Great fun!! We were a group of young teenagers and they did well. Owners were accommodating and professional. Mask had to be worn and establishment provided gloves. Looking forward to returning soon.

Definitely very fun and felt safe while doing the game. Requires some math (adding, subtracting, multiplication and division) but mostly logic and riddle solving. Staff was super friendly and helpful even when we didnt escape. Will definitely do again (I recommend more than two people for best time management for solving the room)!

Great experience! I’ve done quite a few escape rooms at different companies and this was one of the top ones. The puzzles all actually made sense (even if they were difficult) where I feel at other rooms you can’t get it without extensive assistance with the hint. Challenging but very fun. Looking forward to trying their other rooms.

These Escape Rooms are NO JOKE! Hard but fun and interesting! We had the “lost Friday night” room and it has some very difficult puzzles but very interesting and very entertaining! We will be back to reclaim our pride!!!

By far the best escape room in Madison. I have completed two rooms so far and have been highly impressed with the set design/props and challenging game play. Rene and her team have been fantastic game masters . We will be returning soon to take a crack at the other rooms available.

This place was super fun to spend time at! The puzzles were definitely challenging, but do-able. I would definitely recommend this place if you and 4-10 friends are looking for something fun to do on the weekend or after work.

We had such a great time and the game was challenging! Family (ages 10 & 14) were all able to contribute to our solution. The host was super fun and friendly. Cant WAIT to go again.

The staff here was very helpful and prompt with responding to questions and recommendations of dining options nearby. The escape room puzzle was fun and entertaining. The only mishap we had with our puzzle is that one item opened with an incorrect code somehow which threw off our ability to complete the entire puzzle correctly. The staff person was very apologetic and assured us the item would be reset correctly for the next time around. We would recommend ‘Escape This’ to other groups.

I brought a group of 12 here. We initially planned to do the lost Friday night room, but the host here suggested we switch over to the Sherlocked room which was available. This was a great suggestion. We took almost all the allotted time to complete this challenge. It was well paced and well themed. Overall had a great experience, and everyone in the group was able to get involved. This was a moderately challenging room, so experience helps.

Alright, this was a lot of fun. Sherlock room so I cant speak to the other one but this was fairly tough. I think having done one we might be able to figure out the next one, but this was a good challenge.

We did the In Check room as a family of 4 for our daughters birthday. We had such a great time. We have done several clue rooms before and my wife even designs small clue rooms for local library programs. We found the room challenging and everyone in the family had a chance to contribute. The staff was friendly and even accomodated a blunder on my account. I accidentally booked the wrong date, but the room was available and they set it up for us with just a little delay. I took my gf here for Valentines Day and we did the Harry Potter themed room “Wizards Final Exam” because my gf LOVES Harry Potter. This escape room did not disappoint! We loved the puzzles and they were just the right level of difficult, leaving us with 30 seconds to spare before completing the challenge. We loved it! Definite recommend!Also, Jace was super helpful

Escaping this room was better than escaping my 30 year marriage.

I had a work-related private event at Escape this. We did their Alice in Wonderland themed room, and it was delightful. The staff was great about scheduling and billing. And they gave us good feedback on our gameplay afterward. Were planning on going back just for fun!

We had a great time in the Sherlocked challenge with a group of 8 with players from 11 to 50. Everybody got into it and had a great time. We look forward to playing again.

I have done 2 escape rooms here. The games have been a lot of fun both times.

The owner Renee was incredibly flexible with a last minute booking. Even though she had plans that evening, she made it work with less than a 24 hour notice. I thought it was a long shot! I came with a group of 7 and even though we did not make it out within the hour, the experience was worth it. We will likely stop by again once the Lost Friday Night room is available again.

Great experience! We were originally scheduled for the Sherlocked room because of our group size, but when a couple werent able to come last minute we ended up doing Lost Friday Night instead. We are so thankful that they talked us into it as we were all newbies and had never done an escape room before. We were celebrating a work anniversary, and 12 people from our office went together. For us it was a great size group, because we all work well together and communicate- but I think that if we didnt it would be too many people. We had a lot of fun and would recommend Escape This! and do it again. Thanks for the great time!

