I can see what all the hype is all about now that Ive been to Indian Rock. I walked up Solano and through a cute uphill path off of The Alameda all the way to Lyon Recreation Center. By the time I got there, I was ready to rest for a bit. However, the Rock was calling me.
Clean, spacious fitness gym with excellent gratuitous fast, WiFi connection, cable TV and comfortable carpeted seating area . Friendly staff members are posted ready to assist you with any Lyon Rec Center-related matters.
Thank you! Looks like its good quality
It’s a great gym for weight lifting. 6 squat racks, 1 Smith machine, 4 flat benches, 1 incline bench, At least 10 benches for dumbbell exercises and many other machines and cardio equipment. It can get crowded after 5pm.
Its clean and new facility, and has everything you need to work out, also great basketball court
Great place for being fit
You can get the bench easily, no need to wait for half an hour like village gym.
Excellent facilities and good recreation space
The equipment is older, comparing to the Village. The area is too small and crowded with equipments. However, You will like here if you can play squash or basketball.
The older USC fitness center. Pretty big space well worth membership.
This is a rather ugly, crowded, primitive, and low quality gym for a school that is so boastful about athletics. Its honestly pathetic given how expensive tuition is here. Even with the new University Village facility, the overall gym situation at USC is underwhelming at best. Its a real shame they got rid of 75% of the racquetball courts, 100% of the squash courts, and the indoor climbing wall.
The village fitness center is superior tho
Much nicer and less crowded after redesign and opening of village fitness center
Lyon is a great resource for USC students to stay fit. However, it is too small for the volume of people who use it. If you want to go and have a good workout, you need to go at off-times or else you will be standing around waiting for others to finish. The equipment, is also over-used. With so many people using the same equipment, it seems hard for them to maintain it all. There is always a broken machine or two. All in all, its a good resource but inadequate for how many people use it.
Nice clean gym. Good selection of equipment. Times can be odd out of season. Anyone can become a member.
The weightroom got renovated during the spring of 2016. They added more benches, more squat racks, and finally replaced the uneven floors! Theres tons of equipment, and the lockers are nice and clean. Also, the people in the weightroom are polite. I have yet to run into a rude person. My only two complaints are that the staff are typically very lifeless and they have a low stock of sports equipment.Gets crowded during the evening, but so does every gym.
I go there every day, a little old fashioned but has everything you need. The gym gets pretty busy in afternoon and evening time.
Number of equipments not sufficient but overall its good!
A decent gym for USC students.
Great place for working out, free for USC students, but online registration needed.
Very nice pool.
Great place to get fit!
Decent facility for USC students and staff. Super crowded at almost all hours.
Best gym for USC folks
Good, but a little crowded
Awesome place for fun and sports.
Well-equipped, but over-crowded
Shut down this damn school
All sports for free for USC students
No words!
Cz its the best there is..
Very small gym. Also, they change the gym schedule frequently.
Favorite place to work out at USC
Awesome pools
Good facilities
Great for an on-campus gym.
This facility has a very poor management and poor maintenance.
Very small and always packed
Ping pong tables on 2nd floorvery clean gym!
Closes early at the worst times (finals week). No coherent schedule.
