This experience was awesome. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the room we went to was amazing. Loved it, 100%. Thank you for making my birthday great yall.
So much fun and the rooms are so immersive ! The staff is very nice and helped make our experience great ! We ended up doing back to back escape rooms in one day and I bought tickets to come back and try another room sometime because now I want to try them all!!
From the initial entrance of trying to find your way in, to finally getting the serum in 8min to spare. Bunker 57 was a great way to spend our evening for my daughters birthday! Start to finish it was a rush of survival! Never done anything like this before and had an amazing night! So much fun we already bought tickets for our next adventure!
Right away, we had a malfunction in our room (our door got physically stuck), so the game master gave us permission to move onto the next step (even though we solved the clue). It definitely killed the mood. There are NOT enough tasks for a group of 8 to do at the same time. There was AT LEAST 2 of us standing to the side at any given time doing absolutely nothing. The room we were in was also unnecessarily dark. So much so, that we missed part of the game play and the game master chimed in because we couldnt see the item in question. While it killed a good hour of time, it was not worth $30. I was not entertained. I would not visit again. The group sizes need to shrink or they need to add more components/steps to the escaping prices, even if theyre not critical to the actual escape and are more side quests - just something to keep everyone busy. Be aware, our room was also quite chilly.
Been here a few times on outings or dates. Can’t say a single bad thing about this place. It’s super fun! Can’t wait to go back when it’s safe again!
Great place for an escape room!!! Never been to such an escape room!! Loved it️
Up to date rooms with great props. Many rooms to choose from.
By far the most family fun weve experienced in Wisconsin. Extremely cool set up. The games begin, what I felt like at the parking lot trying to get in, then the waiting room takes it up another level. Then once the staff goes over the rules youre transported thru a time portal then led to one of the many amazing rooms. We did the one with the airplane cabin and had a blasts. Phenomenal experience, amazing casts my only regret is that we cant rate them an extra two stars for ambiance and professionalism. Great experience highly recommend for a great time. Will be back soon!
Overall, Escape in Time heavily invests in aesthetics and lacks in content. The aesthetics are very impressive, the only upside to this location. However, our group of four purposely chose their most-difficult room, Cyrosleep. The room lacked sufficient puzzles to keep everyone moving and often had multiple people standing around waiting till one person was able to plug in a code. The puzzles were very linear and not challenging. We escaped with 19 minutes left and were disappointed. We were expecting atleast another room to move into. The designs and displays were intriguing but we left feeling like we completed half a room. There was no rush or adrenaline or sense of emergency. Not going to return to this escape room.
This place was a blast! Walking in is a little dazing because you immediately are solving a room. But it just puts you in the right mind set for your own room. I did the Bunker 57 and it was just awesome. Not too easy to solve but not too hard to solve either. Had 2 minutes remaining out of 60 minutes. We had a 10 person group and the rooms fit most of us comfortably, a bit tight in some areas. Escape in Time has a great group price for large groups that are definitely worth taking advantage of!Definitely going back to do another room sometime!
It was amazing! I have a relative that works there and so we went for my birthday and it was amazing! on cryosleep the last part was either broken or super tricky to get perfect, but theyre looking into it and it was amazing other than that. definitely 10/10 would try again.
Staff spends more time on their initial appearance and lobby than making sure the room is set up just right - which is key to getting out in time. After 45 minutes the clue giver over the intercom realized we werent given all the puzzle pieces and straight up gave us the final riddle. I would give them a B+ overall. (Escape Wisconsin in Appleton has been my favorite so far.)
Love both times i went. I like how you have to figure out how to get into the lobby room. Also their rooms are well made. Good for almost all ages. I will definatly be heading back again with a group. Win or lose the experience is always fun.
I went with a couple of friends and we could not stop talking about how much fun it was even hours after we left. The workers there are so super friendly and patient. They are the definition of amazing customer service. The rooms are unbelievable on how amazing they are set up. Every penny spent is worth the experience. Definitely recommend Eat or Be Eaten if you’re a horror junkie! Amazing! Will 100% be back soon.
This is the best place to go in madison if you’re looking for a crazy fun experience. the decor is insanely good. staff are amazing. the rooms are so good. i recommend this place to everyone i know whenever they want something to do.
Escaped Cryosleep with seconds to spare! Such a fun experience from beginning to end. A great activity for when you’re looking for something new to do.
