It was my first time there so I was a little nervous, but the friendly atmosphere made me feel at home. Everyone was kind and welcoming. I saw the play Paradise and all I can say is that, I was completely sucked into the play as if it were reality. Top notch acting from Maral Milani and Jeff Marlow. The set design was beautifully done as well, it felt like someone literally cut a piece of a classroom and carried it over with a crane to the stage. I do not regret going, and neither will you.

The Theater: This theater has been there since 1980s. Many pictures are displayed in the lobby and hallway of some of the shows played in this theater. Even though it is an old theater but they maintain very well. Very small & intimate theater. Every seat is a good seat. Very up close to the stage & fun to see all the performers right in front of us.Lobby area is quite spacious. Bench seating. There is no seat assigned so first come first served. They dont sell any food or drinks there. So no snacks before the show or during intermission. The Service: Staffs at the box office is helpful & efficient. The Parking: Street metered parking.

“The Double V” is the most riveting new play in Los Angeles. Playing for a limited time at the Matrix Theatre on Melrose Blvd. Starting from a letter sent to the Pittsburgh Courier from a young black man asking if he could fight for his country after the United States was attacked by Japan and at the same time Germany was trying to dominate Europe. The letter was published and this true story takes off as it sparks the civil rights movement. Written by Carole Eglash-Kasoff who has been an outright activist herself, with the use of a pen! Don’t miss this multiple award winning team that will stun you with the civil rights movement called “The Double V.”

The show was great. The temperature was a little warm for my taste. I also feel that the theater is probably due for a bit of a renovation. That said, it was very quaint and a great little venue. Id definitely come back for another show.

Amazing Place for quality theatre! Well established theatre in LA. Always have great performances and talented acting. $35 tickets would feel like a lot but it doesnt for the performances you get here. Parking is a pain in the rear. Give yourself extra time. Watch out for street parking signs and red curbs. You will get a ticket around there.

One of my favourite 99 seat, Equity waiver theatre in Southern California. My only wish is that the owner/producer Joseph Stern would produce at least three plays/musicals per year.

This is a small theater located in Hollywood, not the usual area that you find much attraction at all.The theater is very tiny, smallest one I ever been to. Only has two row seat that fit around 50 to 60 peoples....Theres no private parking, only available in the street.
