Our experience was good. We enjoyed a piano string quartet as our first small group outing since quarantine. Staff were especially kind and thorough with their work keeping everyone healthy. Everyones temp was scanned as we entered, hand sanitizers available in multiple locations, masks were worn, distance was kept; we felt safe. Bathrooms were clean and recently remodeled.

We saw the Nutcracker in this theater last weekend and had a heavenly time. We actually booked tickets in September for a Saturday in December. But I completely forgot to go!! I was devastated. The next morning, I raced up to the box office. The only tickets left were third floor box seats. We were told that they weren’t wonderful seats, but we took them anyway. It’s true, they weren’t great, but my kids loved them. At intermission, we spotted some front row seats which also weren’t great, but were better for our backs.Our kids LOVED the show. We have since been entertained with toddler Nutcracker performances. I appreciated how friendly the box office workers and ushers were. There’s no mistaking how beautiful this theater is. It’s clean and well kept and has been preserved beautifully.Thank you!

Surprisingly very nice venue and the prices offer a lot of bang for your buck. The history of the Grand Opera House attracts some great talent. Got a change to see Black Violin in some amazing seats for a bit over $50. The other seats were just over $30. You dont get much say in the specific seats so much as the section but I think it keeps things fair. The fact that the venue is not enormous also means you feel that much closer to the performers. Keep in mind that photography depends on the performers and may be allowed or strictly forbidden. Overall great venue with great prices.

Weve seen several shows at this venue. Whether comedies, movies on the screen or live concerts, its always been a great time. The recent renovations have made it even better and more accessible. Happy to have such a historic venue to attract new things and people to Macon.

Saw RHPS...it was great!

My first time ever at the Grand Opera House. My wife and I saw The Nutcracker. The show was excellent and the building is nicely maintained. If you are tall, the best seat in the house is the back row of the balcony. Since the theater is small, its not too far back and it has extra leg room if you need it. I know I did.

We been to this building when I was in 5th Grade. My 5th Grade class going out on a Field trip. And, It was so awesome.

The Grand is my second home. It embodies your senses with pleasurable moments of joy and fascination for THE ARTS.The dreams become reality on such a magnificent stage. GRAND OPERA HOUSE inspires you from head to toe. The experience is an explosion in your mouth always wonderful! I love the history and restoring of it. The staff is amazing and attentive to your wants, desires, and needs. Keep up good work! 5 stars and always will return!

It is absolutely beautiful inside. I feel like Im stepping back in time and I get to get dressed up for a spectacular event. The Film Festival held there was just awesome. I really hope that it continues to exist here in Macon for many years to come.

Went to a concert to see ABB( Allmand Betts Band). Seats were comfy. great knee room. Clean location. Workers were attentive. Good acoustics. A great view from all seats. As the floor gently slopes. If you are in Macon, or if you want to see a show here... go. We drove about 70 miles..... we would do it again !!!! Enjoy life !!

Really cool place I enjoyed the show that we watch there I would recommend it if youre double dating or wanting to just take your girl out for an evening and see a show!

I love going to the Grand. Brings back memories. We went to see the Nutcracker every year as children.

I love the grand . Don’t forget to bring your souvenir cup so you can bring your drink into theater. My favorite shows are Black Jacket Symphony. There really isn’t a bad seat in the house.

Great historic theater in downtown Macon a true landmark!

It was great! Im probably a little bit old for Rocky Horror but, I really did enjoy the experience! Its gratifying to see another generation enjoying themselves like we did!

First time visiting the opera house. So beautiful! Staff was so friendly and accommodating. This venue reminds me of the Metropolitan Opera House in NYC! All seats are good and great acoustics! Cant wait to visit again!

We sat in the balcony section to see john Berry and I almost melted from the heat! It was SO uncomfortable. Seats were great and show was awesome but the heat was almost unbearable.

One of the most historic gems of our city and a place I call my second home! Ive worked many shows at this theatre and recommend it as a MUST SEE if you are in the Middle GA area visiting. You will not be disappointed! The venue is beautiful and has a rich history behind its doors. Cine and be apart of the Grand family!

This place is really awesome. The people take real good care of us. The show was great and nothing was left out of place.

Cirque Holidaze was tremendous fun; theatre was lovely, staff was very courteous and solicitous of a member of our party who uses a cane..many shows, plays, and movies are available - support historic Macon, and have fun doing it!

