Love this place. Have gone a handful of times in the last two years of living in la and always have a good time. But just like any comedy club they have a two drink minimum which is a bummer to me.
I really like the comedy store. I have been to both the L.A. and La Jolla locations. The venues are always pretty cool. The only thing I dont like which is with most comedy stores is the 2 drink minimum that arent made that well.
Best chicken wings ever! Plain, they taste like french fries (for obvious reasons) and as a guy on keto, I appreciate that. Also the dude in the wheelchair is my new God.
Excellent value. This is the place where so many comedians have made their beginnings, and so many famous comedians continue to perform here. For just $25 we saw seven different comedians perform around 15 minute sets. Its a great night because you get to experience heaps of variety. We arrived around half an hour early and were shown to the next available seats, which were very close to the stage. A waitress reminds us of the two drink minimum and takes our order. I had a margarita which was pretty tasty. We also ordered some of their pub grub, including chicken bites, fried vegetables, and a big pretzel with mustard. Chicken and pretzel were good, vegetables had a lot of batter and a strange taste.Overall a really good night. Of course with such a variety of comedians we didnt enjoy everyone, but on the whole its a great venue for great comedy.
No show, but patio comedian through the glass. And SNL out back. All good in new normal
An iconic piece of comedic history filled with nostalgia and good vibes! Nothing like seeing your favourite comedians in such an intimate space where most of them started their careers! Such an experience!Great pricing, excellent staff and nearby discounted parking was a bonus. If you’re keen to see a comic at this location just do it! You won’t regret it.
While in Hollywood, my Wife and I stopped in for our first visit. Not much going on due to Covid but we sat in the back, had some food and watched SNL with the staff and guests. Very chill vibe, food was decent. The service was AMAZING! We had a waitress, DeeDee, who was one of the sweetest people we had met. Cant wait to actually go in and see some comedy! We will ask for, and hope she will be our waitress next time! She is a keeper
This place is Disneyland for adults with a sense of humor killtony on Mondays is the only church I go to any more
Nice intimate venue which the comedians kept you engaged. The sets were short which allowed for multiple variations of comedy. We really enjoyed it and will definitely come again with more friends.
We bought tickets ahead of time and once we got there they had a very long line but it didn’t move very fast.We ended up seeing 8 different comedians. 4 of them were really really funny, the other ones were OK. I will have to look up who the people were that performed and put a like buy there names.I WOULD go back, there is a lot of history there. It’s where so many comedians got their start or performed.
Amazing opportunity to see celebs and up & coming acts. Very affordable tickets! Spent $20 on our ticket, it is a 2 drink minimum but they have a lot of options. The rooms are small but it makes the experience more intimate and interactive. The earlier you get there the better. They seat you based on a first come, first serve basis. Limited parking so take an uber. No photography allowed. Overall amazing date night, group activity, family outing- good for almost any situation and in the heart of Hollywood. Always recommend hitting this up if your in the area.
The venue and show was great - great line up and every seat in the house is good.ADVICE: check your bills/charges. We had a huge issue with our server, Soliana. She double/miss-charged 6 out of 8 people in our group and became aggressive and loudly argumentative when we questioned our bills. $96 for two double drinks with well liquor (each drink was $12, a double was $24) is incorrect math - should have been $48, turns out she double charged for four drinks; she put one couples drinks on anothers bills and still charged the first couple for their drinks as well; another person clarified they wanted a single when she offered a double saying do you want to make it a double, it counts for two, and they said no, just a single, so she put a single in a double glass and then brought another double and when questioned on the charge, argued that she f*ed up and brought a double so he got a double and should pay for it. Im sure most people dont argue their bills but sure seemed like a side hustle of sorts and my recommendation would be to check your charges.Still, great line up at the venue and good experience from that point of view.
Could sit inside! I was lost on the comedy! Drinks were great, but food was nasty!
The comedy store is always such a fun night! Tonight it was $30 a ticket and was almost two hours long. We got to see 7 great acts and was laughing throughout the night. For some rooms, the ticket has a two drink minimum, but you can get non-alcoholic drinks as well. The drinks are reasonable priced and wont set your night over the edge. Beware though, a water costs $5 where a soda only costs $4. We didnt eat any of the food, but it looked like good bar food, so if youre hungry, they can fulfill your needs. Ive been here before to see Dave Chappelle, and had a great time with that as well. Our server came throughout the show to check on us and overall, it was a really awesome experience. Going to do date night here once a month. If you need some good laughs, go here. Youll definitely hear great material, and often its a big name performer.
