TheYnline rate was 18.97 which they wouldnt honor bcs I was a single golfer. TheY stuck me with another 3some so it made no sense being punished 10.00 for being single golfer. COURSE didnt follow COVID RULES. Should be shut DOWN..TEE BOXES were doubled up. The spacing of groups was terrible.
Save yourself and play somewhere else.Absolute waste of time and money. Terribly managed course in LA. All they do is stack tee times to make money, even during a pandemic. Played first tee 15 mins behind schedule, then headed to the 2nd hole, only to find FOUR groups waiting in front of us on the tee box. Took literally 40 minutes till we teed up. Overall, 5+ hour day, waiting on every single hole.Never again
Its perfect for a quick round. Not every hole is perfect and there is usually bottlenecks randomly, but great course in general.
Almost all the greens are sanded. Good news is the entire green is not sanded. You can still putt your ball if you hit it pin high.
This place is exactly what you would expect for a municipal course. The greens (some of them) are the only decent part of the course. They are well kept and roll true. Fairway and tee boxes are completely beat up and overall not maintained very well. Decent spot for the price and good walk around a short track. Don’t get a cart, it’s 4500 yards.
Greens rolled better than I thought. Fun course. Quit a few lights on the course for night olay werent on which sucked. Pace of play is the biggest issue teed on at 7pm at 10 pm only played 11 holes. Thats what will keep me from playing this course regularly
Super friendly. Play the front 9 right before closing. Definitely recommend getting glow in the dark balls.
Cant belive how expensive it is for range balls, it use to be 12 for a large bucket now its 15
Most amazing Westchester Golf Course Ive ever seen. And alcohol! And even on a rainy Sunday, the wait wasnt that bad! I brought my two little kids and they loved it, but I can see where this would be so fun for just adults too. This place is seriously so amazing. We ate dinner upstairs and that was actually pretty yummy too. Sort of like bar food, but tasty and reasonably priced.
Excellent place to practice for affordable rates!I haven’t played golf in many years and wanted to start again so decided to come here and the guy Chris in the pro shop was very friendly. It was only $12 to rent a large bucket of balls I think about 110 and the golf club rental is free. Definitely recommend this place to everyone.
Course is in good condition and greens are pretty nice, with some good/tough hazards. A lot of reachable Par 3s. All in all for sure a great spot to play and not a huge challenge with big greens and wide fairways. I also had breakfast there which was $5 for a quality start to the day. To top it off the staff was very friendly and communicated very well. Driving range is also a must to ensure your best game!
Oh Westchester golf course how I love thee. Nestled by LAX, this course is a now a 18 hole course. Its would be classified as an executive course. Great for beginners, and advanced players. I love playing this course for my short game. The greens are always in great shape. This little beast will make you hit every club you have. The course has short par 4s, a par 5 on the back 9 and short to mid range par 3s. Only drawback is this course can get busy. Weekends go out early if you can. They do have practice range along with putting, chipping area and even a little bunker. PGA pros on site for lessons as well.
Saturday all practice stalls were occupied.Greens are really A LOT better. They are fairly fast, and if localGolfers were respectful to fix ball dings, they would be even better.Easy course compared to other local courses but still challenging. They fixed parking since the put a NO PARKING sign up for park next door. the noise from airport can be a hamperer to a relaxed day at a golf course
Walked the track, was a good round with the fellas.
Sundown didnt stop us from golfing as the course is lighted. I suggest you play after dark with a partner because there are some dim areas between the tee box and the greens and you will need a spotter to see where you hit your ball. The tee box and greens are sufficiently lighted. Playing by yourself at night will turn into a less than fun outing because of lots of ball searching. They do offer lighted golf balls but I have not played with one yet. I have seen some players using them. They arent premium balls but you can see them and most likely wont lose it.
Great walking course, needs TLC,
2 minutes late and wasn’t allowed to go. Very rude too
Nice park.. great activity for the covid 19
Golf course is a great relatively short 18 hole course that has a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Staff are very nice. Great range. If you are new to golf then this is a great place to hone your skills without the intimidation of many golf courses.
Great driving range. I like this place, as i am a beginner. Got a bucket of balls, 2 drinks, and a round of golf during a happy hour special. Ask for details.
Very slow. Took nearly five hours on an executive layout.
Nice exec. Course. A little noise but you get used to it. Priced right
Just there for a putting contest. Great time. Great staff.
Nice course. Great Happy Hour price mad it well worth it.
Nice driving range and practice areas Easy to get in and out.
Such a great place!! Either date night or with a small group of friends!! The different courses make it very interesting!