Great time! The room was a blast, and I loved how emersed into the story I felt. The room(s) where convincing. Other escape rooms have not been done as well, still hints of being in a regular room. But not here. I would deffinatly reccomend!!!
Wow was this a great afternoon! Interesting and wonderful for the imagination. My 80-yr old mother even enjoyed it in the horror-themed Eat or Be Eaten room - we solved it with 27 seconds remaining. We will be back.
They are generous with the clues (you get 3), and they also give you technical advice! The staff are very friendly. The tasks, however, are linear. We were with a group of 8, and there is not enough for everyone to do. So a lot of people stand in the background.
Six adult novices successfully solved the Alien Autopsy Escape Room with minutes to spare! Not at all what we expected, even after reading Helpful Hints online. It was fun and a great activity for a group of friends who have known each other for 30+ years. Beware: some activities require at least 1 person in the group to squeeze through a small place, climb a ladder and crawl a plank. Also, dimly lit for older eyes leading to some frustrations. We would all do it again.
I love its more themed than most places. Not just puzzles and riddles
I was very excited to go here. I was even more excited when I showed up. It has the most elaborate lobbies of all the escape rooms I have been to. We did the pirate themed room. Medium difficulty. And we escaped. When we got out I thought that was it. The clues needed to get through the room were pretty much all find this or that type clues. There were almost no puzzle or figure out this riddle type clues. It took a while to get out because things were hard to find but that is not as fun as some of the rooms I have done that require a little bit of brain power.
The rooms are very creative and the staff keep up with the theme! I love the added touch of having to find your way through the first room to get to the check in desk! I have gone twice and plan to go again. If you go and love it, I recommended getting the deal at the end where tickets are discounted for future rooms.
The second you open the door to this place, before even checking in at the front desk, you are in an immerse, fantastical, adventure. Every area is well themed and decorated, with very little details missed. The employees are always in character and create a positive, safe, and fun experience. The puzzles are just the right level of challenge, making you have to really explore your environment. The person who gives you hints and assistants is always in character and is fairly forgiving in helping you while also making you have to put the pieces together on your own. Nothing is handed to you but you ate never lead astray. I was so impressed (and spooked) the whole time, having such a fun and immersive experience. I will most definitely be back with my friends and family. Best escape room in Madison!
Attention to detail top notch and alternate designs (yeah I went to the same room twice with another group).
Did one of the various escape rooms with 13 year old daughter and 2 of her friends. I only went because an adult was required, but in the end I am glad that I did. We all had a lot of fun.
So this place is an experience. Very little can be said without spoiling anything. But I fully recommend bringing a small group of friends here, or just going by yourself. Its 30 per experience, but O boy is it worth it. Not really allowed to take photos, but its a sight to behold.A must try, and potentially the best escape room place around Madison
Our group had so much fun here. The atmosphere is amazing! The moment you walk in the door you are transported to another world. Top tier design on the rooms. My only complaint is the room we chose was a little cramped for the 12 people we came with. It could be just the one we ended up doing was like this, but the puzzles were very interesting and challenging, but not too difficult that they were impossible without hints from the overlords.
An awesome escape room experience. Everything made sense, and it is very fun. Do try this place out.
Best escape room Ive ever done. My boys and I loved it.
This was an awesome experience! The rooms are great and the staff are really into character! We loved it so much we did 4 rooms! Highly highly recommend!
This place is a blast to go to. If you want to be flashed back to another era this is the place to go. I was in the room eat or be eaten. It is one of their harder rooms, but still fun! Dont forget to ask about the rates for after your done with your room. Unfortunately they dont allow photos.
The moment we walked into Escape In Times entryway, we knew it was going to be legit! Our group rented the entire room for the Alien Autopsy. Although it says you can have up to 12 people, I would not recommend more than 6 because it was pretty tight. We had done other escape rooms before but this one was challenging for many different reasons (dim atmosphere, intermittent lighting, and some tight spaces). We finished our room with only a minute to spare! You could tell the employees enjoyed their jobs, which I loved! We will most definitely be going back in the future!
This place is awesome! Very clean and all the employees are super nice! We did the Cryochamber room. Were going back in August to celebrate a birthday!
Did the Pirate room with 4 people and we had a great time trying to figure it all out. I think 8 would have been crowded, but it was perfect for 4. The props were great and the clues were a real challenge. The staff also got into their roles so it helped make for an extra immersive experience. We all agreed we’d do another one.