A MUST do if you are in LA and have a passing interest in comedy. One of the most famous comedy clubs in the world and it is easy to see why. Top tier talent and an incredible atmosphere.I recommend getting your tickets in advance (very reasonably priced). If I am back in LA I will definitely be watching another show!
Fun place to enjoy with fam & friends new to going to live events!!!
Seeing 10-15+ comedians in one night, with many of them being the biggest names in comedy, for $20 a ticket was amazing. This place is a must-go for any comedy fans out there.
Came here since one of my favorite comics talks about it quite a bit. The atmosphere is great. Even though its a 2 drink minimum you dont even realize youre racking up your tab which if youre going out on vacation, might as well. All of the comics were hilarious. Almost stayed until 2 am because I was enjoying each act so much and wanted to give everyone a chance and I didnt regret it.
This was truly a one of a kind experience. I’m not from the area, but I knew I had to stop by after hearing such great things. The Comedy Store did not disappoint! Tickets were more than reasonably priced for the famous comedians I got to see. At that price point, I’d say it was a steal! I had a great seat (first come first serve though I only showed about 40 minutes early as opposed to others) and endless laughs. And to top it all off, our service was great too! I’ll be sure to visit again when I’m back in LA!
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! They were out of stock of my favorite brand of comedy but I purchased something comprable.
One of my favorite nights. Came here for Joey Diaz on a Tuesday, but he hurt his knee. Special guests included Doug Benson and Jeff Ross, who then roasted me for the sweater I was wearing. Definitely pay for VIP if youre coming for a good night. The atmosphere and people were top notch.
All of the comics were hilarious. Almost stayed until 2 am because I was enjoying each act so much and wanted to give everyone a chance and I didnt regret
Great place to see comedy! the atmosphere was awesome and I had a blast. Its the best of the best to see! Check the website to see your favorites and get to know some of your new favorites!
Miss this place and cant wait 2 get shows somewhat back 2 normal
Great little spot, fostering and growing local talent. Has a family dynamic vibe to it. Everyone is down to earth and drops by to have a good time. Parking could be tough and sometimes pricey in the area. Expensive drinks but that’s to be expected. We always have a good time. Went three days in a row. A must visit.
Go if you haven’t already. Tis all I have to say.
This place is legendary when it comes to the shear talent that has performed on the stages of the comedy store. I will never get to go here but i have seen many performances on videos, and i have to say its kind of an honour to write this review. One of my favorites is when the whole gang got together for the 2016 election where bill burr stole the show, while hosting a ride variety of bigs names such as: joe rogan, the machine, joey diaz, and the list goes on.A Big Thanks to all the comedians in the world because the world needs laughter in these trying times, never forget what you do, Mitzie would be very proud . The historical value of comedy will forever live in the comedy stores walls, forever showing people, the true art of a joke and the true feeling it means to get with friends, tell jokes, have some drinks and just laugh because that is after all the best medicine life has to offer. I salute the Big dogs of Comedy. May your audiences be full of laughter and good fortune.
Great venue with an amazing presence! The local lineup is amazing and you can even see some LA native comics that are big, and I mean biiig names, stop by randomly. If you are a fan of standup, this is a perfect thing to do as a local or tourist. Check their page for events going on and see before you go if there is a show that night that may be sold out!
The Comedy Store is a must see place in Hollywood. Fantastic price to see all types of comedians. Food and drinks are served. Must be 21 to enter. My favorite place to enjoy great shows! New comedians as well as famous comedians practice here and enjoy themselves. If you havent checked out this place yet, save some room on your calendar and definitely stop by.
Had a great time! Belly Laugh room small, intimate, but it was nice to be so personal with the talent. Eyes locked from anywhere in that room giving a nice vibe of connectedness. Very comfortable. Heads up...gotta order your first two drinks at the same time before the show starts. (Drinks still come throughout,, tho.) Appetizers were delish! And hot!