The coarse is smaller than most. However, you should not be fooled by that. You should still tee-off as strong as possible and chip normally. Some holes have a large space after the putting green, which could cause an issue. Finally, the driving range has much sand. This poses a serious obsticle on the surrounding holes, especially on hole #9. This is bad when it is windy, as they combine to form a sort of sandstorm that is horrible.
This golf course is fantastic! Not only do they have a large driving range with lights, the golf course also has lights for evening play. Very well maintained and where else can you say you play next to jumbo planes?!
Fun golf course to practice your short game. Super executive with mostly Par 3s and short Par 4s. But dont let that fool You, the greens are in great shape most of the year since they aerate every 2 months. The staff is friendly and they have the best driving range in Los Angeles. Did I mention that they have night golf available and that the course is lit. You can play super Twilight and walk after dinner and play 18 holes. How fun is that? Super fun in my point of view.
Nice public course with plenty of room at the range to practice. The short game area is nice as well.
Safe and fun
Well kept greens, I really like this course. Par 3,4, &5s.
Awesome course for all skill levels! Excellent customer service. I accidentally left one of my clubs behind and the management team was kind enough to help ship it back to me in Canada. Also the course was super affordable :)
Not busy on weekdays. But short total range. Too much par 3 holes.
I visited Westchester golf course for the first time today and it was absolutely wonderful. I was just there to practice putting but the spirit of all the people that were there was excellent. The course looks like a fun one to play Im excited too reserve a tee time here in the future. The airplanes can be a little distracting, but hell, THE AIRPORT USED TO OWN 3 HOLES!
For 35$ cant go wrong, enjoy a fun day, short course, but fun
Best driving range in West LA
The snack bar and grill is the best kept secret in the Westchester area. Bianca is simply the best. Try the Club Sandwich for starters.
Good tight course for the first four holes but should speed up there after great staff members
I have been playing this course sine i was a kid. Its nice that its a full course now, but would like to see a couple more par 5s. The course stays pretty packed. The weekends are a reservation only, you may have to wait if you decide to play on the week day.
For a par 64 with a nice par 5 on the back 9, not bad. You get your full range of shots in. During the week you should be able to get a round in for about 3 1/2 hours if you hit em straight.
Friendly staff and well maintained facilities. Great place to hit balls and work on short game.
Welcome to Westchester Golf CourseConveniently located just north of LAX, near popular Westside beaches and communities, this 18-hole, 4,364 yard public golf course is a fun and affordable challenge for golfers of all abilities. The course has a casual feel to it, with impeccable greens, nighttime play, daily instruction, and a newly renovated driving range. Perfect for scheduled play, spontaneous practice, or for golfers awaiting a flight – Westchester Golf Course delivers great golf, every time.
Great experience, just slow.
Excellent golf course for beginning and advanced amateurs without having to play major courses of 7000 feet. But still full 18 holes with one par five and several par 4’s. Course is well-maintained and plays in about four hours
Took too long to play. They stack groups of five which slows down the course. Course Marshalls dont manage the players who bet on each hole which makes it even slower!!! Had to wait 30 minutes past our Ttime to start!
If you like to hit golf balls on the grass good place to go.
Great short and fun course.
Great place to go. Had fun
Its not a bad course if youre trying to get back in the SWING of things. The only issue is that they over book the course. Other than that, you will enjoy your time.
Excellent driver range. Balls are old, but good facilities.
The bathrooms are a little rough unless you like port a poddys. The range mats are in good shape. The range balls about 65% ok to good and 35% bad to unhittable. Seems like the chipping are is always closed.
This is like my 2nd home...lol
While Ive only used the driving range here, Ive always been able to find a spot. With the airplanes flying overhead and the laid back atmosphere, Ive always found this to be a really laid back driving range in LA.Its never intimidating, nor filled with people who are trying to be armchair coaches. The prices for balls are affordable and I believe they do ladies night on Friday nights at the driving range as well. If you dont have any clubs, you can borrow a club from inside the pro shop.If youre looking for a place to unwind and swing away, this is a laid back place to do it.
Very friendly staff. Course plays pretty well even on Saturday.
This place is convenient and great.
Great executive golf course. It now has 18 holes and is lit up until 10p.m. usually for night golf. They also have a great driving range. Except for hole 1, most of the par 3s are challenging, especially with the wind conditions. The Par 4s are on the shorter side and the par 5 is a fun hole with a green well protected by 3 bunkers. The tee boxes are all grass, fairways are in good condition, not many people tend the sand traps properly. The greens seem a bit fast to me, but this is compared to Penmar and Rancho, so ill let you make your own determination on their speed. Prices are also really good with twilight, super twilight, happy hour, and monthly night golf specials. Pace of play is hit or miss. A lot of learning golfers play here and they also allow 5-somes, so the pace can get bad at times. In my experience, more often than not, the pace is acceptable considering it is a public course, but sometimes it can get backed up with the 5-somes and newer players. Between 3-5 hours depending. For skilled golfers the course will not be challenging, but shooting the course rating of 3.5 under par could be a fun challenge. For newer golfers and high handicappers its a great course to work on your short game, have some fun, and get to try a few longer holes while playing a full 18.