I recently attended an event last Saturday. The event was fine. My issue is with the employees of the The Grand Opera House. My wife lost here ID there. She called several times to inquire if anyone found it. She was told no one found an ID and a thorough cleaning was done. She gave them the seat location, have no idea if anyone brother to actually look. They did respond with a thorough cleaning was done. My wife went there after work and was told again; no ID found, thorough cleaning was done. She ask if she can go check, they let her check and she found her ID. under the seat, not so hidden that it would be missed. So much for the thorough cleaning. Also, would it been so hard for an employee to go simply check for my wife when she inquired. SMH

I reall love how they enforce the no video or pictures rules!!! Theres nothing more aggravating while trying to watch a live show and somebody pops up with a bright screen trying to take pics or video!! Bravo, follks!!! I watched the ushers take down a couple of the extremely rude people!!

We went here for a live comedy show this weekend. Entrance was easy and quick with the phone scan tickets. Staff was helpful and polite. No issues personally! I will go back in the future.

Took my daughter to see the NUTCRACKER . WE LOVE THE HISTORY of the building.

Came here for the hidden truths play and was happy to see the seating was comfortable and spacious. I also appreciate the staff directions to get in and out with little traffic jams. Will come again

What a gorgeous venue! The acoustics are great and there isnt a bad seat in the house. With only 1,030 person occupancy youre sure to have a fantastic night! One thing to note, their beverage policy is a little goofy. You are required to purchase a plastic insulated tumbler which will allow you to bring a drink into the auditorium. The good news is that youre allowed to take you $10 tumbler out to your car and can refill at your own expense.I live just north of Atlanta and cannot wait to see another show at this great facility!

Went to see John Berry last night, all I can say is awesome!!!

We saw Pete the cat with our 5yr old and 2year old. They loved it. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff was friendly and very helpful. Its a beautiful building and a very enjoyable experience.

This is a very beautiful venue.

I love this old theatre. Its just that theres very little room to maneuver to slide past peoples knees if you need to get up for something. Get an aisle seat or at least near an aisle if you can. Also, the main floor is bumpy and has a bit of a steep grade which can be difficult for someone with mobility issues.

Went to see the Macon Civic Club show and they used this facility. It was a nice to see the additional room and bathrooms and the renovation. The drinks were a little high and the fact that you had to buy their to go cup after you buy the drink was off putting. Also there were several people vaping up in the balcony and I never seen any of the ushers say anything to them, but that may be the Civic Clubs duty. Nice facility, see you next year.

Great place to visit. Beautiful theater every seat in the house is one of a great seat. The acoustics are wonderful. The house itself was absolutely beautiful there is no other word for it. The shows and artist, the talent was just altogether captivating. What a wonderful night for both friends and family. Look forward to many more evenings spent at The Grand Opera House, Macon Georgia

It was a beautiful venue, never been before. It was a bit cramped for the occasion, but that was moreso the fault of the people who chose the venue. Would come back.

Mercer presents a great variety of shows

Great venue and location, but some geniuses added seating at some point by blocking aisles, making it a trek to reach center seats. VERY bad when tiny bladder folks keep playing hockey pokey to reach the potty.

This place has held up over the years. Its historic and I enjoy the various entertainment thats featured there.

To steep for heels and not an appropiate venue for a graduation...it is very much in need of a lot of repairs behind the scences.

The best place in Macon to see a concert

The Grand is a classic local place. Obviously the show quality will depend on each individual show, but the facilities have been recently overhauled and are as nice as ever.

The Nutcracker can only be The hit at Christmas!

We just saw the Macon Pops perform music from James Bond. Its a fantastic venue!

My first visit since the remodel and it is beautiful. Tonights show was Spamalot and I loved it.

Great old opera house newly renovated entrance and bathrooms.

Its old. Its musty. Its hot. And its grand. It is everything an old venue is supposed to be. Except... it lost a star for bad sound at the Air Force Band performance.Despite whatever other negative things intelligent, comely, and sagacious people (ahem, me) might say about him, the sound was great when Phil Banze ran the place. So, yes, I know the sound can be done better than it was done. So... Do better and get your star back? Good.

My wife and I love this place. Great seats where ever you are seated. Phenomenal acoustics! Our last visit was Devon Allman and Duane Betts concert. Great show if you get the chance to see these talented offspring. You wont be disappointed. Parking has always been great. Drinks are priced as usual for any event. A little pricey. Keeps the drunks sober. Everyone is always pleasant and helpful. Bathrooms are usually clean. There is usually a line for the womens. A beautiful historic building. Im NOT a big fan of the marquee on such a beautiful building. It serves a purpose though. Were ninety miles away and make the drive a few times a year. When somethings in town we want to attend. Come have a little fun at a beautiful venue in middle Georgia.