The staff moved quickly once the doors open and got us to our seats easily. The space inside is comfortable seating and we ended up along the side. I wish I had the option to buy a bit pricier ticket and not get drinks, because I didnt want anything. I know thats common for these type of venues though.
Now that Ive been there done that I appreciate my local comedy club more... Its fine, the amount of talent that has been through there is what is so cool. The comedy was overall good but Im not rating that necessarily. No big complaints but I have to compare it to hilarities, the place I know and Cleveland is better.
What more can one ask from from a comedy venue? This place is where comedy learns to spread its great wings and fly. From the legends who may pop in at any time, to the high level acts printed on the list of acts each night, you are going to laugh. So be prepared and dont drink milk as it has been known to blow out audience members noses almost as often as coke has blown up the comedians noses in ages gone by. Dont miss this destination if you are in the area. Also, LIKE MY REVIEWS if you found it useful or honest.
Had an very memorable night here! Thursday night with Bobby Lee, Ali Wong, Sebastian, some old French guy named Bryan Callen? (Jokes) and many more! Didnt get to purchase a t shirt but I got one in La Jolla, which is also a very good time always! The history here is incredible and just being in the same room as these legends was a night Ill never forget. I will be back Comedy Store Hollywood!
Fun spot legendary comedy club
Excellent, the best place to see live comedy anywhere in the world. 3 different rooms, some of the best acts in the world. Nice outdoor bar in the front.
DO NOT sit in the front row- they were ruthless! And its pretty clear the acts dont listen to each other because most of them made the same jokes about the people they can see in the audience. But overall a fun night out.
Hubby and I lucked out with $5 tickets on a best of Wednesday night. We saw a ton of great acts including Whitney Cummings and Anthony Jeselnik. Comedians practice new material at this club, and being a part of the judging crew is pretty neat. This is a must do in the area. We absolutely loved it!
A must see spot in LA. Like some of the locals say you are going to have a good time and your favorite comedian may have a hit or miss night. Sometimes they try out new content, but trust me you want to be there for the ones that die their entire bit of the cuff and from people in the crowd. You will have a great time. Yes there is a 2 drink minimum but get there early and it will make your tickets that much more worth it. If you show up early don’t waste you money on the extra $20 per person couch. If you show up late and are easy going don’t waste you money on the extra $20 per person couch. Listen and have fun, engage if required but don’t be the drunk blonde girls in the front row from the first row.
Marc Maron was hilarious. The (world famous) Comedy Store was a great way to end the night. Only problem was that the server didnt bring my guest and i our second drinks (2 drink minimum) and forced us to buy $10 bottles of water.
Only stopped for a quick beer whilst walking towards the top end of the strip. We had a beer outside with a crowd that were waiting to go in. It seemed like a good atmosphere and would have liked to go in. Maybe next time.
Waited a long time to watch stand up here and it was well worth the wait. So much fun and laughter. Wife saw Spade in the hallway. Made her night.
The Legend of Hollywood. I love love love this place. You will see many celebs perform on any given night. Not for the needy, this is Hollywood, so please read the rules, be polite & patient about waiting to be seated. Love you Pauly!!
Saw 15 different comedians and each comedian had 15 minutes to perform. Some did great, others not so well. The food was simple bar food like chicken fingers and fries, which actually was not too bad. It is a two drink minimum for each person. My husband and I did the late show, 10:30-1:30 and I was starting to get sleepy with the comedians who were not very good.
Its the comedy store. The comedians can bit hot or miss but that is part of comedy and it is cool to see the up and coming performers. I always love to hangout at the comedy store when I am in LA.
Definitely a must see if you get the chance. Have not seen a bad show here. Always great talent. There is a 2 drink minimum but thats a small price to pay for amazing entertainment
Love this place. Do NOT go for the food (eat something BEFORE or AFTER the show)...but this iconic landmark should not be missed! Locals and tourists should find their way here, at least once....or like us, a few times a month....to see the best comics in the world!
A lot of history at this place. From a gangster owned dance club in the early 20th century to the Mecca of comedy in the 21st. Almost every famous comic you can think of has performed here. You name it... they were here. Theres also rumors of it being haunted which kinda adds to the mystique. Unlike other comedy clubs, shows go on here passed midnight. You get your moneys worth.
