Very nice place to through an event. We did a celebration of life memorial for my mother in law and it was beautiful. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful during and after the event. I highly recommend this location for anything from a party to an intimate gathering.

The greens are soft and kind of slow but maybe it was just the particular day as it was extremely hot and muggy.The course is in ok shape.I actually had trouble finding my ball three times in the middle of the fairway because of large patches of very deep grass. I had to take several minutes to find it. And when I did locate the ball, it was similar to hitting out of a bad lie in deep rough which is pretty annoying - especially when you hit good drives as seldom as I do! Mow the fairways!!

Ive been playing here since I was a kid . The course is always in good shape except when it time to punch the greens. This can happen anywhere at any course. The course is in good shape as of this review. Greens are great as well. As they day goes in the get harder and more challenging. They have a practice range with a monthly fee or you can just hit 1 bucket. Giant putting green with a chipping area. Fun course from the back tees.

Needs renovation but we had a great time celebrating a baby shower. The food was tasty. But a good old cleaning and panit. Needs to be revised.

I had tee time reservation 3pm on Sunday.During the play around 5pm, and the my golf cart didnt move. I went to the clubhouse and they have few cart out there.I asked for a replacement, but the staff said that I had to give it to other people who caught the tee time and he didnt give me the cart. If they have more cart like 5th cart coming then I can take it.and he saidProbably 40min waiting do you understand???OMG is too bossy and rudeTo me. I was shockingI didnt understand that the person who received the money was not given the cart even if the cart was not moving, and that it was given to people who had newly set tea time, and in the end, the car was not brought. My golf bag had wheels, so I had to drag it around without a cart. It was a weekend when I was only stressed by an employee who didnt know who was the PRIORITY. The service was a mess.green is really bumpy.they didnt cut rough .terrible service around twilight .The Course want to pay credit card only because Covid19.but when you go around twilightIf Managers not there?Few staff wanted to DEAL with cash !!! Extra money there pocket.with out who do not have a tee time reservation or walk in customers.I wouldnt recommend to all my friends.Chester Washington Golf Course may remain a bad memory in the future!!!

Great little course with tons of mitigation efforts to stop COVID-19 spread. Course condition was as expected with some really well maintained areas and a few areas that could use some TLC. Overall good value!

Great practice facility, big range, they do allow practice on grass on Tuesdays. They have big practice green and separate chipping green.my suggestion to avoid crowds is to play before 11 am or after 1 pm. they do have snack bar and separate bar area. Nice wedding lawn area! Big parking lot, what allows to accommodate the players as well the banquet guests and most of all friendly staff :) I enjoyed my time at the Chester.

Can’t beat the price of $15But this is a track where you focus more on practice. Course is beat up and I don’t know if they own a roller for the greens..? It was like playing plinko when puttingAgain it was cheap

Greens and fairways are in good condition. Tee-box is pretty tore up though..Pace of play was not too bad on a friday morning.This course is a target shooting course with tiny greens - some green are ridiculously small. Course is in pretty good shape overall.

Beautiful grounds and golf course that offer many unique spaces for a wedding, reception, or party. We were hired to coordinate and style a Prom Champagne Party. We provided full event decor, an All You Can Drink Beverage Station, Dessert Station, Photo Backdrop, etc for the event held in the garden of the clubhouse. The space is nicely surrounded by a natural 12 ft high hedge wall that provides for a picture perfect backdrop!

Nice field but they lack on keeping the grass trimmed. I spent more time looking for my ball than actually golfing.

Very beautiful and spacious, dance floor is so much fun. Good times!!!! Wedding was a big HIT, gorgeous.

My sisters wedding was held here. Its a beautiful venue! I have been to a few events held here and they were great! Beautiful ballroom, great bar and ample parking! Restrooms out dated but clean. Looking to book for my husbands 40th birthday party soon.

Attended a event there. The room we were in was a nice room. I was told they have different social events(Karaoke and etc) on different days of the week. Will have to check it out.

People at the counter are fast to get you going to ur Tee, greens were in good shape. The 2 lakes on hole 7 and 9 will get u nervous if ur a beginner and most likely youll end up in the water. Really nice course by the way

Nice venue. Plenty of space, inside and out. Great for all types of events.

