Lovely to visit, hike, do water activities and kids can be kids on the playground. I wasnt sure if they had grills but we had tons of fun and went on kayak it was fun. The girls saw horses that was sweet!

One of the most rewarding parks in our Nations Capitol (DMV). This park boasts a marina, miniature golf, RV & camp grounds, various trails and more! It is a lovely place for family outing or a quiet in the park stroll. Should you desire you can bring your blanket and picnic basket for a nice relaxing meal. The amenities are very accommodating, with a well maintained restroom station, parking is plentiful and separated for launching boats and watercraft and those cars just visiting the park. The miniature golf course has its own parking lot. It is nestled neatly in Lorton, but the drive is well worth it....when I visited the even had a pumpkin patch display up with hay, pumpkins, and a pumpkin scarecrow! I will certainly revisit and hope you will too!

Weve camped at Pohick, rented shelters at pohick, and done tons of other things here... Someday we will get to the famed Pirates Cove! Everything here is immaculate. The staff is fantastic - such a gem hidden so close to the DC area.

Nicely maintained, quiet campground and we loved our full hook-up large, private campsite! This was one our favorite campgrounds during a 3-week tour of ME, CT, VT, NY, PA and D.C. We will stay again if we are ever back in the area!

Since the national park was closed due to them limiting the amount of people who can enter the park we made our way back to this regional park. Really glad we did! Free entrance for living within the jurisdiction of Fairfax county. The trails were great and the water was beautiful! It was very busy but everyone kept their distance from each other and everyone was very respectful. Will definitely visit again.

In a day and age where youre encouraged to stay at home, I encourage EVERYONE to safely step into this serene oasis of fun for the whole family. Went kayaking; enjoyed it. Grilled out; enjoyed it. Nice Parks and Picnic centers for large groups. They have bar b q stove and shade areas. Boat rentals and kayaks.

Theres pandemic Pohik Bay Regional Park and pre-pandemic Pohick Bay Regional Park. A 40-minute drive south of Washington, D.C. passed Mount Vernon, Pohick Bay Regional Park is a large park near Mason Neck State Park. The park is along Gunston Cove. Here is what to love:1) Scenery- Along the water, it offers beautiful views of the cove and river.2) Amenities- It has three hiking trails at varying levels, a playground, campgrounds, kayak rentals, bathrooms, etc.3) Trails- With most trails not very long or intense, its a perfect hike with small kids.What not to love:1) Parking- Its free for Virginia residents, but it cost $8 for out of state visitors.When the world is not in a pandemic, theres a large water park open worth visiting.

Went for a two mile hike on a beautiful day. Not too crowded and everyone well behaved - COVID wise. Wed never been so this was an exploratory visit. We plan on coming back and renting a boat or do some photography. Lots of families with young kids in the campground. Great way to get them outside these days.

Nice campground. Ample recreation; mini golf, golf, canoe/kayak rental, hiking trails, multi use trails, sports fields. Note: most campsites do not have water. You have to fill tanks at a spigot near check-in station.

Our church rented a pavilion for a picnic today. It was a great way to get together outside and visit with friends. We played games and painted mini pumpkins. It was all great fun.

Great no frills camping, reasonable pricing, and lots of things to do in the warmer weather (fishing, boating, water park, mini golf, disc golf). Huge play area in the center of the camping loop for kids.

Best waterfront Park in Fairfax County. Campground was packed. Pohick Bay is pristine. Good place to chill.

I spent the weekend with my family at the camp ground and the reservation staff were very pleasant specifically Miss Caroline. She was very knowledgeable about the camp grounds and very attentive to our needs. My major concern was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. We got there on Friday and the bathroom (station 1 ) was very filthy with the toilet paper all over the floor. I brought it to the attention of the office clerk with the the hopes that theyll clean it but to no avail. In fact, when we went on Saturday morning, the bathroom was in worse condition. One of the toilet was blocked with toilet paper and the bathroom was in disarray. We had to check out one day early because the bathroom was unbearable. And it was a major concern for me because we had younger kids with us. Overall the camp recreation area with the kayaks and paddleboats were fun activities for all to enjoy plus it was priced very reasonable at $16.00 for the paddle boat and $12 for the kayak.

Campground is terrible. It is up on a big hill so all the campsites are gravel and super small. Considering its about 50 dollars said and done for the site I would recommend going somewhere else if you want to camp

Nice little disc golf course is what we go for, but there are hikes you can do there too

We played the disc golf course and loved it. Many others were playing at the same time yet we didnt feel rushed or crowded. Easy to follow the course!

We went kayaking. It was really nice, and not too many people. The weather was wonderful and I will go again.

It was very nice place to camp. Bathrooms were clean enough that it didnt make you uncomfortable. The rest of the area was clean and in good condition as well. I would definitely come back again.

