Boulder County are to be congratulated on preserving this historical site and for making it accessible to all. When we visited it was interesting, well maintained and a great place for photogrsphy.
This was a nice quiet alternative to the busy commercial pumpkin patches and farms this time of year. My preschool girls enjoyed chickens cows, donkeys, goats, and sheep, learning about farming practices through the years, and playing in the interactive exhibit set up in the barn. We ate a nice picnic lunch on one of the provided tables. Beautiful setting too. I rated this 5 stars because it was free and good for my younger kids. Not sure someone with older kids would rate it similarly.
This is one of the best places around. I highly suggest attending one of the living history days put on by BCOS. In the wintertime there are no animals. Make sure you know what season it is b/c they change their days + times seasonally.
After you get done exploring around take a walk or a bike run around 3.4 miles Walker bike round beautiful
Great free fun activity for the whole family. Be sure to go inside the house! Plenty of learning and photo opportunities. Lots of cool activities for the kids! Being a picnic lunch and spend a couple hours here. You wont regret it!
This is a great little farm to take kids to. My 1 yo & 2 yo loved it, but it would be great for older kiddos too. They have pigs, horses, cows, sheep, goats, & donkeys as well as some bee hives. There is an old farmhouse with period furnishings, an old barn to explore, & a big red barn with museum exhibits. There are picnic tables around the farm to enjoy a picnic lunch. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, & great with the kids.
Awesome place to learn local history and farming
Jim Drew the director there is amazing! I am a school teacher and we take our first graders each year. He makes it so easy to set up and customize the trip to exactly what we need covered taking into account time limitations. The center is interactive, thorough and fun! I am bringing my 3 year old there today so she can experience it as well.
Little gem in Longmont. Its a small historical farm that has animals that you can get close to. They have a big red barn with very nice exhibits on farm life in Colorado. Perfect place to take kids. Its very clean and in great shape for being such an open place. Great views of the lake and of course the mountains. Free fun for all.
Was there for a tour for kids. Very informative about how family farms functioned. Fun for the kids, I even learned a thing or two! Totally worth the drive if youre not close to Longmont.
We go to the Agricultural Center several times during their season. Any day you can visit the chickens, cows, pigs, sheep, goats and horses. We also enjoy the barn with the irrigation map, tractor, and other displays. The tour is also great for school age kids and is often catered to the audience. We also like to go on special event days. Some highlights for my kids are going on tractor rides, seeing different animals, making butter, learning about bees, making candles, and searching for the animals on the farm. Look forward to going many more times!
So fun. Family friendly.
I brought my two and six year olds and we all had a fantastic time. Lots to learn, but more importantly, they love having room to run and fatm equipment to actually play on. We will be returning very soon.
Love to pet the goats!
This place was so exciting and fun for All kids. This farm is a great experience for kidos from babys and young kidos in this age group, to toddlers, to teenagers, and to grown ups ! This place also had good and nice and helpful staff. And at one exibet kidos could pretend to milk a cow in a bucket, and could also pretend to ride on a horse, and play in a mini shoping center, and pretend to ride on a tractor.
Fun place for children to learn about how things were done back in the past.
My kids loved this place and cant wait to go back.
Lots to see. Museum, house, barns, animals