I visited Escape in Time as part of a department team-building event. We were able to escape the Water Landing room with seconds to spare and made lots of memories in the process! There were a couple of surprise elements, but nothing scary or creepy. The staff member assisting us was very friendly and helpful. She gave us hints on how to solve the puzzle when we asked. I would definitely participate in another escape room here.
Pretty fun experience, with room for improvement. I ran cryosleep with 4 other people, and the room would be cramped at max capacity. Id say it was a little sparse with 5 people - all the puzzles are concentrated in one location that can fit 2-3 comfortably. The production value was astounding, and made up for my minor gripes and quibbles. I plan on returning.
First time at an escape room and wasnt sure what to expect. Very fun from the very beginning. We needed a little guidance to finish but not too much. The hints were well thought out to not give too much away.
This place is terrific! We visit escape rooms around the country and this one is top of the line. Right away the entry and lobby tell you that a lot of thought and love was put into this, and gives it a very professional feel. We were so pleased with the first room that we booked all the rest that weekend. The rooms themselves are well thought out, and have a few features that are rare in escape rooms, but were an absolute delight to discover. Anyone visiting Madison should make time for this experience!
My boyfriend and I who are in our early 20’s have completed 3 of the 5 rooms, and we loved them all! The whole theme of the facility is fun and gets you in the mood to escape. Staff is super friendly. The rooms that we completed (cryosleep, eat or be eaten, captains cove) were definitely a little easier than escape rooms at different facilities, but if you don’t use any hints they become challenging. Would recommend to first timers or experienced escapers!
Really great experience! We had six friends in the Eat or get eaten room. It was great. We didnt escape and do wish the actual last step was a little better but the experience overall was very fun
Teen group had great time. Place for parents to wait is nice.
Super awesome rooms! Honestly quite the challenge.
Did Cryosleep, with my work team. Had an absolute blast! Were definitely going back again!
Awesome experience. We went as a team building exercise for work. The detail that is included in the room was spectacular. Wish it lasted a bit longer because of how fun it was.
Ive been to a few escape rooms in the area and this one has been the best so far. The theming is elaborate and very interesting, even the staff dress up in cool, futuristic looking costumes. Ive only done one room here so far, but it was awesome. I highly recommend this one if youre looking for a great escape room experience.
Very well planned escape rooms with different themes and immersing the visitor into the experience right from arrival. Ive done other escape rooms and the only reason I didnt give them the 5th star is that here the clues are mostly hidden instead of drawn from deduction. Id like to see more connection of clues that combined will reveal bigger clues. Dont get me wrong, the experience here is worth every penny and the staff plays well into the themes.
Our group of 7 really enjoyed this escape room. The room was set up with many details and made for a more believable experience than what I hear about other escape rooms. I had completed one escape room prior to this one and was so underwhelmed that I wasnt sure I wanted to do another. Well, Im glad I gave it another try! This one was very fun for all of us.
Cryosphere - 8 people was too many. Was hard to contribute, some of the tasks require getting into small areas which limited it to one person. Might have been more fun if we had our own group of 8. Id try it again.
Brought my Girl Scouts here for a team building exercise. They enjoyed it. It was a bit pricey but we snagged a Groupon.
We did the cryo-sleep escape room here. The initial set up in the room was great and the props were all wonderful. However compared to other escape rooms this one was very linear. We needed to solve puzzle A to get to puzzle B and so on. With 8 of us in the room there were 4 of us who had to beg and plead to get our hands on clues. Would have been a better room for 4 people, not 8.
Lots of fun every time we go.
Employees are incredibly friendly and helpful and the layout of the building is super crazy fun!
Overall a pretty disappointing experience. The employees were friendly, but the Eat or be Eaten room had a number of problems. (1.) First, it was simply too small. (2.) Second, a majority of the “puzzles” were counterintuitive and/or unsatisfying. Throughout the experience, my group constantly felt like we weren’t making any significant progress. There was almost ZERO logic or progression. Suddenly the room ended and my group was left scratching our heads with 15 minutes to spare. We kept waiting for something “cool” to happen that never did. (3.)Third, $30 a person is insane for the quality of our 45 minute experience. In summary, go to a different escape room in Madison unless you like opening drawers to find keys to open more drawers with more keys inside of them.
Our group had a blast...super clean and fun place
It was a fantastic experience, Id choose this over a movie any day. Get a good group of friends together and try it out!
Nice place for doing a group activity.