We had a great time playing disc golf on Presidents day. The course is tight and very wooded with some very difficult shots that were fun to play. For as tight as the course is, it still allowed for some long holes. Everything is fairly well marked and easy enough to navigate. Perfect place to work on your accuracy or trick shots from difficult positions.We did not have to pay park fees or disc golf fees. Not sure whether that was due to the winter season or Presidents Day holiday, but it was a pleasant surprise.

We spent the weekend here camping and had a great time. The campgrounds are really nice. Our site backed to the large field and playground just a short walk to the bathhouse. The sites have a good bit of distance between them for a state park. We did some of the hikes in the park while we were here and went to the neighboring park for a hike which we enjoyed.

Built for boaters. No dock fishing, shore is a mess. Not recommended for beginners.

There are quite a few areas with down trees but the trail we took is marked really well and the dog loves jumping over the fallen logs so it just makes it a little more challenging. I love following the water and we went on a beautiful breezy day.

Great hiking options - plenty of outdoors

This is a beautiful little park with outstanding facilities, including gorgeous picnic spots, playgrounds, a boat ramp, canoe rentals in season, a miniature golf course, camping, and a water park. Hiking is probably better at nearby Mason Neck State Park, but for all other purposes this is a great place.

Fun weekend getaway - rustic cabins are great

Have been going there since 2006. A pleasant forest like surprise so close to nations capital. There are several wooded walking trails and fishing within a short walk. They recently completed an infrastructure improvements project providing 50 AMP service to all their sites. I used to walk up on a Friday afternoon and get the site of my choice. Now I have to make reservations well in advance to get my site of choice.

Great recreational space. Cute little store on property. Awesome playground. They even put on an outdoor movie on Friday night for the family at the playground. We will definitely be back!

Adventures for every one, you can practice camping,fishing, boating,ride jet sky. Is a huge place you can spent time with the family, made picnic,they also have a play ground,is a very safe place for any activity.

What stands out to me about this campground is the friendliness of the people who work here. I arrived late around 11:30 pm and the complex was dark. I spoke with the onsite person who was driving around in their truck. They were surprisingly cordial and accommodating by driving to direct me to my specific campsite. The people who I encountered in the main office were equally as friendly the next day. Unfortunately during my stay it was raining all weekend and I didnt participate in any of the campground/facility activities and attractions. However, there was a full itinerary of events for people to enjoy. The layout of the campground was accommodating and the grounds were well kept. The small campground store also appeared to be fully stocked with reasonably priced items for anything needed that may have been forgotten. I read one previous review that said their campsite was on the side of a hill. I was at Site 96 and it does backup to a steep hill running down to a small creek area but there was definitely enough room for our large six person tent. I will look to stay here again if I am going to be camping in the area.

The amount of space available for camping and hiking is impressive. The trails are well marked. The bathrooms could use an update, but they are clean. The playgrounds, mini golf, frizbee golf, and boat launch and rental are well kept. All in all, quite impressive.

Very nice place to just hang out for the day! Had a bbq, fished a little, went out on a kayak, and played some washers.. lots of picnic tables and plenty of trees for shade.. restrooms were ok. Overall a very nice place to spend the day with family! Would definitely come here again!

Big park, good trail network. Very quiet in the winter but still beautiful. Seems to have a lot if amenities. Campgrounds were open in January!

We loved this campground. Its clean, has lots of trees to keep direct sunlight from heating up trailer, and there are fun activities within walking distance. We enjoyed the pool, kayaking, mini golf, hiking, playgrounds, and disc golf (some extra fees, but nominal). Its a great location to DC and was a fun vacation on a bay with easy access to sightseeing in the Capitol.

Great for a weekend camping trip. Close by without sacrificing things to do. The campground specifically had many planned/organized activities for smaller children (Halloween themed). The staff is nice and helpful, comfort stations are clean and plentiful. The ONLY drawback is that the campsites are very close together but thats a small thing and was easily dismissed.

I love this park for kayaking and have visited on numerous occasions. The park is conveniently located off of I-95 on the Lorton exit and offers easy kayaking on wide open water. A kayak ramp is available and going upstream is interesting with some eagles and many white egrets to enjoy

No opportunities for fishing from the shore. Everything signed off no fishing. Playground is ok. Didnt try other attractions but hope to soon.

Pohick is okay. The disc golf course here is my favorite in the surrounding area. I dont appreciate having to pay an extra $2 fee after already paying to enter the park, however, and most people dont pay it because of this. In fact I dont think any other park charges an extra fee, but asks for donations instead. Once my group was rushed off the course, even though the course was empty. I am aware of a certain disc golfer that maintains the course since the park doesnt seem to take care of it.Next to the disc golf course is a putt-putt course. You can pay another fee to rent balls and putters. There are bathrooms down a trail across the street from this parking lot, but they arent always open.Drive beyond this parking lot and you will find a decent playground, boat launch, rentals, trails, a picnic area, and bathrooms (that are open about half the time you need to use them).There is also RV storage, camping, and a water park here, though I cant comment on that. Pohick has a sister park called Bull Run out in the Manassas area, and the seasonal pass works there too.All in all, its an okay place. Its not my first choice for the kids, but its great for disc golf.