Awesome course to play for beginners. Super cheap and easy. Awesome driving range.
They have such a friendly staff and David is the man. It’s a no brainer as to why business is booming
Great local executive course, you can practice all the shots with their unique combo packages, reserve your tee times starting @7 a.m.
Had a really good time! Problem was the crew playing ahead of us was dilly-dallying around thinking they were some Pro-Am tournament people.
Short course with plenty of par 3s makes it ideal for beginners. Walkable. Wasn’t too busy when we played (Saturday 7am tee time). Friendly staff, great view of LAX airport and planes taking off/landing. Will 100% be back.
I love the Coachs there
Great experience and Chuck the Ambassador was great.
Great new practice area also here.
Small nice 18 hole course and driving range. Next door to LAX for those long layovers. Friendly staff and new short-game practice area.
Cheap, well maintained. Airport noise an issue. Slow pace of play
Great practice facility, late evening T times, first and last golfing from LAX
I play here about six times each year in the early spring and late fall. I prefer to play after dark under the lights. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are easy going and relaxed. Ive encountered ill-mannered players once or twice but they are the exception not the rule here.In the darkness the back nine makes you feel like you are alone on the course. last spring a fox came out of the wooded area next to 15 and checked my ball. Whatever you do, dont waste time looking for any shots that go OB in the dark.
Great course...
Nice short 18 hole coarse, only one par 5. Good condition. Close to LAX. Half of the greens were just aerated. Snack bar, putting green and driving range. Fairley busy.
Friendly staff and Decently maintained. Great little local facility
Nice practice facility
Nice driving range and chipping practice areas.
Nice driving range. Friendly people and well maintained areas.
Great driving range. Really friendly staff nice people to talk to on the range . Putting green was a bit crowded and I havent played the course in a while so I will reserve 5 stars from when I play the course in a week or so.
Great looking course, plenty of pods at the range and my instructor Lynn is easy-going, patient and a amazing teacher!
Few months ago my husband has started coming to this place with some friends from work, and once they brought us too( wifes!) .. i had so much fun!!!i have to say that was my first time in a golf court, but again i had a blessed day ?
First of all, the marshalls job is to make sure that theyre providing excellent customer service to the people. But, on my first and last visit to this course was unlike anything Ive ever experienced. This older man comes up to us on the 4th hole and starts barking at us and telling us that were slowing down the pace. However, if he looked in front of us there was a foursome just finishing up on the green. In addition, after this attack, the group who was behind us came to us and said Youre not slowing us down. This marshall/ranger needs to be trained again and calm down. In the future, I suggest that he look and see whats really going on before going after their customers!
Well-kept for a public course. Rather challenging with so many par-3s, since par-3s demand a good, accurate tee shot. Counter service is excellent, cart garage very helpful with any problems. Having lights after sundown means you can start late and still get in all 18. I only go on weekdays, and the pace of play is quite acceptable. The most amusing review here is from the guy who rates the facility Poor to Fair because there arent any right-handed drivers for rent at the driving range -- you needing to rent a driver means youre not a golfer, pal. Who cares what you think?
Short track that gets crowded, but nice practice facilities and decent layout in the middle of the city
Not a bad course! The course seemed well kept and the workers are friendly. The carts are limited on busy days but the courses a rent so long that youll suffer from exhaustion. They sell be here for you to take on the course but they dont have rain checks so make sure your ready to play all 18 if you pay for it.
Great driving range and practice area for putting, sand and short shots. LPGA pro Lynn Ralston is awesome instructor.
Good club house with food and drink and golf supply very nice practice area and well kept course with driving range
Cool
Good service.
Great range, low prices, pretty well-kept course. Twilight golf is great in the summer, til 10p. Can sometimes play slow as tee times arent that closely managed.
Hitting golf balls at the range, nice
Came out here for the driving range. I havent had a chance to try the course yet. The range is well-kept, and the prices are definitely affordable. LAX is right by this spot, so sometimes the sound of the planes taking off distracted me. Thats the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars. That being said, I still plan on going back sometime.
Basic course that wont challenge good players too much. In ok condition. More suited to learners and was very slow to get around the day i played. Rented clubs for $20. They were brand new which was nice but cheap with uniflex shafts.
