I just attended Kentwood Players Little Women, the Broadway Musical. It was an outstanding cast from top to bottom, well directed and choreographed, with simple but attractive and ingenious sets. The Jo, Jackie Fiske, was the center of the production and played the part powerfully, with solid singing and intensity, but the ensemble, both men and women, were uniformly excellent. Supported by a small orchestra, excellent lighting. The singers were unmiked, but the acoustics were good and they were up to the challenge.A very enjoyable night.
Fantastic local community theater. Plays are well acted and produced.
This was the first time I went to see a production by the Kentwood players. For those who dont know, its a regional theater located in Westchester Osage. The play is called The Giver, adapted by Eric Coble, that is set in the future in a dystopian society. Its a community where children who reach age 12 are given their lifetime assignments, families are given children, one of each gender and old people are sent to another place to live out their lives until they are released. The Giver, played by a wonderful actor named Gavin Glynn is the keeper of all memories. The young actor who plays Jonas, Jack Heath, is a real find. The rest of the cast did a fine job. I also enjoyed the aspect of a multimedia production. I didnt expect this production to move me, but it did.
Top notch acting. Creative sets.
The production of Disneys Little Mermaid was a great, entertaining production. I live in Arizona and I preparing to direct the show here, I saw on the MTI website that the Kentwood Players were going to produce the show. I went to LA to see the show (taking 5 grandkids who live in LA) We loved the show, the costumes, the sets, the little orchestra. The director was so kind and gave me continued advice on directing my own production. I wish I lived in LA so I could enjoy all their shows
The talented cast had me mesmerized. I enjoyed myself so much that I plan to go back again very soon. The venue is intimate and there isnt a bad seat in the house. I highly recommend this spot.
Friendly local theatre that does ambitious projects, like Our Town.
Lovely group of people and great sense of community at the theater.
Kentwood Players is an excellent theater group! My friends and I are always delighted with the plays - and their tickets are reasonable. They perform at the Westchester Playhouse, just a few miles northeast of LAX.
We love this theatre and have been subscribers for a few years. Great value for the cost of tickets.
Great talent.
Lovely local theater. They put on Productions throughout the year, both plays and musicals.
Best community theater in the state
Fun, cute little playhouse! Enjoyed it
Quite possibly the best local community theater organization in the Los Angeles area!
Cute neighborhood theatre. Went back last week. My parents went threre for 30-40 years to see plays.
The ensemble gave a remarkable display of dance routines choreographed brilliantly by Islabel Olives and directed by Harold Dershimer is. A truly original performance.Between each act, applauded by the audience, the stage was set for the next act, and as the lights came back, the players were in place and the play continued seamlessly. All the performers were top notch, but one must single out the narrator of the play who moved us along the plot, tevya, played by Bradley Miller. His singing and prescience as the papa of 5 daughters is real and sympathetic and his magnificent rendition of if I were rich man, was powerful .
Nice venue. Good play.
Small local theater that puts on quality productions. Very reasonable subscriber rate (currently $80 for the season)