I did the Cryosleep room for a friends birthday, it was a great time and the puzzles were all very interesting
Such a great time if your debating on whether its worth it dont! Well worth it!! Tried multiple rooms and impressed by all of them
This place was AWESOME. I recomend going here. I did the water landing. It was amazing.
Great production value and fun adventures!
Super fun! Staff is very engaging and rooms are fun!
I had my first escape room experience here with my daughter yesterday. We did the room Cryosleep. It was a real challenge. It was a nice bonding experience and fun working together and figuring out each step of the game. Extremely immersive experience from the time you enter the front door. Staff was great and theatrical. I will definitely be back to try other rooms! If you are looking for something fun and new to do with the family, I highly recommend you check out this place.
We went here for my bachelor party and it was a lot of fun. Ive done a bunch of different escape rooms, so Im going to compare a few things relative to others Ive done.-The ambiance/detail/decoration, etc. was top notch. Lots of props and decorations, and they were realistic looking. The rooms also had well thought out and detailed scenarios. You wouldnt think this stuff matters that much, but it is really important for the immersion factor.-The puzzles were about the right level of difficulty. Maybe slightly on the too easy side. We got through the room with 17 minutes left, but we had 8 people and used all 3 clues. We maybe couldve challenged ourselves a little more.-The puzzle quality was about average. Nothing too elegant and clever, but nothing boring and lame either. In the end, the immersion factor is what I find most important. So while there is room for improvement, I would still recommend going here.
Absolutely incredible, even checking into the room was fun. The staff are super into their roles and the Alien Autopsy room was tough but fair.
Update: tried our second room here and it was amazing. This is the 4th escape room we have done and none come close. The customer service is also fantastic. Dont try another escape room, try escape in time!So me and my wife had a mixed time here. We were very impressed by everything including the waiting room. However we got stuck with a group of 7 teenage girls so we couldnt really fully enjoy the actual escape room experience. Obviously that is not the fault of the escape room but it would have been nice to know/push our appointment to another time. Look forward to trying another room here in the future
We escaped! The room was a little smaller then other escape rooms I have been to. However, their rooms are very well themed. Our group was placed with another group and made just to many people in the room where you had plenty of time just standing around. If they had one group per room, they would be 5 stars.
Fun place to have a rocking birthday party.
We enjoyed our time doing the Captains Cove. There was a lot of wandering around trying to figure things out, but overall, I had a great time. The room decor and floors were the best parts. I even booked a room for my girls 11th birthday. Hope to see some of the new room ideas before I decide when and which room!
Props/rooms are really well done. Puzzles are a good difficulty. Great atmosphere and very friendly employees.
Great for a night out as a group! Every room weve visited has been challenging but still a lot of fun.
There are better escape rooms, but this one is ok
Very well done, realistic decor and challenging puzzles... good people and would recommend for a fun outing
I was absolutely blown away by the shear amount of detail put into these escape rooms. The atmosphere of the place, from start to finish, was interactive and totally engrossing. I have been through various other escape rooms throughout Wisconsin, and I assumed that my experience would be essentially the same this time as well - I could not have been more wrong! Escape in Time offers a level of imagination and creativity that far surpasses anything I was expecting. My group and I had such a blast! I cant wait to go back in the very near future!!
Didnt know what to expect going in to this. Brought a group of 12-year olds down as part of a birthday party and everyone had a GREAT time! The kids were raving about the experience for the rest of the night and bugging their own parents about booking their own party time doing another escape room. The room was well conceived, the clues were fun and just accessible enough to keep everyone engaged without being frustrated. The staff was helpful and playfully in-character for the whole experience. Would definitely recommend this experience to others.
Lots of fun! Had a group of 9 adult friends. Smaller group might be more ideal (maybe 6) depending on the various skill of the players.
I went with a group of 5. We all had a blast. From the moment you enter, you know it is going to be a good time. try it and you will know what Im talking about. I have a child thats 10 so we picked the water landing. The attention to details was outstanding! I must say that without the child, Im not sure we would have made it out in time. Cant wait for the next child friendly room to be ready!
Really superb. Excellent customer service, tricky puzzles and an incredibly immersive atmosphere. This is the third escape room I have been to, and the level of quality here really stood out.
Amazing care, great escape room! They do need one more family escape room in my opinion however.
Had a wonderful time with family finding treasure!!
Great staff! Went there with my girlfriend, and it was a lot of fun! They were super helpful and made us feel safe even though we were in the scary room!