I had a great time here with Lost Friday Night. I was able to gather a group of friends that Ive never played escape rooms with and theyve had very minimum experiences with escape rooms. The puzzles in here arent terribly hard, although I do feel one of the puzzles could use a better feedback on whether or not its correct. The flow of the room was pretty decent, not too difficult that wed be stuck, and not too easy to finish too quickly, especially for a group that didnt know how to work with each other well.Unfortunately it is a little small so I did feel like my escaping addiction wasnt quite quenched.Id like to suggest a more user friendly booking website, allowing the user to remove an entry if one end up inputting double entry. I had to reload the page to clear my entry...

Tons of fun!! No pictures of the rooms are allowed but I can tell you they had lots of fun secrets. Our whole group had fun in the mystery of the forgotten pharaoh, well be going back soon!

We did the Sherlocked room with a group of 7 (and two strangers, who were great) for one of our birthdays. This was my first time in an escape room, and I had a blast. Lots of clever, interesting puzzles that built on each other. And when we asked for clues, they werent dead giveaways. The whole group had a good time and felt accomplished when we got out with 4 minutes to spare!

Great room, challenging but fun. Game master was tough but fair, we were successful...barely. Our room would have been pretty tight if we had a full 8, we had 5. We were greeted promptly and all the staff was very friendly.

What a phenomenal escape room experience! We did Sherlocked and it was very clever. The theme carried throughout all the puzzles and made it a lot of fun. Top notch quality and experience. I can’t wait to come back and try the others!

The escape room was so much fun. We tried one of the easy rooms because we went with a kid, but I would love to go back and try one of their harder rooms. The puzzles were a good mix that really made us work together. A lot of fun. Would recommend.

We went for my daughters 13th birthday with a couple of her friends, my husband and 11 year old son (6 total).Everyone there was really nice when we showed up and very helpful since we had never done it before.Did the Sherlock room... didnt solve but got pretty darn close! It was super fun and would love to go there again! Everyone had a blast and the girls and a group of friends are making plans to come back to do the Pharaoh room.The gamemaster was great and really helpful, but not to helpful! It was really nice how she encouraged us and would hint when we asked but didnt just give us the answer.I would really recommend to look at the pictures of building and parking if you have never been there before. If wouldnt have I would have had a hard time finding it, but that might just be me... no sense of direction!

Such a great experience. The decorations in the room was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the employee and owner were very nice. It was difficult, but the organizer can help you through with 5 hints. Those 5 hints really come in handy when you seem to be at a dead end. Cant say enough great things about Escape This.

We had a leadership teambuilding event at Escape This and it was a fun way to engage with one another outside of a business meeting. The room was challenging and unique and the owners were very cordial and accommodating. Everyone enjoyed the event at Escape this and I would recommend to other work teams.

Fun place to challenge yourself with various puzzles. Not a lot of parking at the location but theres a public parking ramp nearby. Friendly staff.

The BEST escape room experience in Madison, no question.Clues were intuitive but tricky and a perfect mix of logic, number, and object manipulation type puzzles. We were never totally lost about what to do next and never felt cheated by gimmicky or cheap clues. When we solved something it came with a big sense of accomplishment (and a few surprises!) which really speaks volumes to how cleverly the puzzles were designed.There was plenty to do in the room so our group of 7 was continuously kept busy, and the way Renee our game master interacted with us was really well-done. She went out of her way to ensure we had a great time!

Fun way to spend an hour with friends.

Wonderful experience planning a party for 22 people! Everyone enjoyed it, from ages 20-something to 80-something. Its hard to please that many people but Escape This did it! Renee and her staff were fantastic, I heard a lot of people saying they want to go back again. The room that I was in was decorated COMPLETELY to really submerge you in the theme (Forgotten Pharoh).

My group did the Pharoh room and I really enjoyed it. It struck the right balance between being challenging but not impossible. It took us almost the entire hour to finish.

