This was a nice/cute little family oriented pirate themed water park. This park offered different swimming areas, water slides and a sectioned off area for the smaller children. They had changing rooms, showers and lockers. They also offered a snack bar and gift shop area, that had towels, swimwear, etc. Unfortunately, both were a little pricey. Overall, nice place to visit, children enjoyed it.

Very family friendly place to go with the kids. Waterslides for the bigger kids and the adults, small pool area for little ones, sand pit which tge staff hide little treasure for the kids to find and redeem for a prize from a treasure box.The life guards are very well trained and responsible. On the day that I was there they were doing continuing training for the staff. It was really amazing to see the staff spring into action and quick response time from all staff members. The snack shack was reasonable priced and the food was good.

Went yesterday from 11-3pm with my 7 and 10 year old girls. Enjoyed the time and witnessed two incidents where kids needed assistance/rescue. The staff all responded accordingly and quickly. This place is amazing....its especially great for family and kids. It costs just $8 to get in and kids under 2 are free. They offer free life jackets. There is a shallow section for kids and a mega section for adults. All in all, i would strongly recommend that you make this place one of your must-gos this summer.

Went here on July 4th and had a great time. We did arrive 15 minutes prior to opening and there were about 30-40 people already waiting in line. It didnt take long for us to get in and they had limited seating with shade so you have to get there early to get it. The pool itself was nice and the kids play area was separated from the big kids area which was a plus. You were also able to bring in coolers and food from outside.

Much smaller than advertised, but still a great little park. The food was terrible (zero stars) and the help seemed a little off put when I kept trying to order the things they were out of... regardless, the kids loved the attraction. We didn’t make time to make use of the sand trap the kiddos can dig in- it looked amazing & we only noticed it on our way out of the park. Next time:)Bonus: make sure to check Groupon for special rates and pricing.

With the BEST sand pit with a water table in the center, a fenced off kiddie pool and a great shallow pool with a water playground at the center... We have been to a few of the water parks in the NOVA Parks system and this definitely is the best among the smaller and cheaper ones (a few cost about twice as much and are geared for the older crowds I assume). The smaller ones like this are perfect for families with small children who cant go on big water slides yet but want more excitement than a regular pool has to offer. The sand pit has a LOT of shade and tons of sand toys. We could have stayed there all day with my 1.5 and 3 year old girls. They were fully occupied playing by themselves. The water table in the middle really is the icing on the cake. It has running water and helps to get wet sand for sandcastles or just do sensory play. There are a bunch of little table surfaces to play on too.Yes the food is terrible, cheap, and unhealthy, and the lines are long. Just plan ahead and bring a cooler with your own snacks (lots of people were doing this) or order pizza.

Been here twice now. Best waterpark food Ive ever had. Impressed how clean the bathroom stalls were. They do need to fix or change out the shower chains. Some were broken and not user friendly. My grandson had a birthday party this weekend. The staff is attentive and friendly. I would have given a 5 star rating. I get to the pool area early because I want to get a view of my grandchildren playing in front of me. I chose to be under the the facilities umbrella. As it starts to get crowed and everyone wants to be under the umbrella, people start pulling the lounge chairs in the back and position them in front of you. They are backed up in front of you and they give you one feet from my lounge chair. I know there will be people who are inconsiderate and have no etiquette pool manners. These inconsiderate people were 5 feet from the pool, yet the staff just walked by. I strongly suggest that you enforce and implement a painted bright colored line that states that no lounge chair can be parked pass this Line. Sooner or later I can foresee confrontation between pool loungers. Aside from this I would have given a 5 star. Thank you.

Price is great, the only catch is that if you don’t have an address within the surrounding vicinity, you have to pay an $8 entrance charge first. Then you pay the water park fee at the water park entrance. But worth it. Only reason I give it a 4 out of 5 stars is because the kiddy pool is small and it has 1 small size slide, if it was a little bigger kiddy pool you could add more attractions for the little ones. All in all great place to go, entry fee to main park, entry fee to water park and food for a family of five I paid in total less then $100 while children under 2 are free for the day and the kids had a blast. Thank you for the great time Pirate’s Cove Waterpark.

POOL RASH!!!! I visited the park on Saturday 8/17/19 for the first time. Right off the bat I was not very impressed with the park. It just didn’t quite live up to the photos on it’s site. Right off the bat we were notified that the main pool was closed for cleaning for the next 1.5 hours in the middle of the day. Not sure what kind of cleaning they did. The life guards lazily moved around the pool chatting with nets hardly scooping up anything. The next thing I notice is all the sandin the bottom of the pool. Whose bright idea was it to put a play sand pit next to a pool. Finally the pool opens up. The kiddo goes in and finds a friend. Fingers crossed I don’t actually have to get into the pool. No such luck. New friend leaves. So I go swim for a couple hours. After the pool we go to the locker room to wash up. We shower which is gross as the drain is clogged. I even use a chlorine specific shampoo and conditioner. Then comes my biggest issue. I wake up the next day and what the heck I am covered in POOL RASH. I look like I have chicken pox and it is sooooo itchy. Guess that cleaning wasn’t quite long enough or done correctly. Never again!!!! Not sure why anyone likes this place.