Very bad experience, not funny, a waste of my time and money..
The Comedy Store might be the easiest place to see the funniest comedians in the most intimate settings. From the well known to the up-and-coming, they always put on a great show. Sometimes theyll perform their top-tier material, but other times you can find them working through some new stuff. Either way, youre never going to leave unsatisfied.
I didnt like how the usher shamed me for being single I was already seated when he moved me from my seat and he made me sit 2 tables over n in the back. I went to the show bcuz my bro couldnt make it and the usher was quick to point out that I was alone. Not cool.
Nice spot, great for comedy. You must order two drinks to fulfill your end of the bargain. Just order beer the drinks suck. Thank me later.
This was a last minute decision as a tourist from Australia. We had been suggested seeing a comedy show and when we looked through and found Joe Rogan was playing for $20, well the rest is history. The venue is in a great location. The venue is layed out in ensures everyone can see no matter where you are seated. The staff were friendly. The lights and sound are set up really well. I would recommend to anyone visiting LA in search of a great night out.
Seems like they have something going every night if the week. You can catch rising talents or major headliners nearly every day of the week.
Awesome comedy, great staff, clean place. Very professional and they are quick and efficient when seating you in the main room. Also they bring out drinks and food promptly without interrupting the show much.
Great place to catch a show, while there open everyday of the year, the drinks are awesome and I enjoyed the outside bar which is nice during spring/ summer. I give this place 4 stars. When I return next time I would like to try the food. Remember this is a 2 item type venue so you must purchase 2 items during the show you are attending. Great job Comedy Store.
Obviously an icon. I will say though, that the layout of the club kind of sucks the energy out of the room. I tend to go to The Laugh Factory more, and because its smaller and Intimate, the energy of the room feels bigger. At the Comedy Store, it tends to disapate into the room. The night my friend and I went, the women slayed! So funny. The men? meh.
I wasnt planning on laughing and was surprised how much fun I had. Its a blast. I think the tickets were only like 10 bucks. Two drink min. Which was fine. They have bar food too.
We had a great time. Lots of laughs. Id recommend sneaking out after the main acts - late night gets a little heckly.
The best of the best here! We have been several times and LOVE the amazing talent they have! So much fun! You must go!
Iconic. Got to see so many amazing comedians as well as some new to me funny people. Rad show and reasonably priced tickets (we did The Original Room). There is a two drink minimum so we ordered our two right at the start. Prices are around $10-14 for beer and mixed drinks FYI. Our lineup of the night included Bobby Lee, Tom Segura, Anthony Jeselnik, Brad Williams, Kirk Fox and a whole lot more.
We are from out-of-state and were able to take in our very first comedy show at the legendary comedy store. My better half and I laughed so hard our stomachs and faces hurt for the entire show. 2 drink minimum per person doesnt have to be alcohol, unless you pay more than the general admission you will be set at a two-person table with four but they make it work pretty well even for strangers sitting in that close of proximity. Watching Dave attell Jeff Ross and Brendan Schaub was amazing to say the least! if youre in the LA area and can take in a show I recommend that you never know who could be lurking behind the curtain to come out on stage next!
Its the legendary comedy store. You need to go here at least once! Weeknights are best!
Great venue with great lineups. Lineups can change last minute but thats part of the fun.
The best time ever! Awesome talent and so many laughs. Wait staff was slow but then the venue is so big thats understandable. Great fun
First time at the Comedy Store was a great time. Went solo while in LA on a trip. Got tickets for 16 Headliners in the Original Room for $15 and was there until close around 2 a.m.! Had a few no shows that I was excited to see but the lineup was still great and there were some hidden gems that I had never heard their material. You may see people complaining about the 2 drink minimum: that can include soft drinks, water, and other non-alcoholic beverages to cut the cost down.
What even needs to be said about this place that isnt already known? This is the Comedy Store. If you come here, you are guaranteed to laugh, and I mean a lot. We came for two shows and were dying of laughter. The first was the roast battle in the belly room and it was awesome getting to watch up and coming comics battle it out on stage with 3 jokes each. Then for our second show we saw a main room comedy rocks stage and it was even more funny. Andy dick pretty much almost sat in my lap in the front row.
