added a new bank area with a teller window, a car and even a canister tube to send the money to the car! The kids love shopping for groceries and then making you something for at the café counter. They also have special activities in the upstairs at certain times and they change their seasonal area which is always educational. Dont forget the construction zone and huge tree house... Really has it all for Mankato and surrounding areas

This is a wonderful children’s museum, especially for small kids. It stands out from other children’s museums because it is not overly loud. There are many play stations that allow children to use their imagination. It does have a large tree fort/climbing gym, but it has less of a focus on large motor playground type activities. Themes are well thought out and I was impressed by the thoughtful themes that tie in content about the local economy. Plenty of opportunities for kids to use their imagination. My 21 month old son had an absolute blast and didn’t want to leave after 2 hours or play.Overall environment is bright with a lot of natural light and the primarily single floor open concept design allows the museum to be accessible to people with limited mobility. Lighting was also not excessively bright or reflecting which is helpful for people with low vision or that struggle with glare. Environment was also comfortable for adults to be involved in play. Structures allowed adult size ppl to climb on them. There is a nice place in the front of the museum to sit at the table and have a snack. Parking was easy.Only environmental things that I didn’t see was a family bathroom or nursing lounge. I think a family bathroom should be a priority to increase accessibility for those who require assistance or more bathroom privacy, parents toileting multiple kids or older opposite gender kids, and those with unique gender identity needs. Maybe they have a family bathroom I did not see.

So much fun for the kids, loved it! They had so many different stations. A grocery store, cow station or farm station, a construction zone with a crane and a fun do it yourself building area. We made parachutes and put them on plastic toy army men so we could fly through the wind tunnel into the air, so much fun! There is also a stage for dressing up and play acting. The best part of the museum was the huge climbing tree with bridges, ropes and ladders. Would highly highly recommend for small kids.

Great place for the kiddos to learn and have fun! Snack bar has really good coffee for the parents too! They didnt get 5 stars because while I visited here a parent misplaced one of their children and couldnt find him for quite some time. The staff wasnt communicating with other staff that the child was missing! There was more parents including me that were looking. I ended up finding the child safe playing out of site. But it felt like an eternity that we couldnt find him. Idk maybe stamp everyones hand with the group they come in with and not let them leave unless everyones together. Just an idea because seeing the mothers face when she couldnt find her child was heartbreaking! Safety first!

This is just about the perfect location to take your kids and have them explore their imaginations AND burn off some energy. Activities for all ages, from toddler to elementary. They also have great programming during the week. The only challenge is it would be nice, especially in the winter, to consider one or two nights of evening programming/hours to better accommodate working parents, if possible.