I decided to try out Escape This for my birthday and was very happy with the decision! We did the Sherlocked room and the puzzles were challenging, yet not unsolvable. The room was very clean and the music/decor perfectly reflected what youd expect for a room about Sherlock Holmes and his adventures! Before we entered, a brief orientation about how the room works and what not to do was very helpful for our attempt to finish the room. Unfortunately, we didnt finish it -- we came 2-3 puzzles short! But, the experience was incredible, and we are definitely coming back for the other rooms and to experience the updated rooms in the future!We met (either the only or one of the) people who make the experiences happen by devising the incredible puzzles that you have to work through and he was definitely very fun to speak with for a short while after the room ended. I cannot wait to come back!

My group had such a great time at Escape This! My twin and I held a private party for our birthday and Renee was very friendly and helpful when trying to organize the game. Our game was difficult but an excellent challenge. It was well thought out and you could tell a lot of time and effort was put into every single detail to make the experience unique. Everyone in our group had a great time and really enjoyed the experience. I want to try another game so I highly recommend going to Escape This!

Escape This was a wonderful group activity. We had a group of 8 and together we did two escape rooms. They were very different from one another and each one provided fun challenges that we overcame by working together. I could see this being a great team building exercise.The staff was courteous and engaged. They were interested in what you found hard and what you simple. They wanted to make these games fun and engaging for everyone. I felt as if they listened to us and also didnt judge us when we failed (though we did manage to escape both rooms in time!).

My friends and I had a good time at Escape This. The rooms and puzzles within were very thought out, challenging, and fun. Unfortunately, our experience was dampened a bit by the person running our escape room. We arrived 5 minutes early for our scheduled start time and were scolded for being late. On multiple occasions remarks were made about rushing through since we were late. This made for an uncomfortable experience with the facilitator for the remainder of the time. It was an unfortunate experience considering the money that we paid.

Loved it! I contacted Renee, who owns Escape This! with her husband, about setting up a reservation for a large group of friends celebrating April birthdays. She was extremely accommodating. She explained that we should not try to fit 14 people in at once but instead do two groups, which turned out much better and added some friendly competition. She set up our own Escape This! link so that everyone in our group to buy their tickets separately, which was so convenient.Our groups played Lost Friday Night and it was a blast! None of us had done an escape room before and didnt know what to expect at first. But everyone thought it was so much fun, and all said we would definitely go back to Escape This! We all spent the rest of the night analyzing our performances, comparing team strategies, and overall saying how great of a time we had.All in all, I would recommend Escape This! to anyone looking to try escape rooms in Madison. So much fun. We went here for a party with 11 people and played the Lost Friday Night room and then Sherlocked. The two hours flew by, and everybody commented on how much fun it was. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Id love to come back again and try the other rooms.

So, room we did and the decor, set and even the lobby were all fantastic. We were set up as part of a group and the puzzle master/host should have mentioned that or told us to introduce ourselves while we sat and waited. Not a big deal, we are capable of doing that ourselves. The room itself was pretty small and difficult to engage all 8 of us at the same time (as well as the other group of 4 not being very social/helpful/fun). I think the room we did (Alice in Wonderland theme) should be limited to 6, and I wish there was an option to have a private room (yes, I know I could pay for the other 3 spots, but its already an expensive hour).

Really friendly staff and the Forgotten Pharaoh game had a perfect balance of difficulty and fun. Highly recommend and cant wait to try the other games.

I did the Lost Pharaoh room with three friends. It was a great challenge, really fun!The staff is super friendly and the facilities are nice. They ask you to place your phones etc into a nice little basket so they dont distract you, but then the basket stays in the room with you so you dont have to worry about them not being secure either.Highly recommend!

We had so much fun! Ive always wanted to try an escape room and Im so glad we chose this one. The owner was super friendly and made it such a great experience! He helped us reflect on the whole experience. Overall I thought the puzzles were the perfect difficulty and the special effects in the room were right on! I would recommend going with a group of 4-6 because having too many people in the room would be a lot harder and a little less enjoyment. We had 5 people and it was perfect :)

I went here with my lady and her friends. This was my first escape room experience; they had all done one or more before. The puzzles were fun and the locks entertaining to open. Our group solved the room with 15 minutes to spare. Afterwards, one of the hosts reviewed our experience, calling out individuals for laughs or puzzle-solving recognition. I had a great time overall. I would recommend Lost Friday Night for your first time.

4 college roommates and their spouses got together for the weekend and had a blast doing the Friday Night room. The hour flew by with everyone enjoying the experience.