I so love The Comedy Store!Great comedy, food and drinks!#ChickenStrips
The most famous place in the West coast for stand up comedy. Joey Diaz, and Davey Wester were the standouts of the night.
The Comedy Store is as legendary as all the stories let on. Its absolutely a staple of Hollywoods famous Sunset Strip and features a full bar and live comedians performing nightly. Its not uncommon to see celebrities out and about and on my last visit, I even saw Pauly hanging out right next to us. Staff is friendly and the food is ok, but dont go for the food...go to laugh your butt off!
The service was good, the prices reasonable, the show was entertaining. A very nice evening all around.
Absolutely go here! Best comedians in the world come here. Expect to spend $100 tonight. Two drink min. Required per person, plus youll want dinner. Not for the weak, youll likely get roasted!
The best comedy in the world is here at the comedy store, many famous comedians will show up unannounced to practice there sets here on a weekly basis
Fun! Early shows are cheaper, but still two drink minimum...
Comedy any night of the week. Show the open micer’s some love and come on a Monday for Kill Tony or Potluck.
Great time with a few surprise comedians that made it an even better time. Stiff drinks, if thats something you are into. Clean bathrooms. Reasonable parking for L.A.
What can I say, this place is where I go to disconnect. Always great bartenders and if you havent gone to a roast battle I highly recommend it. Its located in a perfect spot. If visiting and need a place to stay lots of hotels in the area. There is also several rooms of comedy shows. I suggest checking out their website. I have also seen many of my favorite comedians. If visiting LA make put this on your list of places to visit.
Great venue. Super chill.
Fun place for comedy in Los Angeles.I usually bounce between this place and the place down the street for cool shows.Great place for comics just starting out.The chairs are really uncomfortable but the show is generally pretty entertaining.Drink, laugh, have fun!
What a great time. Small setting with big talent.
I just love this place to death. I love it like family. I dont care that the on-site parking is worthless and you have to pay to park down the street. I dont care that theres a two drink minimum and the drinks are overpriced, tiny, and watered down. I dont care that the food is fried cardboard. This is the best place in the world for comedy for a reason. All three rooms are ideal for laughter and the best names in the world play here so casually, back-to-back, every night. Be respectful of the celebrities, just wave and nod or take a photo if its appropriate. Over the last few years since they replaced a bad manager everything has improved; the shows run smoothly and its the best its been in 15 years now.
Stand up on the spot, always the best, Jeremiah rocks it outa the park! Love this place.
Its a lovely small historical comedy place. It was my first time going and I would reccomend it to others. I hadnt laughed like this in such a long time
Took my date here in 2010 and Joey Diaz hit on her
Really fun. 3 room sizes, Ive been to the original and the belly room, both great. The original room is a standard comedy club room, but with unbelievable talent. The Belly room feels intimate, like they are telling stories just to you.
Loads of fun. Dont sit up front if youre sensitive. I couldnt stop laughing. Rick Ingraham slays.
You never know who will show up its the best place for laughs.
Had a great night there. Single best thing in LA!
Staff is very kind and the place is perfect size! Seating is a little awkward but we were able to upgrade to an awesome booth. Will return again soon!
Had a blast here my 3rd time here first time in the main room 2nd and 3rd in the original room went with family and friends again had a blast yes we will be going back
Great sets and great service and i always have a great time here. The store is located in a restaurant/bar filled area on the upper east side so you can grab a nice dinner before or late night drinks after the show. You will find great deals on groupon and they sometimes give out free tickets after the show for your next visit.
Good jokes and interesting vibe. Couple of comedians were not funny but that’s not on Comedy Store. They’re pretty strict about the two drinks rule but good news is that bottled water counts. Mixed drinks were pretty watery anyway
Best place in North America to see a full line up of heavy hitters in the comedy game in one night!!! best bang for your buck youll find at any comedy show in the world!!! The best in the business, legendary comedy club, friendly staff, great drinks, surprise pop ins that will make you talk about your evening to others for days and months at a time!! If your in LA you have to go to the Comedy Store, you wont regret it!! 10stars!!
Great performances from all kinds of comedians.
Great Entertainment! Great place to see up and coming comedians! Food options was not that good...eat before or after! Drinks were really good though!!
