Been here for 4 years and the gym itself is great.BUT bring your own headphones because a scene girl from 2010 always has the aux cord and continues to play Blink 182, Panic at the Disco, and All Time Low 24 hours a day
This gym is amazing. The equipment is always clean and they have everything and anything you could think of! Never been too crowded for me! The upstairs is also a nice place to go if the downstairs is more crowded.
A great place to exercise for university students, staff, & alumni. There are 6 full size basketball courts, 3 racquetball courts, and more. There are always machines available everytime I go in. They provide equipment rentals including towels, locks, balls, racquets, etc. The alumni membership now starts out at $32/mo (which has been raised $2 from $30) is a bit higher than monthly memberships at Planet Fitness or LAC. Also since it is a University property the hours are more restrictive than other gyms, especially during spring/winter breaks, holidays, summer, and weekends. It is a very nice gym if the cost and hours arent an issue for you.
Seriously top notch facilities. Im not a student so I have a community membership which lets me practice jujutsu there.
Great and clean and very updated ! Had something for everything
Covid free haven
Great, up-to-date facility with a large variety of equipment. Very roomy and tons of athletic facilities/rooms/areas. Has 6 basketball courts, tennis rooms, a golfing simulator, and a running track. Several classes held here you can sign up for such as martial arts and yoga. Also offers fitness coaching and nutrition planning for a fee. Great hours too. 6am-11pm M-Th and weekend hours make it easy to work around college class schedules.
Tons of useful gym equipment!
Great place for the students..of the most important services the university offers for students, and as you know, for Free! Many activities and sport classes, bike rental, football, basketball, volleyball playground, Bing bong tables, hockey and squash, well maintained place, and lots of gym equipments and fitness tools!Give it a try if you havent.
A more expensive gym membership (UofL students pay for it involuntarily) but if you’re willing to pay $30+ a month you definitely get what you pay for here. Basketball courts and nice equipment/programs.
Incredible facilities, great staff, great space to work out, and ball if youre into that- racquet that is, basketball and intramurals are also available.
Courts are dope and the classes are great. I took the power yoga class and got my behind kicked. It wore me out but was so great. The instructor was very knowledgeable.
The best gym in the area hands down! The staff is very nice and helpful.
The SRC is the best location to work out or play sports with friends on campus. The facade of the building is very modern and the massive Cardinal head is beautiful. Two separate workout rooms have more than enough space and machines. 6 basketball courts are all good quality. The multi-purpose indoor court is also good and has court markings for multiple sports (handball and indoor soccer), but no real place to spectate. Turf field outside is also good, although there are no field markings for any sport. The racquetball and squash courts are also the best Ive seen, although again theres no good spot to spectate from. Indoor golf simulator is garbage though. The basketball courts are usually always fully occupied unless you go early in the day or later in the night. The basketball and MAC courts are occasionally taken up by various intramural sports, which is cool and all but it would be nice if they posted a schedule in the lobby indicating that courts are reserved and for how long. Usually the turf field lights turn off an hour before the SRC actually closes, which is inconvenient as its difficult to play in the dark. Locker rooms are expansive and clean. The basketballs and volleyballs you can borrow are generally good quality but any other kind of ball they have are old and ratty. The indoor track upstairs is oddly shaped and has a weird length (11 laps/mile) but its in good condition at least. Bathrooms are always clean. Game lounge upstairs is decent but they only have last-gen consoles and you have to provide your own games. Overall a great facility, UofL made the right decision when building this place.
They charge students $50 to go there during the summer... even if you took classes in the spring and are registered for the fall. Ive been a UofL student for 6 years now and I pay a rec fee every single semester. Ive been paying it since before the SRC was even there, and theyre telling me I cant go unless I buy a summer membership? Thats a really good way to shaft your students and NOT be inclusive.
Agree with all others reviews but there is a lack of access to equipment. There is equipment (yoga mats, balance balls, straps) that is not accessible unless you are participating in a scheduled class at the SRC. It’s frustrating that as a student I am forced to pay a recreation fee each semester that doesn’t even guarantee full access to all equipment. Now I will have to buy this equipment if I want to use it outside of a class.
Always loved playing basketball there while in school
Great exercise equipment and options.
Great hours. Up-to-date facility with a huge selection of equipment and helpful staff. Has a golf simulator, 3 racquetball courts, basketball courts, and other reservable spaces. Overall perfect gym with all the exercise equipment you will ever need.
Nice setup for weight lifters, even better basketball courts
Great gym. Spent my summer in Louisville on an internship and really enjoyed coming here to workout and de-stress. No complaints.
Great facilities, spotters arent too great during the Summer.
Spacious, clean, well lit, friendly environment.
The Facility is awesome. Brad Proffitt is just okay though. 4/5 as an average.
This is a great facility! The staff is friendly and the equipment is very good quality.
Great but opens on 1:00 on Sunday is lame. Staffing reveals an imbalance in management workforce i.e. Sunday there are way too many staff and Monday at 5:00 there arent enough. Great weights but lacking aquatics.
World class work out facility. This place has six basketball courts
Super awesome fitness facility! 6 basketball courts, Squash, soccer and much more
High tech facility, great staff, cheap membership for alumni.
This facility has a vast amount of different exercise equipment and its very clean. The facility is only a couple years old so it still looks brand new.
Plenty of gym space, equipment is up to date and they offer various classes throughout the week. Theres also a virtual golf simulator.
It has a ton of basketball courts, an indoor soccer field, some racquetball courts, and a large number of exercise equipment. It is lacking any aquatic amenities or steam or saunas.
Great place
Everything you need for a great workout!!
Many amenities, and clean.
Wish they would fix the broken equipment that have been, “out of service,” for months.
My office of work
Best gym in the city point blank period.
Has a full weight and cardio setup. For everyone else there is racquet ball, indoor soccer, basketball and virtual golf. Showers are cold in the winter and there are no aquatics.
Theres an indoor running track and multiple basketball/ racquetball courts. Can also reserve the aerobic rooms if you need mirrors.
Very nice and well kept facility.
Great facility with lots of equipment
Love the indoor soccer arena.
Best fitness and recreation center in the area with a large workout area, indoor track and cardio area