My group had a blast - we loved every minute! The time just FLEW by! The game we played was a great challenge - just the right level of difficulty. It was all very well planned and the room was very attractive. We will be back, for sure!

We visited Escape This and attempted to escape The Lost Friday room. Even though we were unsuccessful, we had a blast! Renee was awesome! Amazing experience! I went with a group of 5 (6 all together) and we all had a good time. We did the sherlocked room because we wanted a challenge and we were so close to escaping but lost at one final puzzle. The codes and puzzles required some thought and a lot of time and effort went into each one. Thank you for the awesome time!

This was my second escape room experience. Myself and three friends went together for the Pharaohs curse scenario. There was a good variety of puzzles, and the game master gave appropriate hints that didnt give too much away when we asked. Also, we won!

Our first escape adventure and wed definitely do it again. It was nice that it was just our family of 7 and no one else was added to our group. We didnt quite get out but came close. When time expired, it was nice that our game master explained some things and answered questions.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience here. Over the course of three days we completed all four of their rooms. Each was unique and incredibly well done. Weve done over 80 escape rooms (mostly in nyc) and this company was easily in our top ten. Its obvious a lot of thought and care goes into the maintenance of their rooms. We appreciated their passion for this business and dedication to customer service. We cant wait to go back when theyve updated or created a new room!

We were lucky enough to try both rooms at Escape this! It is a really fun night for families, friends or a group of teens. The rooms are great! Be prepared to put your thinking caps on. We even had a Doctor with us for the Lost Friday Night and couldnt get out! Well he was just a dentist! Lol. Lost Friday night is a room based on the concept of the Hangover movie and they are really creative with their clues. You wont be disappointed!The Black and White room is really good too. You are in a room decorated with all Black and White and you walk in and where do you start! Cant give too much away but this room is based on The Alice in Wonderland movie. Renee and Chris are so friendly and the facility is decorated nicely! Thank you Escape This for a great couple nights!

Great room with clever puzzles. Even though we didnt finish (on last puzzle) we had so much fun that we would come again!

The game was fun. 8 people total (4 strangers, 4 in our group). Everyone got along well, and the game master did a good job on the balance between letting us struggle and giving us a nudge when we were stuck.The puzzles were varied & interesting to solve. A couple were really hard.One was mediocre due to poorly drawn map that couldnt be read clearly, but the other dozen puzzles were fun.We would go back for another game.

We had a group of 6 for the Sherlock Holmes room. It was hard but VERY fun. We were not able to solve our challenge but had fun trying.

Took the family on a Friday night than walked down to the square for ice cream. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible. We simply ran out of time. Being a competitive group everyone wants to go back and try our hand again. The staff was very helpful in setting our expectations and in game providing your five free hints.

Enjoyable escape room with a good number of puzzles for a group.

This was my fifth escape room, and it was particularly difficult. My family of six visited their Egyptian themed room and it seemed that many of the puzzles were arbitrary at best. If youre one who flies through most escape rooms, perhaps this is the challenge youre looking for.

This is a great room escape venue! The room which our group of 7 attempted was full of surprises and challenging puzzles. We didnt end up solving it in time, but we had so much fun regardless. I particularly enjoyed how engaging and attentive the operators of the venue are. They definitely wanted us to succeed and noticed small details about our group which they recounted to us afterwards - I thought that was pretty amusing. I had a lot of fun and definitely plan on revisiting. Thanks Chris, Renee, and the girl who just graduated in BioE!

My group of 6 had a blast. Most of us had done at least 1 room before. The puzzles were linear, but challenging and the theme really added a lot to the experience. The owners were awesome and very friendly. We would definitely return for a different room as they add them.

It was a lot of fun, however with 7 of us in our party it was over $200 for the experience. There should have been some kind of group discount. None of us felt it was worth that kind of money and, as a large group, we will never be back. We have since heard of other Escape type rooms that have a cap on the fees for a group - i.e. $30 per person, max of $150 for a group. Next time we will look for that type of deal elsewhere.

Pretty fun. Moreso than I expected. The puzzles were pretty challenging and we escaped only with about 2 minutes to go. We did the Sherlock room, and I would definitely recommend it to people who are interested.