This place is so amazing and I am overjoyed to hear they are expanding. My group and I had so much fun there we bought another set of tickets as we left.Big warning: not the place for those with disabilities physical or mental. Especially PTSD
Awesome time today. Room was very detailed. Staff was awesome!?
Definitely the best designed escape room experience we have had. Even the entrance to the check-in area is a puzzle!
Had a great time. The room we did was pretty difficult to escape. We did eat or be eaten.
Great time. Both rooms that we have done have been very challenging and the overall experience has been amazing.
Escape in Time was GREAT! It was my the first time my friends and I had tried an escape room and it was so fun and the staff were so friendly. We will definitely be going back, and I highly recommend this place to people of all ages!!
We had a great time. The staff is super helpful., friendly, entertaining. Too bad it is so pricey.
First time ever going to an escape room and found it to be an excellent experience. Staff was friendly and personable. The design and detail of the rooms was phenomenal and did a great job putting together an excellent experience all around. Will be back in the near future to try other rooms. Highly recommend
Weve been to many escape rooms, and weve even set records in a couple of them. Ive seen high tech rooms and low tech rooms and honestly this was in between. Their special effects were neat, and their game masters really sold their performance. If youre here for a fun show this is a good place to go, however, if youre like me you prefer the puzzles. So here I will list my biggest complaints.1. The puzzles were very linear. You did A which led to B which led to C. There were no side puzzles to work on, no red herrings for fun. Just one to the next, which only a couple of people could work on at one time, leaving the rest of your group feeling useless. Which leads to point number two...2. Their group numbers were way too high for how linear the puzzles are. Everyone in our group was experienced at escape rooms, yet only a couple of us were engaged in the puzzles at any given time. Ideally the room we were in would be llayep by no more than four people, half of the recommended number of participants.3. Technical errors. We experienced a technical error during our play through which we spent several precious minutes on trying to fix and then we were almost reluctantly given the work around to fix the puzzle. I get it, the room is brand new and Ive played new games before and helped test ones, but from what I could tell they knew about this error and simply decided not to fix it before releasing this game to the public, which seems unprofessional to me.4. The price. Not really a complaint, more of just an observation, this room is more expensive than most rooms Ive seen. For the price I had high hopes that this room would at least be fun for an hour, instead I found myself wishing I had just stayed home and saved the money for something better and this is the first time Ive ever experienced that with an escape room.Im not saying it was an awful experience, just that there was an opportunity to do a lot better and instead there was too much of a focus on special effects and less on actually creating fun and engaging puzzles. We made it out of the room in time but the feeling of accomplishment wasnt there and it just felt bland instead. I dont intend to return to these rooms and I hope my review helps people consider what kindnof escape room they want to do. Again, this one had neat effects and a cool story, but their puzzles left a lot to be desired.
I was extremely disappointed with the Captains Cove room. All the puzzles and clues were very unintuitive. When we managed to solve them, I thought wait, THATS what youre supposed to do with this??? without any feeling of satisfaction or accomplishment. Because of this utter lack of direction, we even solved one puzzle on accident by doing random things with an object we found, which really shouldnt be a feature in any escape room. Also, most solutions required you to do something with an object, meaning one person in your group ran around with said object and tried to find where it goes or what it does while everyone else mostly stood around doing nothing. It was all very uncooperative. Another example of poor design is that we had solved a particular puzzle and tried the correct solution, but it had to be executed very perfectly/precisely and so we wasted even more time because we thought we were missing something or doing it wrong.I will say that the atmosphere was top notch and the room was very well decorated. However... most everything that isnt part of a puzzle is literally glued down so that really broke the immersion. Another questionable feature of the rooms atmosphere is that the lighting was extremely sparse and the room was very dark. We wasted a lot of time on something because none of us actually saw the clue that was in a rather obvious location. Im not writing this review as a sore loser either as we eventually solved the puzzle, but even so I still felt cheated.
These guys are the real deal! My wife and I had an absolute blast last Saturday and were definitely coming back to do the other room. The atmosphere is incredibly detailed and we were immediately sucked into our scenario. Hollywood quality props and effects. Cant wait for the other rooms to be completed!
We had so much fun at this escape room. Weve been to a lot of these, but this one stood out for its great art design. So many escape rooms have the the theme: you are in a light commercial strip mall, now escape! This one did a great job of creating a sense of atmosphere and narrative.
It was a super fun experience for everyone and the hosts were in character so it made it even funner.
