This was very cool to see and we learned some things we would have never known. There are some items general to the country and some specific to Nevada. We got to meet a paleontologist who explained a cool new discovery they found as well as the process they will take before publishing. Very cool place which takes around 2 hours of your day. Will definitely bring our son next time!

Not great customer service at all. The tours and exhibits are highly recommended and for youngsters there is a fun show called Dinosaur Encounters where two dino play about the stage and engage guests young and old. Another option is their garden walking tour which is highly informative and some good exercise. Their cafe has several offerings of decent food but nothing to get really excited about. All of their displays are highly detailed and worth admission alone. Theres also a couple 3D movies that are worth the extra few dollars. One about the ocean which I greatly enjoyed and the other about the dinosaurs called Titans of the Ice Age. That explained how these large animals lived and thrived on our planet. I recommend this museum as it is well worth admission.

I’ve been to a few natural history museums over the country and this one while it offers a lot of what others offers is still worth the visit. Lots to see and lots to learn about, which is what you want from a museum. Parking was easy to find and there was a lot of it. There was also a lot in the area to do so it makes for a good day.

After 10 long years, I finally decided to come visit again.A few tips:1. Parking is $122. Free for la residents between 3pm to 5pm3. Would suggest bringing a sweater, some sections are cold.4. Would suggest skipping out on the 3D films, not worth the money5. Bring a water bottle. They have special sections to fill em up with water.6. Expect to be here at least 5 hours.7. Would suggest bringing either a charger or preferably, a portable charger as there are sections where you wont get service and battery will begin to drain mad fast unless you choose airplane modeExperience:I had a really really wonderful time. The customer service here is phenomenal and kind. They actually made me smile many times and genuinely sought to help out for your best interest. Would highly suggest the butterfly exhibition, that was freakin awesome! This place is a MUST for dinosaur and animal lovers. It had some interesting pieces on culture and humanity as well so it definitely has expanded quite a bit. Will most definitely return, I cant wait!!

Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM) is a must if you love to take selfies and pictures!! At first I didnt see the point of paying to take pictures but honestly it is a very fun experience. There are so many fun backgrounds to take pictures at. It is fun trying to figure out where to position yourself to take the right picture and trying to find funny poses for the pictures. Each background has an indicator of where the person should stand to take the picture to get the best angle so thats super helpful! Over all fun experience, would love to come again.

This museum was greatPros:- Really lovely displays of dinosaurs that were very informative- Loved the live insect section - I think kids would love it- The great hall with the beautiful animals was really cool. I liked that they were cool and quiet compared to the hustle and bustle of the other areas of the museum- The real reason for the museum visit was to check out the Tattoo exhibit which was wonderfully curated and showed a nice contrast between the different styles of tattooing here in Southern CaliforniaCons:- It is a large museum. Theres so much to cover- Maybe we parking in the wrong parking lot, but we ended up walking a fairly large distance from the parking lot to the museum itself.Would I go again? Sure!

Situated in nearby Los Angeles, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is a must-see for anyone visiting the area.During a visit, you’ll pass through billions of years of natural history and see many exhibits, galleries, interactive displays, and artefacts. While California’s natural history is the main focus, there are also exhibits dedicated to the natural history of many places around the world. Some of the permanent exhibits include Becoming Los Angeles, The Discovery Centre, Insect Zoo and the Spider Pavilion. The Dinosaur Hall is one of the more popular exhibits in the museum and features 300 genuine fossils and 20 complete dinosaur skeletons. The North American Mammal Halls feature replicas of various ecosystems, including redwood forests and prairies.A variety of gemstones, minerals, gardens, and shells are also on display, and several temporary exhibits are set up throughout the year.

The most incredible museum Ive ever been to. Definitely leave a whole day to explore it, it might be tempting to go to the other places nearby like the California Science Center in the same day, but trust me if you want to get the best and most out of the NHM experience, absorb it over a full day and buy the passes for the other exhibits. The Antarctic Dinosaurs exhibition was so unique and eye-opening. The museum itself is HUGE and so interesting.

Not my first rodeo! I’ve been here a handful of times and today was one of the best! I love seeing a museum full of life. It was free SoCal Free Museum day, sure it was full and parking was $12, but it was worth it. Exposition Park is lovely area to spend the day and walking through this museum is a treat every single time. Currently due to all the construction the parking is not the best, but this will improve over time. I had great customer service and the docents walking around were so nice. One the current exhibits is the Natural History of Horror which was a infusion of pop culture and anthropology of how horror film/books came to be so popular! This museum always has something to offer everyone. I really enjoyed my time.

So a small side note I guess, if you visit the Los Angeles museum versus the New York museum uh the experience is very different and not in a bad way. So the pricing for LA is set where the NY location takes donations and they do not have a set price. (I still paid a full ticket because I felt that it was fair and we spent a good five to six hours in there). The exhibits are alot of fun interactive for adults and kids. The kids have a lot of fun here they have someone who dresses up in a dino suit and walks around the Los Angeles location. The New York side was packed but I think because they get more tourists. The exhibits and picture opportunities are also different and I do recommend going to both. The food is kind of expensive bring your own or risk burnt chicken nuggets(maybe they were having an off day). Also allow for a full day maybe even two to fully explore both locations. They are an easy day for just two floors and New York loc. was four floors so we didnt have enough time to really take it all in.