The greens and fairways drained well but very few golfers are repairing or sanding divots in the fairways as well as repairing ball marks on the greens. About half the bunkers have standing water. The sand in the bunkers is still wet and firm. The roughs are not mown and at 2 to 3 inches are challenging.

Beautiful golf course. The staff really makes the place. They are so knowable about the whole course. Soooo quick to assist anyone in any situation. Thanks guys, for making our visits so extra GREAT! Like Tony tiger would say!

I had a great time. I was invited to hit balls at the Chester Washington​​ Driving Range. We got a big basket and a medium basket. About $15.00. To say the least that was a bit much. However, we hit and hit and another golfer next to me was leaving and gave us more balls. Just to show as an example of how friendly folks are. After hitting balls, we went to the club house. There is a bar and Taco Tuesday fixings were being prepared. We left, but the following week, I came back and checked out Taco Tuesday. It was good. I didnt want all the fixings,but I got an enchalta! Very good. Muy Bueno plus a drink. An adjoining room was set up for cards,socializing and karaoke. Lots of nice people... Hit some balls, then go to the clubhouse and mingle. You may dance as well. Music, great. See you on Tuesday!!! Don Owens

Good course to golf when you cant find tee times else where.Semi challenging course. Relax and enjoy ocean breeze from 5 miles away. Not too hot in summer. Not too cold in winter.Good weather all year astound.

The course has being improved for last couple months. The fairway and the greens are in good shape.

Bumpy and inconsistent greens. Fairways in some areas are bare. Great layout. Just needs some maintenance and the place would be great.

They pulled off a great event for us.

Shame how they turned a public golf course in South Los Angeles basically into a private one by the way its run and whos allowed to golf there. No outreach to the community of African-American boys and girls who live adjacent to the course that sits directly across from a welfare (dpss) office; emphasizing that golf is a sport for Asians and Whites only.

Decent course. Fairways aren’t particularly well kept. Pace of play is a bit slow as well. The rates are fairly low so you get what you pay for. If you’re not a regular the staff are a bit cold to you. Driving range, putting green, and chipping green are all right next to the pro shop. If you book in the dark you play in the dark.

Used the range. Took my kid and forgot there were no walls between stalls. It worked out ok.

It is always a mixed bag at Chester Washington.Ive gone about a half dozen times (all weekends) and the majority of the time it was a decent experience. No major delays. A somewhat slow pace but not egregious.The snack bar is incredibly slow because it seems staffed just by a single person.However my most recent adventure was booked for 2pm. When we arrived 20 minutes early to check in, we were informed that there was a tournament going on that was backed up and that we would be delayed 35 minutes.It wasnt the best news, but given past times had gone ok, surely we could wait half an hour. We were given a few complimentary buckets of range balls to pass the time.45 minutes later when we tried to get an update we were told that we werent going to be golfing any time soon and that it was 30-45 minutes (again)Frustration started to set in. And after 30 more minutes we were told....stop me if youve heard this before that itd be 30-45 more minutes.Even that revised revised estimate seemed improbable given that there were no carts at all to handle the now 25+ golfers waiting to play golf (all of which had been waiting from 30-90 minutes)We finally decided to give up and just call it a day as given the rate of play and limited golf carts available we most likely would not have teed off until 4:30 or later and gotten at best 12 holes completed before dark.Overall it was one of the most frustrating experiences Ive ever had at a golf course.I do at least appreciate the guy at the front desk offering us some free sodas for our dejected ride home.

I think its a pretty good course to be pubic. It can be slow at times but you name a public golf course that isnt. All things being equal its, a good bet for the money.

Course is ok but it takes forever to play here. Many groups of five.

Old-school golf, par 70. Smallish greens in nice condition. Play should be faster, but so should all courses.

I play here quite often and I have to say this is probably my favorite course for the money. Keep in mind that it is a public course so there will be slow groups and some obnoxious people. As far as the course, it has a very good and challenging layout for all levels of player skill. The greens are very nice when they are not being punched and the fairways are excellent. Overall a great place. If I had to pick something that I did not like is the chipping area, it is pretty small. Other than that its great!

This place is not for the avid golfer. Cheap, plain course design. Fairway grass is similar to a city park grass . Very busy place because its cheap to play. Play here if your budget is very low and your expectations are even lower.