I went there today with my 12 year old and his two friends. We love Pirates Cove but the girl working the register around 6pm at the concession stand was very rude to me and the children. I asked her if the hamburgers were beef and she said I think so. I asked if she could check because my boys only eat beef she was not happy. She got our initial order wrong and when one of my boys went up to ask how much the dipping dots cost, she made a rude comment and then slammed the sliding door on him. He is 12 years old and was afraid to go back up, after getting the money from me and ordering anything else. That employee needs to realize that they are dealing with the public and children. Management needs to speak with her as I’m sure we weren’t the only ones she had an attitude with. The other employee that gave us our correct items was very helpful and sweet.

Overall waterpark offers something for everyone. Price to enter is great, standing in line in the hot sun for 25-30 mins needs improvement. The food is hit or miss. Sadly there seems to be a lot of inattentive parents, and it’s always packed.

Great family fun AND amazingly long lines/wait times. We arrived at 1107. We didn’t enter until 1143. I went to grab a bite to eat at 1307; we didn’t receive our food until 1418. The “funny” thing about it all, is that after waiting almost an hour to order food in the blazing 90 degree sun, you still have to wait 12 minutes for them to fix it. Moreover, the staff walks around the line at the entrance telling people that they can skip the lines with a membership. No one should have to wait in the sun for over 30 minutes to enter, anywhere, regardless if they have a membership or not. It seemed like nothing but teenagers running things. This place definitely needs a grown up to intervene, manage, and slash the wait times.

Pros: The pool and attractions are great. Great pool depth, perfecf midage stuff and slides, great tot pool, fun water slides for big kids. The lifeguards, while you can’t understand anything they yell, have always been nice to my son when directing turns on the slides.Cons: The line to get in can take an hour. No family bathroom/ dressing room. Then, there are NO dressing rooms in the women’s ( my husband says that there are some in men’s.). Then EVERY SINGLE TIME I’ve gone for two years, there have been grown men in the women’s locker room! Teenage boys, a middle aged man.. you name it! Staff do not police this. It’s a huge issue when you need to get dressed in the open. Then the condensation dripping onto your stuff while trying to dress is horrible. You can’t change the baby in there because nasty pipe water could get into his mouth or eyes!Don’t bother going for food. It’s a 45 minute wait in line for a 45 minute cook time. If they’re not at capacity, just go back to your car for food then go back to swim. While a fun place, I think this will be our last year buying season passes. The stress just isn’t worth it.

Great fun for my daughter (and me). The price is a little high but that seems to keep the place from being too overwhelmed. There are only about 6 big umbrellas covering areas of chairs, so unless you want to sit/lay in the sun or have your stuff bake while you play you need to get there when they open. The restrooms are clean enough, perhaps could be updated but it is what it is. The slides were all functional, from the toddler slide to the big swirly adult slides. Interestingly they made my daughter take her flotation device (coast guard approved) OFF to use a slide... apparently to protect the surface of the slide. So that was weird, but overall the lifeguards are on point and seem very attentive.Be aware if someone has an accident in the pool they will shut it down for an hour for cleaning. there is also a toddler/kiddie pool area and my 2 year old thought it was great. near that is a sand-play area that can probably hold about 15 kids, with showers to rinse off before going back to the pools. The snack shop was about what youd expect; burgers, fries, hot dogs, ice cream. They advertise pizzas but didnt have any each time Ive been there. While Im on multiple trips Ill say there was a big difference between trips in clientele. During the weekdays after 4pm discount time you will be crowded and maybe even overwhelmed, but during the weekend at full-price it was very pleasurable. No smoking in the gates but you can walk to the car and re-enter.

This is a great park for kids. They have areas for toddlers (kiddie pool and sand play area), elementary age (fountains and slides in the 3.5 pool area and big slides for those over 42), and teenagers (the big slides and deeper pool area). They only sell overpriced carnival food aside from a grilled chicken salad. If you want to eat healthy, youll need to bring your own and keep it in a cooler in your car as they wont allow outside food in the park. You can exit and re-enter with a hand stamp.Parking is limited so arrive early. Similarly, there are limited lounge chairs in shaded areas (plenty in the sun though). On hot days the park can fill up which will leave you waiting in line in the blazing sun without cover. Be prepared. When I went the staff waited until 30 people left to let another 30 in.They have small lockers for .75 so take quarters. The mens locker room floor was very dirty, but the rest of the park was clean.

This is one of the smaller Fairfax County water parks, but a very nice one. It gets filled up on the weekends! Theres a large sand play area and a baby pool with small slide, each well-gated to help prevent runaway toddlers :) In the middle of a large 3 foot deep pool is a multi-level play structure with slides, splash features, and a dumping bucket. At the far corner are two large water slides for those thrill-seekers 40 and up. No food is allowed to be brought inside the park, although Ive never seen anyone get stopped for trying. The park has a small concession stand with the usual snack/picnic foods. My family of young children like this park for its compact nature and for the sand play area. Once they get older, they will likely want to travel to a water park with taller rides and a wave pool, but this is great for now!
