Great place for a chill and nice time. $5 for parking. An old approaches you and shows you where to park. Not sure if they actually own the land where we park because its literally the side of the road. People need to stop littering the area. Its a beautiful place and local government needs to enforce littering laws in there.

This place is amazing. If youre looking for a local spot off the beaten path look no further. Locals hanging out kids jumping off the rocks into the river. Families cooking on the grill. One of the coolest places we went while Im Puerto Rico. There is a little natural rock water slide and a great deep place to jump off the rocks if you go downstream a little bit.

Definitely worth the stop! $5 cash to park in the viejos driveway. The hike is not steep down to the river. Highly recommend water shoes, secure sandals, or socks for climbing up the rocks to the large slide. Stay as long as you want! Hike light, just bring your keys and a towel.

This is definitely a tricky spot to get to, but its worth finding the way. The slides appear to be in private property and the homeowner has a few parking spots marked out in his driveway. It costs $5 to park there (and there isnt really anywhere else to park). There are two falls to slide down: an upper and a lower. The lower might be the best place to start to shake off the nerves if you have some. Its short and small with a large pool at the bottom. Enter just below the 10ish foot waterfall and slide down to the pool. The upper slide moves quite a bit quicker and requires some technique. Climb up the right-hand side of the slide but watch out because it will be slippery. Wearing just socks seemed to provide the best traction for climbing up. At the top, step in and sit down. Lean forward with your legs together and your hand stretched out to the sides to balance yourself as you slide down. This will help keep you from spinning backward too much.We ended up spending about 1.5 hours here and had a lot of fun. Definitely add it to your list of things to do while youre exploring the rainforest.

I thought that because we are living tough times with the COVID situation and today is a Monday, this could be a place to chill for an hour. Bad idea!!! Full of people. There is a guy charging parking! Really? Came out of nowhere between the cars. I was parked on the side of the street and he showed his face through my car window....!!! NO MASK!!! Some puertoricans really make me feel second hand embarrassment. I kindly ask the sir to back off and permit me organize my stuff. He didnt move and bluntly told me he wasnt going to get Covid. Enough for me to inmediately leave.

This place is fun! This is the spot. Small sign marks the parking. Pay $5 to park and go. We arrived 5:30pm and the nice fellow reluctantly let us stay and play, so arrive earlier. 2 sets of slides. One when you immediately get down the path and look left is a bruiser but worth it. Other slide down to right is also a bruiser but less speed. Also rope swing and deep pool to jump off rocks.

Beautiful scenery but the slides are only for the brave. Go when it hasn’t rained in a while or the river will be too powerful. It’s a bit of a walk to get to the swing and slower slide. Wear water shoes or river sandals because the walk down from the parking lot is steep and the walk along the river is rocky. Unless you want to do the slides I would recommend Angelito Trail in El Yunque for swimming.

I might have been scared off if not for the many other people. Bathroom costs 25¢ to use. The rocks are massive and fun to climb on. The larger river area for swimming had a few people in it with children playing. There is a rope swing and a nice height rock to jump off of. This place was by far the most fun we had in the rainforest. We drove on 983 coming out of El Yunque and the entrance was on the left. If we didnt read the reviews here we would have never known that such a beautiful place is hiding behind someones house. We paid $5 for parking inside the owners yard, felt safe with the security cameras and the closed gates. You walk down the stairs in the back of the house and the waterfalls are right there. First spot is easy 5 min walk, the second one is little tricky walking on the rocks but worth it! the lower pool Is bigger with a place to slide and jump from the big rocks. Also cool to swim with the fish in the pond.

SUPER AWESOME AND FUN! walk down the path (steep) & then walk directly to the rocks in front of the tree, climb in and have fun! make sure you grab the yellowish rope to help you climb up the rocks so you can go down the slide! definitely bumpy (pretty sure this might be where those super expensive tours on airbnb take you- just rent a car and go yourself) around 40ish mins from san juan. super awesome experience. wouldnt start from the very top just like middlish, would reccommend shoes with traction/that are secure- no bare feet or flip flops - natural pool at the bottom but you need to climb to get to it. (there actually might be a path to walk around to it but i wasnt that invested) $5 parking- owner only speaks spanish. (park STRAIGHT)

The Lower & Slower SlideLas Paylas in LuquilloThe slower slide is downstream (to the right) from where the trail meets the river. This does require a walk down the rocks. The locals go barefoot (and I bet it provides better traction), but I wore Crocs and Ray had water shoes. Footware with some traction is helpful. This lower slide is about 12-15 feet long, and a straight course into the pool. It starts right after a pretty little waterfall cavern. I sat in this pool and enjoyed the water. It was chilly (or refreshing as we like to say!).There were some local kids there and one of them showed me where to get into this slide, and he did it to show me how. Then it was my turn.It was really smooth (thankfully!) and not too fast. The pool at the bottom was deep (about 8-10 feet) and the rocks were a bit slippery for getting out. But I enjoyed the ride enough to decide that I would try the faster, larger one.The Upper & Faster SlideThe faster slide is upstream (to the left) of where the trail meets the river. For this one, you have to climb up the large rocks to the starting point. This slide is about 30 feet long and has some twists and turns. The girls told me to try to keep my arms in close to my body, so that I wouldn’t hit my elbows on the sides. They also suggested to try to remain upright. What they didn’t mention is that keeping my arms in would not help me balance through the twists and turns! But I was game, and off I went.I was less than graceful, but I made it! It was fast and the turns do twist you around a bit. The pool at the end is also deep, but easier to get out of than the lower pool. I did end up getting a small scrape on my elbow, but it was fun!If you watch the kids, many of them do run their hands along the walls as the go down for stability. Some of the kids do really crazy stuff — head first, standing up, a train — all kinda scary looking but fun to watch.