Weve stay at Pohick Bay many times and usually enjoy ourselves. But this time has been, well, disgusting.We are stuck next to an abandoned campsite covered in pizza and trash. The animals are scavenging non-stop. Who knew squirrels loved soggy pizza?The office knows about it and has taken no action to clean it up except to post a note at the site.

Very nice camp sites. We did DC tours for three days, rode metro everyday, parked in a park and ride station. Highly recommend. We will be back in the future.

Full hookup, wonderful shade, fantastic trails, a waterpark we plan to hangout at this afternoon and close enough to DC. We will be back!

Only negative, no natural swim area. Dont know if u want to swim in Potomac River or not? They do have pool and water park but are currently closed due to covid.

Great park in the D.C. area! Easy to get in and out, super friendly staff. Great for kids, never a far walk from bath house and the playground. The pirates cove water park is right next door and campers get a discount, 16 bucks for our family of 4. We plan to come back when we are in the area.

Weve been camping here since 2004. Its close to our house yet you feel like youre far away. Active during the Spring, Summer and Fall and quiet during the Winter.

Quiet campground close to DC. Great park staff there is a large playground for kids in the middle of the campground

Best privately owned campground ever! Very well taken care of like a state Park. Playground, pool, disc golf, and laundry facilities. Bathrooms are clean and have great showers. About 30 minutes away from DC. I am a return customer and will highly recommend this campground to everyone. Park employees are very helpful and kind.

Good place for Camping grill and small reunions

I was fortunate enough to be selected to participate in laying there wreath at the Tomb Of The Unknown Solider, which is what brought me to the DC area. I took this opportunity to travel in our rental to some places in the limited time I had after the event. Pohick Bay Regional Park caught my eye. I was looking for a quick stop to get some non-tourist scenes before leaving. Id like to spend some more time there, possibly next time. Its open and has great lake views.

So much better than we expected! Its a camping resort! Camp sites were great with fire pit and grill, fantastic bathroom stations, and a plethora of fun activities for all! Mini golf, movie night, craft hour, paddle boats, canoes, water park for munchkins, pay grounds, and hiking of course! We hope to make this a yearly tradition!!

Lovely marina, playground, beach for fishing, hiking trails, camping, Pirates Cove water park and mini-golf, kayak and pedal boat rentals.... This place literally has everything! Small entrance fee for non-Fairfax County residents. Truly a great spot to spend the day or camp the weekend.

Love this park, and the kids do too. Having both kiddy and large pool with water slides and diving boards is great. There are other outdoor experiences as well. Nice day trip for the family.

Beautiful fall camping experience! Enjoyed our first stay here so much in the beginning of November, we decided to spend Thanksgiving weekend here as well! Both times all the employees and the campground supervisor were AMAZING! Super helpful, incredibly friendly, and very accommodating. Our first trip we arrived at nearly 10pm and could not see a thing. A quick call to the main number and we were able to get a hold of Nick (campground supervisor) who came out in a truck and escorted us to a drive-through spot since we couldnt see to backup. We were able to move to our reserved spot in the morning after some sleep :) On trip 2 we realized after getting fully setup that the diverter on our water connection was not working. We quickly stopped at the camp store and reported the issue and the amazing staff had us repaired and operational before we even returned from a quick errand. Both trips we had great views of the changing leaves, peace and quiet, and access to the campground store until 8pm every day. The spots are predominantly gravel, there are several that are level or very easy to level on (pull through spots are harder to level), and a handful of sites have full connections. We had full connections on trip 1, water/elec on trip 2. The dump station is clean and easy to use as well. Comfort station were clean enough that we used the showers, finding nice hot water and great water pressure for a thorough cleaning. We will definitely be back here for a winter or two camping adventure, but ultimately cannot wait for spring and summer so we can take advantage of the water park and many other amenities this location has to offer!

Arrived on 7/15. Upon arrival we were informed they had a water main break on 7/4 and water could not be consumed. Also informed that electricity was being shut off on 7/17 for 6 hours. No email prior to this informing me of anything. Last night, 7/18 power shuts off, informed they switched to their new power boxes. Our cord was too short to reach. We had to hook our camper up to the truck to move forward 5 feet to have power again. Today, 7/19 we have been without usable water (was told we should only flush the toilet) since 9 am. They said it could be the weekend until it is usable. Not at all impressed. I would have went elsewhere if they had informed us in advance of all this going on.

Havent been in a while but it is a beautiful place. Very wooded lots that are good sized. Love to go again
